Ring of Honor debuted at the Lexington National Armory on Saturday 5/15, drawing about 500 fans for the promotion's third-ever "Round Robin Challenge." That crowd was a good turnout for the promotion considering they had a venue change and there has been much less of a buzz surrounding the company as of late.

The show featured the return of early ROH standout Spanky, the build to Homicide's 5/22 challenge of Samoa Joe for the ROH championship, three title changes, and in perhaps the most newsworthy event of the show, Ricky Steamboat becoming the most physically involved at a wrestling show to date since suffering his career ending back injury in 1994.

The complete results of the show saw:

*In the first Round Robin Challenge bout, Danny Maff & BJ Whitmer defeated CM Punk and Colt Cabana to win the ROH Tag Team championships after Whitmer hit Cabana with his finisher, an Exploder for the pin. Allison Danger looked smoking hot. Punk and Cabana tried to walk out of the match but Ricky Steamboat, who in storyline has some power to oversee matches, stopped them in the aisle and forced them back to the ring. Punk and Cabana attacked Steamboat in the ring after the match. They brought a table in (it broke when they tossed it in) and placed it in the corner, running him into it twice. They didn't get the reaction or visual they wanted, so a second table was brought in. Steamboat was placed on it. Punk went for a top rope legdrop, but as he jumped, the table collapsed. He still hit the move and put Steamboat through the rest of the table. The other officials hit the ring and Steamboat was helped out. They couldn't do anything to control the tables but their lack of assistance hindered the angle, which ROH management knew and wasn't happy with. The match was solid.

*Alex Shelley pinned Matt Stryker. The storyline is they are having a Best of Three Match series but Shelley, being arrogant, only signed for two matches because that's all he needs to win.

The Carnage Crew & Dunn and Marcos defeated Prince Nana & Josh Daniels & The Outkast Killahs.

*ROH champion Samoa Joe defeated the Havana Pitbulls' Ricky Reyes, who came out with Homicide and Julius Smokes. The storyline is Reyes turned off the lights at ROH's Minnesota event during Joe vs. Homicide to set up Homicide throwing a fireball. The Havana Pitbulls are the newest Rottweilers, a faction that was originally going to be Homicide's crew but stalled right out of the gate. Joe looked to be slowed considerably, possibly from his match the night before with Low Ki at USA Pro. They beat the crap out of each other, with Joe striking with a slap so hard the entire building winced. The crowd didn't seem to know who Reyes was, which makes sense since he's never worked in the Boston market.

*CM Punk and Colt Cabana came out to cut a promo, bragging about sending Ricky Steamboat to the hospital and declaring that they would defeat the Briscoes for the belts if they held them later in the night. In the second Round Robin Challenge bout, Mark and Jay Briscoe defeated Dan Maff and BJ Whitmer to win the ROH Tag Team championships when Mark cradled Maff from behind. Briscoes looked good. Mark mistimed a flip off the ropes and nearly killed himself crashing down on his head. That was scary.

*Josh Daniels pinned Special K's Dixie with a Fisherman's Buster. Angeldust was wearing a neck brace to sell his Scramble Cage II piledriver. Ox Baker showed up at ringside with Special K as well.

*In my pick for the best match of the night, hometown boy John Walters defeated Trent Acid, Roderick Strong, Special K's Izzy, Special K's Hydro, and Masada in a "Six Man Mayhem Match" after pinning Izzy following a Top Rope Hurricane DDT. This was just an insane collection of spots and crazy moves. Walters really got over with the Boston crowd here. Everyone looked great here.

*Homicide pinned the returning Spanky with a lariat. At one point, Spanky hit Sliced Bread #2 on the floor. Spanky had the pin but Smokes pulled the referee out. What happened to the Code of Honor? The early portion of their bout was similar to their match in WORLD-1. Lots of two counts. Samoa Joe came out to confront Homicide and was laid out. Homicide declared that he was going to be the next ROH champion when they face off on 5/22. Good match.

*CM Punk and Colt Cabana defeated Jay and Mark Briscoe to regain the ROH Tag Team championships after Cabana pinned Mark Briscoe with a top rope frog splash. They did the "pull the referee out during the 2 count" bit here too, which seemed weird as it was done twice in a row on the same show. They continued to brawl after the finish with everyone doing dives. When Punk was left in the ring, Ricky Steamboat hit the ring and went nose to nose with Punk. They exchanged chops and Steamboat went to the top and hit his old finisher, the flying bodypress. The place went nuts, with the show ending with Steamboat's theme music playing as he saluted the fans. If Steamboat isn't going to have a return match, ROH has done a good job of sure making it seem like it's going to happen. This was a nice sendoff moment to close the show.

Notes: The Round Robin Challenge ended in a three-way tie with each team attaining one victory....They announced an August return to the Boston market featuring Doug Williams....Bobby Cruise worked as ring announcer as regular ROH announcer Stephen DeAngelis missed the show due to a family commitment....The heat and humidity in the building was insanely stifling.....The live crowd was into everything on the show....ROH returned to Philadelphia at the National Guard Armory with ROH champion Samoa Joe vs. Homicide and ROH Tag Team champions CM Punk & Colt Cabana vs. Dan Maff & BJ Whitmer with Ricky Steamboat as the special referee

I'm slightly down by the fact that it was Reyes, Who turned out the light's, I was expecting it to Be B Boy or some one like that, Who care's though, The Havana Pitbulls now are a part of the Rottweilers!!! Hopefully though, they will keep them in Tag Team action as opposed to singles! That's my thoughts on it.

Punk Vs Steamboat could possibly be the Major Summer feud for RoH, This also could Possibly help get Punk over even more, But Hell i mark for Steamboat so i dont care, Would be Quite interesting to see Punk Vs Steamboat i think.

For me, RRC III look's a little bit of a let down, i really dont think the title's should have been on the line for the tournament. In all honesty they should have kept the belt's out of it, that way the belts could gain more credibility etc. Hopefully the saint's get to keep the belts for a little bit longer. It was pretty Ovbious that the it was going to go to a draw though.

I'm Quite interested in seeing the 6 Man mayhem match and also Very Interested in seeing Homicide Vs Spanky! Hopefully Homicide will use his Agressive style to keep unloading on Spanky, Shame Spanky lost, as i was actually wanting him to win.

Oh Well, Look's like a good show, Shame they had 2 Ref Bumps but never mind.

Thoughts?

Ring Of Honor returned to the Boston area for "Round Robin Challenge III" for a show where total chaos broke loose in addition to the most memorable ending to a ROH show ever. The National Guard Armory in Lexington, MA saw three title changes, the Rottwielers make their mark and a flying body press from Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.

The opening match was the first match of the Round Robin Challenge as CM Punk & Colt Cabana defended the tag titles vs. BJ Whitmer & Dan Maff with Allison Danger. The two hated rivals brawled and the champions tried to run away. Towards the end the Second City Saints tried to leave with the belts, but Steamboat cut them off in the aisle way. Maff the hit a big tope on the champs and tossed Cabana in for a wrist clutch exploder from Whitmer and the pin. Dan Maff & BJ Whitmer celebrated with their first ROH titles as The Prophecy returned to glory and gained the Tag Team Titles. After the match, Punk & Cabana injured Steamboat's back by trying to put him through a table.

Alex Shelley backed up his words and pinned Matt Stryker to win the first match of their best of three series in an excellent pure wrestling match.

Loc, Devito, Dunn & Marcos defeated Prince Nana, Josh Daniels, Oman Turtuga & Diablo Santiago. Nana now has his new Embassy, but he insists he's not done adding members yet.

Samoa Joe defeated Ricky Reyes of the Havana Pitbulls in a brutal match. Both Reyes and Pitbull partner Rocky Romero are now in the Rottwielers led by Julius Smokes and Homicide. Before this hard-hitting match that saw Reyes gain the respect of the fans, Homicide came to ring. Gary Michael Cappetta came out and informed Homicide that Joe would not be allowed to come out until Homicide returned to the locker room. Homcide went to the back, but ran into Joe and the two started brawling before being separated. Homicide attacked a couple of the guys that separated them in the locker room.

Jay & Mark Briscoe scored a shocking win over Dan Maff & BJ Whitmer to win the ROH Tag Team Titles. The Briscoes became two time ROH Tag Team Champions. Maff was crushed by the loss. Before the match Punk & Cabana cut a promo challenging Steamboat to come out, but Steamboat was on his way to the hospital.

Josh Daniels defeated Dixie of Special K. Ox Baker came to ringside during the match and tried to coach Dixie, but the Special K member blew him off. Baker told ROH officials he wants to hand the heart punch down to someone.

Six Man Mayhem proved to be the hottest new match in wrestling once again with a show stealing bout that saw John Walters score the win in his hometown by pinning Izzy. Other participants in the match included Hydro, Trent Acid, Roderick Strong and Masada.

Homicide defeated Spanky in what many are calling the best match of the night. After the bout Homicide called out Samoa Joe. The World Champion responded, but was jumped from behind by Reyes and beat down by all three Rottwielers including two piledrivers. Joe now has an injured neck. The locker room cleared to try to save Joe, but Homicide threatened them and was so intense about it that everyone stayed clear of him. We are entering a new, demonic stage with The Rottwielers.

Punk & Cabana defeated The Briscoes to win back the ROH Tag Team Titles. Mark was pinned after a frog splash on the ribs. Mark suffered punishment to the ribs in both his matches. After the bout, Maff & Whitmer hit the ring and a three team brawl ensued. At one point everyone cleared out but Punk. Steamboat surprised The Second City Saints by returning to chop and armdrag Punk. Steamboat then shocked the crowd when he ascended to the top rope to hit his patented flying body press. Everyone in attendance has goose bumps and will never forget this moment.

ROH would like to thank everyone for another successful show.

Looks ****ing sweet!
