For those of you at IOW at the time, you will all remember Adamjdays, 'Creative King of the Ring.' Good times, yes and a really enjoyable thing. So. thanks to some inspiration from the fine people at Slamwrestling, I have decided to start a tournament of my own. Brothers Of Destruction...Kane and Taker live again :D

Chazz
05-17-2004, 09:16 PM
Man, this is a tough one to call. Personally, I feel that the New Age Outlaws are one of the best tag teams ever in wrestling history. Kane and Taker don't rate that high with me as a tag team, but what each has done singles wise has to amount to something. I'm going to go with NAO in this one, simply because I feel that they are the better tag team. There is more history with Jesse and Billy as a unit than Taker and Kane. Billy and Jesse just worked well together, which is why they were so successful as a tag team. So, gotta go with NAO.

The Tumbling T

AvaBundy
05-18-2004, 08:33 PM
Chazz, with me and you we can argue and fued why cheese is yellow for a good 30 min, but I have to debate with you on this.

You see the BOD while not able to get along well, have massive potential, mainly because they are huge, Billy and Dogg, were a great team, but a lot of their greatness came from help with D-X, some of the things that they achived would have not gotten done if it weren't for their buddies, or trickery, hence why we have the outlaw rule now

AVA

*I wonder if people are going to start hating us, for fueding outside of UCW :P*

Chazz
05-18-2004, 09:05 PM
You want some of me, Ava? You want some of Chazz? Oh, it's on. It's on like donkey kong! :D You bring up a good point about NAO. Then again, Hall and Nash had the same thing and many believe they were a great tag team (which they were). BOD, if given more time together, could have been a great team and even maybe one of the best ever. But the fact that there time together was short when compared to NAO hurts there overall tag team value. Don't get me wrong. I loved Kane and Taker together as a team because it worked. In my opinion, NAO is the better team (but not by much).

AvaBundy
05-18-2004, 09:12 PM
All in all......you just proved my point for me, BOD got underrated but could have been better if given the time, hence the reason they are the better team.....

Thanks for the help :D

Brittish Bulldogs

AvaBundy
05-19-2004, 02:43 PM
Sabu and RVD, they have more fatigue, for a hardcore style bout, therefore when there are no weapons and otherthings of the sort involved they will be an exelent team and with Sabu's rough neck style, and RVD quick high flying style, they could easily take the BB

AVA

(Chazz, just agree, nod, and smile :D, your old, you don't have time to argue :D )

Peoples King
05-19-2004, 02:53 PM
Really I cant vote on this BUT if I were I would go for the BB's. RVD and Sabu, as you say, Ava do have a great mix of offence and could pound down the BBs. But Davey Boy and Dynamite are just too good for them. The Bulldogs are among the group of wrestlers that brought in a new style to the North American wrestling world. They were able to mic technical brilliance with some very innovative high flying action for the day.

IMO in this match the BB's have what it takes to ground Van Dam and Sabu. They would work over maybe Sabu and stop him from gaining momentum. After that it is easy pickings for the Brits.

Chazz
05-19-2004, 05:33 PM
The British Bulldogs would win this one hands down. They are the more established team and were one of the best tag teams in WWE and wrestling history. I just don't see RVD and Sabu beating a formidable unit like BB. Now, Ava, go ahead and change your vote.......do it now......you know you want to because you know that I am right. :D

AvaBundy
05-22-2004, 03:13 AM
Demoliton....They are a much more accomplshed team, I love E&C, but they were good TLC spot stars not much else, Demoliton is more of a powerhouse team and they just seem better.

Cmon just go with Demoliton, Chazz.

wwechick1982
05-22-2004, 04:39 AM

Next Match:
Steiner Brothers vs Hardy Boyz
Yet another clash of styles for this match up. The highflying Hardy Boyz have to go up against the unbelievabley stiff, physical and technical Steiner Brothers. Could be an interesting match up to see. Who's going to go to the next round?

12
05-23-2004, 02:35 PM
Hardyz, TLC ruled

Chazz
05-23-2004, 02:40 PM
Sorry I missed the last match. And Ava, I would have gone with E & C :D . Anyways, I'm going with the Steiner Brothers. Simply put, this was when Scott was a great wrestler and could do stuff like the Frankensteiner, while Rick was the physical one of the group. Together, they were a great tag team. Except for TLC matches, the Hardy's never really impressed me. I have always like Matt, but they just never were that great to me. So, it's the Steiner Brothers for me.

AvaBundy
05-23-2004, 05:39 PM
See, there is something I am starting to notice about these matches......I would be willing to say the people that vote for E&C and Hardys never have see Demoliton or the Steiner Bros, in matches, some of their great matches at that. Oh Well, I go with Steiner Bros on this one, and the world is going to end because me and Chazz agree, and strangly enough, for the same reasons.......

AvaBundy
05-23-2004, 05:52 PM
thats my point, im not saying its a bad thing, but the better teams would win if people (ex. You) had seen Demolition or Steiner Bros. wrestle, of course this ones not over yet :D

Peoples King
05-23-2004, 06:26 PM
Well its 2-1 now so the Steiner Bro's are in the ring. You make a good point Ava BUT thn again this was on Slam and funnily enough Steiners fought the Hardys. And the Hardys went through. Now the Slam vote had ALOT more voters and I have a feelinf that those that view Slam are of an age where they got an oppertunity to see both teams. I have seen both through tapes and I would have to say the Hardys would get my vote.

AvaBundy
05-23-2004, 06:31 PM
IMO: The Hardys could never take the Stieiners, unless it were in a TLC match

Chazz
05-23-2004, 09:43 PM
Let me add that the Steiner's are one of the best tag teams ever in wrestling history. I don't think the Hardy's rank that high.

05-25-2004, 10:26 PM
I would have to say Hart Foundation at the time they were aorund they made the tag division seem more interesting then the Heavyweight Title they were a well balanced team who had a bit of everything and thats what made them so good also Team Angle didn't really get a chance to shine at the time they came in the tag division wasn't really anything to work with so that there is unfortunate for them but yeah my vote has to go with The Hart Foundation

I've never really liked any of the teams mentioned above, but I'm going with the Road Warriors. They were the more well rounded team and I guess that's what I hoped to see in the tag division instead of makeshift teams. I guess the Rico and Charlie Haas as the tag champs on Smackdown make it more exciting(anything is more exciting than Hardcore Holly and Bradshaw in main event status!). And I guess Benoit and Edge as the tag champs on Raw gives those titles a purpose(whatever that is!).
Now, that I'm done with tirade I'm going with the Road Warriors because Hogan ad Savage did nothing worth mentioning in their careers!!

I don't really see the facination of Brother of Destruction, they were never really and established Tag-Team, as shown by them going for single titles at the same time. They got so much done for Tag Teams in the business, and they rocked the crowds, I mean thinkink of the Dudleyz (ECW/Heel WWE days) reminds me of the Faces/Heels the Road Warriors were, and if that happens it just goes to show you who the better teams were.

AvaBundy
05-28-2004, 07:28 PM
OK, I have deliberated a long time for this match.....and I have this to say

The Rockers- Exelent Showmanship, they fought hard all the time no matter what, and they even "won" the tag straps once, but Vince made it unnofical and they never got the win. They did a great deal for future people, but never quite made it off and ended it with the first ever Superkick heard round the would when HBK turned on Janetie

Edge and Christian- Man, these guys are the originatiors of TLC matches, the Conchairto, and reaking of awsomeness, they have won the tag belts multiple times and are great individual superstars, they have beaten the Hardys and the Dudleyz, and many other tag teams.

Brothers of Destruction destroy the Road Warriors on a score of 5-1. That is pretty amazing, I though this one would be close. Next match to be set up soon.

Next Match:
Edge & Christian vs Hart Foundation
We have come to our last Semi-Final and this one would be the show stealer. Edge and Christian vs the Hart Foundation. Can Canada's two brightest stars overcome the Anvil and the Canadian legend, Bret Hart? Keep in mind that Jimmy Hart could be at ringside. You decide.

Edge and Christian were a much more acomplished tag team than the Hart Foundation, and they would probaly smash the Harts to bits after a good time and wearing them down.

I don't post for a month, and The Hart Foundation is losing to Edge and Christian? Pffff, give me a break. Bret Hart is better than both Edge and Christian, and Jim isn't much worse. Hart Foundation easily.

Ladies and Gentleman the score is 5-4. The Hart Foundation are currently winning the match up. So now we must decide whether it goes on or does the Harts go through to the final.

Let's stop!! It's obvious that the Hart Foundation deserves to go on, so I vote for the next round to begin!!

I mean I like Edge and Christian ;) , but the Hart Foundation was defintely the more well rounded team and that's what I look for in a tag team!!

6-4 thank God we can now debate the final. Thanks Rach for clearing that up. I was afraid we might be here till Sunday. So the Hart Foundation goes through and the build up to the final begins.

Grand Final
Brothers of Destruction
vs
Hart Foundation

The time has come it seems for this little tournament to come to an end. It was fun and it was interesting to see who people voted for. Now then however comes the final and the rules change a bit. Out goes the voting system and in comes the debate. I will look at and listen to both arguements and then decide who deserves to be WP's World Greatest Tag Team Champions. So its the Hart Foundation that bring technical prowess and power to the table vs Brothers of Destruction who are all power. Who wins?

To me, it is all about the credibility. The Hart foundation has it. The Brothers of Destruction don't. When I think of the great tag teams, I look at not only the title reigns, but also I look at what a team meant to the tag division. The Hart Foundation gave the WWE its' best heel tag team. Together, Bret and Jim made the tag belts matter. When they defended them, it was always a big deal (especially when they fought the British Bulldogs). The BOD never really made that much of an impact. Yes, they were a good team. Yes, the fought in some good tag matches. But, the tag belts really never meant anything around them. With The Hart Foundation, it did. Bret is one of a handful of guys who has attained great status in both the tag and singles ranks. He and Jim knew how to work together and knew how to work a match with any opponent. Heck, they made the Bulldogs fans favorites because Jim and Bret knew how to get you to hate them. Simply put, the BOD has the power, but the Hart's have everything else. Hart Foundation wins.

I agree with Chazz and my vote also goes to the Hart Foundation.
I think the fact that so many people loved Bret was the deciding factor as to why the Foundation was so popular and ultimately one of the greatest tag teams of all time! I never liked the Brothers of Destruction, they had a good gimmick together and as singles, but no one really gave a **** when they had the belts. BOD were more of a gimmick team and a gimmick can only carry you so far, with the Hart Foundation it was different. Bret and Jim knew each other inside and out and they were the more credible team; they didn't need to rely on gimmicks, they were pure wrestlers something that has been debatable with BOD!!
Hands down, the Hart Foundation goes on to win the final!! If not, some chads need to be looked at carefully;) !

Ok, I gave it a few hours, and it looks as though I am the only one to step up.

Once again I go with my boys, the Brothers Of Destruction. I have gotten them this far, and won't give up now. I have said thru this whole thing, against every one they have faced, that they would over power them, and its the same way in this case, except with Jim "The Anvil" NeidHart in their corner, the Hart Foundation has some power other teams were lacking.

You see, BOD was also a team that were established as singles and as a tag team, both Kane and Taker are amazing singles competitors, former multiple champions (Undertaker: Mutliple Time WWF Champ and Hardcore Kane: WWF Champ and IC Champ and Hardcore) The only person who did something in singles was Bret (Mulitple time WWF Champ/WCW Champ, US Champ, IC Champ, KOR and Royal Rumble co-winner) Neidhart was there because Bret brought him there, he carried the team, and thats why the belts meant so much to Neidhart, cause he never got anything else.

And Im sorry Chazz, but if the tag belts didn't mean so much to BOD, then how come they fought of Kronik in some great matches, and one of the most disturbing matches in Smackdown history! They fought for the belts and the pride of WWE, they were an unstopable force, and the only thing that could stop them, and did, was them selves when Kane left due to injuries. BOD fought their hearts out every match, and they made you want to see what they would do next to their next oppoents, they were one of the first people to show us the Double Chokeslam, seeing 2 people chokeslam both of their opponets at the same time, it was amazing. And also seeing the Last Ride then Kane fly off the top rope was a great sight.

Final Result: Hart Foundation was one of the best teams of their time, and Bret won over on Undertaker a few times (not without other factors etc. Shawn Michals specail ref) but Hart never faced Undertaker one on one and won it.

Undertakers debut match was against Bret Hart, and Undertakers team won, forever leaving a mark on Hart.

What is comes down to isn't Hart Foundtation vs BOD, but eiether Undertaker vs Bret Hart of BOD vs Bret Hart. Eiether way, BOD steals the show

Winner: Brothers of Destruction

Ava, I am not saying that BOD did not have any good tag matches. They did. What I'm saying is that to me the Hart Foundation made the tag belts matter more than the BOD did. People love Kane and Undertaker, and seeing them as a team was great. However, they still never gave the tag belts the credibility that the Hart Foundation did. The fact that BOD got to the finals of this thing is a testament to both Kane and Undertaker's popularity. To me, BOD does not rank in the top ten of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history. But the Hart Foundation does rank in my top ten, so I feel they should win this tournament.

I am going to go with the Hart Foundation, BOD could not even compare with the style of Bret and Jim.

To me Kane and Taker were just another gimmick team and nothing more than that, the Hart Foundation was an awesome technical tag team that always put on a good show.

I sometimes watch old Wrestlemania videos just to experience the team work of Bret and the Anvil because their in ring performance was just that good to me.

Ok, Chazz, as I see, I didn't explain enough (my own fault, was tired)

But when Taker and Kane fought Kronik, they were fighting during the Invasion days, to protect the company and those tag straps. And they did it beautifully, every show, they fought for those belts, they fought and won both the WWE/WCW belts.

Really its not about tag team glory, one of the greatest tag teams EVER never had the straps legistically speaking (The Rockers for those of you who don't know)

All I am saying is yeah, BOD might have made it here due to popularity. But for me its different. The first WWF match Survior Series 1990, with Undertakers debut match, and ever since then he has amazed me. (Worlds biggest Undertaker fan)

As for Kane, I saw him under his Christmas Createure gimmick, and Issac Yankem. Both of these men just amazing me with their talent. Thats all I am saying.

Okay Ava, I see your point and it is a good one. Heck, I'm a Taker fan. I have always liked the guy. Kane took time for me to like, but eventually I did start liking him. I just always felt that the only reason Taker and Kane were paired together was to give Taker some gold so that he would be content. It may not have been the case, but that was how I felt. Together, they were a good tag team. Had they have spent more time together as such, Lord knows how good they could have been.

Oh and by the way, Taker had already gotten gold, and got more, they paired them cause they had nothing else to do with eiehter man creativly

Last night I was a happy little camper. I was seated infront of my computer at 12am eating Dorito's, drinking Sprite and not getting fat. Occasionlly I'd toss a Tic Tac in my mouth for that ummmmmmmmm minty fresh breath. I was happy as could be until at 2:31 in the AM I was set upon by a sick twisted ****! He called himself disturbedtoolguy and I had to agree, he was a tool. This maniac in suede shoe's assaulted me and tried to force me to give out the winner of this fine tournament in the early hours of the morning. I said no and got away from the evil claws of that sick freak. I had decided to post the winner today..................... and thats what Im going to do.

After many hours of careful thought, I and my advisors looked over the arguements and counter arguements as to who should win the sacred crown of Worlds Greatest Tag Team. Two men took part in a titanic struggle to get the win for their team, namely Chazz and Ava 'Sick Freak' Bundy. However Ava stood alone as the hoards surronded him and nearly, if given the chance, gang banged him. Yet he stodd defiant pushing Undertaker and Kane like a bat out of hell.

So now then time for me to announce the winners. The winners and the Worlds Greatest Tag Team are................

The Hart Foundation!
Sorry Ava you put up a great arguement but you were out numbered and Chazz made points that equaled yours. So it was a tie break and thus I had to take into consideration the arguements of others and so........ you ultimately got gang banged by all of them

I have to admit I am glad of that. I haven't seen too many Hart foundation matches (2) but I am glad BoD didn't win. I didn't add to the debate because I thought I hadn't seen enough of HF to comment but I'm glad of the result anyway. Well done to PK for keeping this thread goin for so long, has been good

You know.....its cool......but the only thing that I took offense to was PK calling me a tool...... :cussing: :2up:

It was good, its a damn shame that I had to fight for BOD alone, basically the entire way thru...oh well there still the WGTT in my book :D

and BTW PK, the Tool part of my name is for the band Tool, one of the greatest of all time....but im chaning my AIM name anyway :D
