Part of the reason why many of the top babyfaces hometowns have been changed around so that they are now from the United States, is akin to the Hirohito character's planned debut, because the plan was for Hirohito to come in hating Americans - but at the time the idea was formed most of the top babyfaces on RAW were Canadian, so there was a slight problem with the way this was set up.
Kenzo Suzuki has been under WWE contract for several months and has been living in New York with his wife since he signed with the company. After signing, Kenzo spent a bit of time in OVW, probably no more than a month or two, and did not appear on OVW TV.
As reported yesterday, the Hirohito name and gimmick has been dropped as of last week while WWE re-evaluates what they want to do with Kenzo. He is still lined up for a big push, though it may not be quite at the level that it was first planned to be. Word going around is that Kenzo will be accompanied by a manager/bodyguard as well as a woman, whom would come down to the ring with him. That's almost funny and sad at the same time. Isn't there already enought anti-American crap in the WWE programming already?!?
There seems to be a lot of confusion over the apparent firing of Brian “Grandmaster Sexay” Lawler. To clear that up, his release has not yet been officially announced by the WWE. The news of his apparent firing is only word of mouth, most believed to be started by Brian Lawler himself. I swear....if he's not even gone, I will not be happy!
John Bradshaw Layfield has updated his column on WWE.com with some harsh remarks for internet fans and his detractors. Regarding this coming Sunday's Judgment Day PPV where he will face Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Title:
I am in the best wrestling shape I have been in in years. If we go a half an hour, I will be ready. For those of you fat, out-of-shape Internet wannabes who have never done anything more athletic than play checkers, kiss my ass for doubting me, and realize why you hate me. I was the guy in school who made you do my homework and locked you in your locker.
JBL will deliver Sunday and you can “report” whatever you want, but you will also realize how little influence you have, except to your little nerd friends. How long has it been since you guys that spend all your time reporting on us have been with a woman other than your mother? After all, when I see you in airports hanging out, you are always with guys. You guys don’t have a questionable sexual orientation, do you? Of course, it is 2004, I don’t judge.
Wow. Wait till the buyrate, pal. Can he really blame us for hating his out of nowhere main event push? I mean, he's been a mid-carder all his carrer! If JD proves anything, it will prove that JBL isn't ready for main event.
As of right now the plan for Heyman long-term is that he will most likely establish a "renegade" group loaded up of ex-ECW talent, that will break away from the WWE name. The group may, or may not, be labeled "ECW"
I hope this happens. WWE is REALLY slacking right now!!
Tough Enough 3 winner Matt Cappotelli (who is expected to debut on SmackDown! in the next few weeks) is feeling much better from a concussion he suffered last month while working a match against Bob Holly at a SmackDown! house show. He had been suffering from dizziness and headaches similar to what Christopher Nowinski is experiencing.
Speaking of Nowinski, there is still no timetable for his return, if ever. If he is not able to return, WWE will likely find him another position within the company as he is very well liked. IMO, Matt should've been the challenger in the first place!! Hope Nowinski comes back soon.....he was pretty good from what I remember.
