3PW RESULTS FROM PHILLY WITH DANIELS VS. STYLES
by Buck Woodward @ 2:05:00 AM on 5/16/2004
Results from the May 15th 3PW show at the ECW Arena in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:
- Rob Eckos defeated Nate Matson.
- Ruckus defeated Mike Kruel and Damian Adams in a three way match.
- Tod Gordon's "Sugar Shack" interview segment saw him berate Roadkill, telling him that he had lost the hunger he had in ECW. Gordon had Jasmin St. Claire slap Roadkill to fire him up, and gave Roadkill Jasmin's managerial guidance for his match with the Blue Meanie.
- Jack Victory & Rockin' Rebel defeated Ron Zombie & Don E. Allen.
- CJ O'Doyle defeated Pitbull Gary Wolfe. Following the match, Wolfe destroyed O'Doyle, putting him through two tables and leaving him laying on the arena floor.
- Roadkill, with Jasmin St. Claire, defeated The Blue Meanie.
- Jerry Lynn defeated 3PW Heavyweight Champion Joey Matthews by countout when Matthews walked out of the building with the belt. Lynn got on the mic afterwards and demanded a No DQ, No Countout, Falls Count Anywhere match with Matthews for the next show.
- Slyk Wagner Brown & April Hunter, with Tod Gordon, defeated "Macho Man" Matt Striker & Miss Talia when April pinned Striker after a spinebuster following a Slyk superkick. After the match, Talia turned on Striker, saying she would rather be a slave to a real man, than hang around a "boy" like him. Talia then voluntarily put on her old leash, and left with Tod Gordon. Striker seemed despondent afterwards, and Rob Eckos came to the ring to tell Striker that he didn't need the silly gimmicks to be a star.
- Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles went to a 30 minute draw in an incredible match. They asked for five more minutes, received them, and went to another draw. Daniels refused to go another five minutes, saying the fans already got their money's worth, and left. Styles was NOT introduced as the NWA World Champion, and did not wear the belt to the ring.
3PW will return to the ECW Arena on June 19th with Jerry Lynn vs. Joey Matthews in a Falls Count Anywhere match, and Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles in a match with a 60 minute time limit in which there must be a winner.

Well this is my first full report in some time. It was a pretty short show, i'm awake, and I remember everything that happend, so I decided to do a report. I'll still probably be off on some things though
Attendance was around 200 people. Lowest attendance to date if I recall. I think the Flyers game played a huge role though...
Just some notes/results of the show:
The New Alhambra Arena, or Viking Hall, is totally remodeled. The stage that ECW made popular with guys jumping off the top, is gone. Not only that, but so is the upper staging area where people like Heyman, Zandig, the announcers, camera, etc used to be during the show. On the left above the entrance way is a platform, which I think are the "luxury" boxes for special guests. Wrestlers were watching the show from there all night. There are no longer any bleachers. It's all chairs. All of the bingo boards have been taken down, and everything is freshly painted. It actually looks like a professional arena now. The new arena lighting is similar to that used at ROH shows, with the whole arena dark, except for the ring area. Looks very professional. There is also a permanent ticket window as you enter the building. The "Raven's Nest" as some people used to call it (where the Eagles sat at an ECW show years back) is also totally remodeled. Steps are now added to the side so you can go up it. This is where some of the production guys are. In the same spot, there is also a new ledge that was built, specifically for commentary and the house camera. All of the ECW arena signs have also been removed from the building. It's like destroying a land mark, but at the same time it really needed to be done. A couple people told me that in the future, the building will be air-conditioned, and one person told me it already is. 3PW also used to CZW ring for the 2nd or 3rd month in a row. I'm not sure why.
Matches: (In order)
Rob Eckos d. N8 Mattson. Basic match, nothing special.
Ruckus d. Mike Kruel and Damian Adams in a 3 way bout. Ruckus is way over with the Philly fans. Match was pretty decent, and seeing Ruckus do the stuff he does at his size is always pretty cool.
Jack Victory and Rockin Rebel d. Ron Zombie and Don E Allen in a match that involved comedy.
In what was billed as a teacher vs. student match, CJ O Doyle d. "Pitbull" Gary Wolfe. Post match saw Wolfe put CJ through 2 tables.
Roadkill d. The Blue Meanie after Roadkill put 2 chairs together and threw meanie on them, crushing both of them. Storyline here is that Gordon wants Roadkill to be like he was in ECW, and be "ANGRY" again.
In the 3PW World Championship Title Match, Jerry Lynn defeated Joey Matthews by count out after Matthews grabbed his title and left the building through the front door. Matthews was billed from "Jim Cornette's Ohio Valley Wrestling." Hot match that saw Lynn get most of the offense. Lynn got on the mic after Matthews walked off and called him a *****, and said next month he wants him in a no holds barred match for the title. A ton of "**** TNA" chants directed at Lynn, who acknowledged them and laughed.
Slyk Wagner Brown and April Hunter d. Matt "Macho Man" Striker (he does an awesome imitation by the way) and Miss Taila. Pretty good match. Even Taila hit some nice high-risk moves, as did Hunter. Post match saw Taila turn on Striker and side with Gordon.
AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels wrestled to a draw. Again, a ton of "**** TNA" chants directed at both men at the start. That can't be good. This match was nothing short of amazing, and is a must see match. It's amazing what these guys are capable of doing, but in TNA, they don't even come close to half of theie full potential, especially Daniels. It was announced at the start of the show, that every match on the card has a 30 minute time limit. 30 minutes came, and after the fans chanted 5 more minutes, they agreed and wrestled to a draw. Crowd was extremely hot for this match, and was easily the best match on the show. After they went 35 minutes, Daniels asked the fans if they wanted 5 more minutes. Fans erupted. Daniels then says the fans already got their moneys worth for the night and insulted Styles. Styles got on the mic (not sure if it's a new mic system, or because the speakers were moved to a different side of the building, but for the first time in awhile you could understand what was being said over the mic) and said maybe the reason Daniels couldn't defeat him because of his age, and next month he wanted a rematch and doesn't care if it takes 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30, 40, 50, or 60 minutes. Daniels accepted. They may be building towards a 60 minute iron man match. This match alone was worth the 25 dollar ringside seat, and was definitely the best match the promotion has ever had in my opinion.
3PW returns to Viking Hall, or whatever you want to call it, on June 19th. I saw a pretty decent amount of people at the ticket window after the show buying tickets for the 19th, which is a good sign. So far, it looks like it will have Matthews vs Lynn in a no holds barred match, and Aj Styles vs Christopher Daniels in a possible 60 minute match.

This look's a pretty average show!!!!
Shame Lynn/Matthews ended on Count out, I'd love to have seen them go at it for a Longer amount of time and see the match end cleanly. Infact i'm looking forward too there next match, Infact it should be a good match.
Styles/Daniels loook's to be the MOTN, Infact i'm really looking forward to see this one, It should be interesting and i hope it's alot like there other encounters from RoH. Infact it's quite interesting to see them Building towards a Possible 60 Minuet Match, I Rekon that they could possibly do some good work.
The rest of the card look's pretty Meh, Shame that there was No Raven on the card, other than that whats your thoughts?
