Today I was thinking about the good old days of the WWF. I remember that Austin was given 50% of the WWF thanks to Linda and Stephanie McMahon to take on Vince and Shane McMahon. Then at a PPV, 100% of the WWF was on the line, in a briefcase that hung over the ring, for a ladder match.

I know Vince and Shane won, but Austin had the match won a few times, but someone kept on pulling the rope higher and Austin couldn't reach it.

I know the person was reviled on the following Raw. Does anyone remember who that person was?

Thanks

I think it could be Bossman or Brisco and Patterson.

I think it was a main eventer. I think it was Jericho if I'm not mistaken.

Wasn't Jericho still in WCW at that time? Jericho came to the WWE (I think) after Steph had her heel turn.

I think it was Steph and/or Linda McMahon. In the WWE office, Austin made them angry by running the WWF to the ground and I think they had rather have one of their boys then Austin.

Unfortunately for Austin, a Corporate Ministry stooge (never revealed who) raised the briefcase out of Austin's reach, keeping him from winning. Vince then climbed the ladder and slugged it out with Austin, until Shane shoved both of them over. Shane then climbed up, with the briefcase lowering for him, and got the victory, taking away Austin's booking power.

Found this on a Austin Fansite detailing his entire WWE career, is quite intresting.
So it could have been you Chazz!? lol I guess we will never know

Connect the dots:

- The match is made for KOTR with the stipulation that NO MEMBER of the Corporate Ministry can interfere.

- 1 week before KOTR, Bossman is 'fired' from the Corporate Ministry.

- Someone raises the briefcase at KOTR99.

-The next night on RAW, Bossman rejoins the Corporate Ministry, saying "I love you guys!"

I think it's pretty obvious who did it.

that was a pretty good shhow that.. i quite enjoyed that match and as a young, ignorant viewer at the time, i was genuinly POed at the guy raising the briefcase... and the stips did say no member of the ministry could interfere, and bossman was "fired" so it was a pretty cool setup to put vince over as a MASSSIVE heel...
