In an interview with IGN.com (to promote the upcoming new Legends of Wrestling game), Sting says he wants to work for WWE.

"If it were done properly, I would do it. This last Wrestlemania would've been a good one, Wrestlemania XX, just the fact that I've never been a part of one. I would definitely do it. You know, Vince and I have talked several times over the past few years. The Wrestlemania before, he wanted me to repel out of the ceiling and do something with Stone Cold Steve Austin, and we were set to do it, we were going to do it, but once the attorney's get going, and it's not my attorney, he's only doing what I ask him to do, but once their attorney's get involved, it's tough. When I talk to Vince, it's easy. Anyway, I had to call Vince and tell him that we couldn't do it. He's been great every time I've talked to him, so you never know. It's something I'm interested in."

Sting also said that he doesn't consider himself a TNA wrestler and worked for them only out of loyalty to Jerry Jarrett.

"What ended up happening was when I first started my wrestling career, Jerry Jarrett was the only promoter who called us when we sent out those press kits I mentioned earlier. The only one who called us. Jerry called us three days after we sent those out, and even though there were four of us in the picture, he only wanted two of us, Jim and me. We got in the car and we left and that was it. He gave me my break. So last summer when I got a phone call from the Jarretts, I didn't want to do it. But then I started thinking about it, and Jerry gave me my break, so I decided to go out and help them out. I did four shows for them last year, but that was it."

I hope Sting and Vince can work something out. From the way this report sounds, Sting wants to be in the WWE, and most of the fans want him to be as well. Sting coming to the WWE could very well be the solution to the ratings problem.

true and i bet it will but if he does come to the WWE which show will they put him on?

If the WWE is smart, and cares anything about Smackdown, they would put him there. However, I think Sting would end up on Raw to be where the big boys play. I would like to see a Sting/RVD fued or a Sting/Undertaker fued. So to answer that question, I guess I would hope he ended up on Smackdown.

Even if he were just to come on a part-time basis, I can see Sting really hewlping out Smackdown. Im not a big fan of bringing back old guys but at a time like this Smackdown needs someone like Sting out there. He has main event quality and is a big draw still.

Yeah same with me, Smackdown need him most. Smackdown is dying at the moment, and Sting could help it survive.

I am really torn between this onei know Smackdown needs him and i would love a Sting/Undertaker fued BUT my dream match of all time is Sting vs. Shawn Michales both these men are my idols and the reason i love wrestling and it is a dream to see both men go at it (ofcourse i would prefer it being both men in their prime and Sting being under his original gimmick and HBK being like his DX self) but still i would love to see this happen so i'm not sure now if they were to send both men to S/D then that would be great abnd perfect for S/D but we will have to wait and see i guess

I would rather see Sting go to Raw than Smackdown because Raw has better people that he can have a feud with. I am going to go out on a limb and say that by the end of the year, Sting will be in WWE.

Thing is I doubt that really that bad of a limb. I can definitley see him in here by years end.

ill have to agree with Wordlife on the fact that his probably best to go to raw cause im sure he wouldnt want a contract longer then a year so raw would have better competition and match ups. but if he did go to the wwe i think it would be just for a couple of appearances.

If they keep sending people like Sting to RAW then Smackdown will soon die. I hope he comes in and I hope he goes to Smackdown because no matter how hard Eddie, Cena and Kurt are trying there is only so much they can do. I'd like to see Sting vs Undertaker at WM21...that would be sweet.

I was thinking the exact same thing Blackstar. A Sting vs. Undertaker matchup would be awesome at WM 21. I have always thought of that as one of my dream matches and it could possibly happen and I hope it does.

Boy, Sting coming to WWE!!!!!!! This could be as big as when Hogan came back. If this is their idea to save SD! then I've got three words for ya...bye bye Smackdown!

why would it be a bad thing for smackdown if sting go there! imo it would most likely save smackdown from the bad rating and create more storylines

Thats what everyone thought when NWO came in, when Hogan came back the last time, and actually when Taker came back this time. Did any of this boost ratings? Maybe for a week or two, maybe even a month. But when everyone realizes that no amount of storyline can make up for being past your prime, the ratings go back to where they were. Additionally, I'm not sure that Sting is as big a draw as he might seem. I know a ton of people who watch wrestling who aren't even sure who he is.

Sting was great in his time, but the Sting of 2004 is not the same Sting of 10-15 years ago. Hell, he isn't even the same Sting of 2000.

ya i guess ur right but if he does come to the wwe and goes on smackodwn, smackdown will be a better show then what it is right now! and i also heard to scott stenier was goin to go to smackdown for the rest of his contract

************************************************** *******
wrestlezone.com

" Scott Steiner had been out of action for months with a hip flexor and groin injury, and was just recently cleared to return. As we reported here last week, there are no plans to bring him back to TV, and he will sit out the rest of his original two-year contract getting his downside guarantee until the contract expires this fall.

There is still a small chance that he could be brought back but the feeling that is if they have him come back, it would be just so that he can put over some other guys on his way out.

The feeling is that he could have been given a shot as a heel on Smackdown due to the fact that he had been gone for so long, he was over, and Smackdown needs heels pretty badly at this point. A role like that would have given him limited wrestling roles, and he would have just talked and done some angles that could potentially get over.

Steiner is in his low 40's and has been bothered by a number of physical issues including his foot and back problems which stem from injuries he suffered years back and they limit his performance pretty badly when he is in the ring. It has also been said that for years, the amount of stretching and conditioning Steiner had to do just so he would be able to work limited matches, was a tremendous amount. "

so if sting and scott go to smackdown then maybe smackdown can be saved!

What Scott needs now is his brother Rick and they need to reform the Steiner Brothers tag team and go to the Smackdown! tag division...

Scott sucks as a singles competitor and to me is only good in tag teams, Rick & Scott is what needs to be done.

As for Sting, the WWE will mess him up just like everyone else and someone else running the company is the only way Sting would be successful, Vince needs to retire and let Shane and Steph run the company.

The 70's, 80's, and 90's are over and the new generation has begun and as much as I love the past Vince needs to step down and let his kids take over and only then will things get better.

Damn Billy and his sense making schemes. Like I said earlier Im not a big fan of bringing back the old talent because there is plenty of young talent there. But I have to say Smackdown is in a cruel state and the WWE title needs a good feud. A technical match between Sting and Eddie Gurrero, I think, would do wonders for the WWE title.

We all know that Sting is passed his prime BUT the WWE hasnt got many options. To bring up new superstars takes alot of time. Time WWE dont have with the current title picture. Thats why a veteran like Sting could be good for a year. Throw him in there to keep ratings respectable while you build the new talent to start a new era.

Who on Smackdown can Eddie drop the title to? JBL, no thanks. Booker T, maybe if Booker hadnt jobbed to Taker but now, no thanks. RVD, is he really there? Does RVD really have main event written all over him? Taker, ummmmmmm no. John Cena, give the boy some time and make him more of a bad ass. Gosh darn it we have run out of contenders.

No matter what is said, Sting can draw. He is really a house hold name. Take for example the Sprite add he did a year or two ago. So he can keep the dropping SD! ratings level if used properly.

I for one hope Sting decides not to come to WWE. Vince and company have already proven that they have no faith in WCW main eventers. Goldberg would have gotten over huge imo had he just been booked in a better manner. Instead he was jobbed out to HHH numerous times and was put in mostly lack luster feuds.

The same would most likely happen to Sting. I say let him stay away so his legacy will be remembered with some respect.
