Well kiddies this week on the Big Picture I am goin to take some advice and I am going to continue a topic I talked about a few weeks back. And that topic was the current state of the WWE.
Now in my last column on this topic I disscused what I thought about the current state of the WWE. In my oppinion the WWE is not delivering. RAW is doing ok but even they are beginning to struggle. I mean RAW has the talent there. RAW has guys like Mick Foley, Shawn Micheals, Triple H, Kane, guys who should know by now how to draw a crowd. RAW in my oppinion has no excuse to not be good. Ok lets go into further detail on the subject.
Lets start off with the Matt Hardy/Lita/Kane angle. My only question here is WHY? Matt Hardy turns on Lita and then turns right around and starts helping her when Kane starts messing with her. Why. This story makes no sense what so ever. Why have Matt break up with Lita only to help her. And while we are on the topic of Lita. Someone said something about Lita wanting revenge on Christian for the bet with Jericho. I too would like to know why she has not went to any trouble to get revenge. If it were me I would want revenge. Again WWE Dropped another good story line. I do like the Trish Heel angle. But Lita could have teamed up with Jericho to take on Trish and Christian. There was a better way to handle the story. Instead Lita gets put into a story line makes no sense.
It seems when WWE comes up with a good story line they destroy 2 or 3 others in the proccess. If this were me Instead of throwing away 2 or 3 good story lines just to make one good story line, I would use the 2 or 3 and give other talent a chance to be on the show.
Another example was the Goldberg Brock Lesnar Match at Mania. Now Why in the world the WWE would hype a match like this when they knew they were both leaving is beyond me. I had no intrest in the match. And what is even sadder is that the WWE realized this was a mistake so they throw Stone Cold in the mix to try and salvage the match. And not only did it not help the match it in my oppinion made Austin look bad for being involved in such a stupid ass match. And to top it all off a guy dressed as Hulk Hogan got more of a reaction than Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. Thats sad. Here is what I would have done. I would have CANCELLED the match. There was no reason for the two to fight they were both leaving so therefore there was no interest in the match.
Next up is the Smackdown! brand. Now Smackdown seems to get all the left overs from RAW. Now I will give it to WWE. I think making Eddie Guerrero the CHampion was a good idea. And I also like the JBL angle. But hwats the deal with having Eddie Guerrero arrested every week. They are running this into the ground.
And I think that WWE should stop changing GMs for Smackdown. It makes Smackdown look weak. I think they should bring back Stehpanie McMahon even if it is just for eye candy purposes. I think she is a very good looking women. They should bring here back and let Kurt wrestle again when he gets his neck problems out of the way.
And speaking of injuries. I think the WWE should slow down the in ring work a little bit, and what I mean by that is they should stop letting talent take major big bumps on RAW and Smackdown and save the really big bumps for PPVs. This I think would eliminate having so much talent out due to injuries. Take Kurt for example. He just had neck surgery and he is already hurt again.
Also Hardcore Holly had a good angle started when he returned. I thought they might accually give him a push. Instead they just stopped using him altogether. Why? Holly has the talent and the look to be a main eventer. And they give him one title shot and thats it. I would have let him fued on with Eddie Guerrero or something. I would like to see JBL and Holly fued. I like the JBL angle but they are pushing him too fast. I think John Cena needs to get the title shots. He proves every week he knows how to draw a crowd. When he came out at Mania he got a Hulk Hogan like ovation. It was un believable. But WWE ignores that and instead gives the shot to somebody else. I dont think a gimick change can solve everything in 1 months time.
And last for Smackdown is the Undertaker Gimick. WHat is the deal here. Are they going to use him on TV or not. They say no they will only use him for speacial occations and then next week he is on tv. They are running his character in the ground as well. He needs to look more dead. He is not pale enough. They are trying to combine the Badass and Deadman gimicks. I think he should have came back the Deadman Badass and then evolve into just the deadman. That would be great. Where he comes out and doesnt say a word and just kicks ass. Thats what I would do with Taker. Even maybe one last title run. putting him against Booker T was also a good move I think. Booker is a good talent and so is Taker. This is a fued I have been wanting to see for a while. And the WWE finally use their heads on this one. But the negatives far out weigh the positives.
Anyway thats just my take on the WWE as a whole. They just need to improve the product and stop ending story lines for no reason. The only good long lasting story lines they have that are accually good are the Jericho Christian angle and the Mick Foley Orton Angle. The Triple H, Shawn Micheals, Triple H angle is old. I cant believe WWE Accually gave us the same main event two months in a row. That is a first and I thought it sucked. I had no interest in watching the PPV.
Well anyways these are just my oppinions. Until next week this has been Cena316 saying dont forget to look at The Big Picture......
