In probally 50 seperate posts I made references to how attendance affects everything the fed does, and how it rises, falls and what not. Well, I'm finally going to make a post decicated to it so we can not only keep track of our attendance, but also find out what happens when the attendance rises, falls, and what it really impacts.
First off, attendance rises and falls in two ways.
Show Quality - The overall opinion of all paties involved of the show quality. If the show stunk, obviously, attendance will suffer. If the show ruled, then attendance will raise. This stat is pretty loose as it's based on the overall opinion of those who are unbiased.
Reviews - The number of reviews we get in a week greatly affects attendance. If the show completely bombs, I mean sucks really really bad, but we get at least 10 reviews for it then attandance won't fall one bit. If the show was really really good, but only one person reviewed it, attendance won't rise at all, and will most likely drop. The number of reviews we get in a week is the biggest factor in attendance, because they are the biggest insight to how we are all doing.
Now that we know how attdance rises and drops, it's time we took a deeper look at attendance figures, and what they really mean to the fed.
With rising attendance we are able to...
- Visit Bigger Arenas.
- Gain the money to purchase more match types.
- Travel more.
Sure, these are all cosmetic features, but here's one that's not, and that is just being announced now. When our attendance rises to certain marker points, we will get rewards in the form of turmoil cards, and badges.
What are badges? Simply notiations on your website profile that you were an active member of the WPW roster when it passed a marker point. The Turmoil Cards you will recieve, well, that's still a surprise for somewhere down the line.
Now, let's clear things up a little bit. I've gotten question in the past about "Why did the attendance suddenly drop when the last show was good". Since attendance is a word of mouth issue, the attendance will always reflect last week's show and reviews, but location also comes into play.
See, WPW is a detailed fed, and I'm not joking when I saw Madison Square Garden and the Staples Center are years away, they are. Attendance isn't a global figure, because realisicly, being popular in America doesn't make you popular in Japan, and nor will being popular in Florida make you instantly popular in Washington. There are regions, and each region has it's own specific attendance marker which starts at 50 and works it's way up. The only exception to this, are the states in the South East. Since WPW is based in the South East, the loyalty factor comes in and these six states' attendance starts at 300 instead of 50.
Confused? Maybe this will clear it up for you.
Every single region has different attendance markers, and keeps track of the highest attendance we got there and will be used as a base attendance before quality and reviews factor in to change the number. Our goal is to make every region rise, which will take a long time, but will be very fun to do.
Here is the complete region breakdown for the South East.
Florida
Northeastern Florida - 631
Northwestern Florida - 604
Southeastern Florida - 628
Southwestern Florida - 600
Georgia
Atlanta & Vicinity - 300
Northwestern Georgia - 300
Southeastern Georgia - 300
Southwestern Georgia - 300
Northeastern Georgia - 300
Alabama
Northern Alabama - 300
Southern Alabama - 300
Mississippi
Northern Mississippi - 300
Southern Mississippi - 442
Louisiana
Northern Louisiana - 300
South Central Louisiana - 300
South Eastern Louisiana - 368
Tennessee
Central Tennessee - 300
Western Tennessee - 300
Eastern Tennessee - 300
The numbers to the right of the region are the attendance figures for the region. This list here will NOT be updated, and is only used as an example, as I will keep the list myself on my own computer, but it would be pretty easy to follow along yourself if you're interested in doing so, as all you have to do is write down the last attendance number in the region and that's where we're at. I may make this data avaliable in the future for events or reasons, but for the most part, it's not too hard to figure out or track yourself.
Now let me tell you about attendance markers, what they are, and what happens when we reach them.
Attendance markers are set attendance values that when reached, allow us to begin booking shows in larger arenas. When we hit a marker, the areas we were previously booking shows in will more typically be seen for live events, and we'll move up a mark on the arenas we're able to compete in. These markers in attendance are static for every area, and are accompanied with loyalty ranks, and those are...
0 - Aweful
300 - Bad
1000 - Poor
2000 - Below Average
5000 - Average
10000 - Above Average
15000 - Good
30000 - Great
50000 - Outstanding
75000 - Godlike
Once we pass one of those markers, attendance will never drop below that static number again as we've just become more popular in the area, and that set amount of people become loyalists. When we pass that marker in any given region, you are also given a badge that is viewable on your website profile stating you were active then that marker was passed. The badge is purely cosmetic, and is just there to show your dedication and loyalty.
Now, when an entire state moves up a mark, that's when something else happens. Let's take Florida, where we've been working the most. The attendances there are rounding out at 600 right now, but when all four regions in Florida rise above 1000, if you are an active member of the roster when it happens you not only recieve The Florida badge, but you will recieve a special limited edition Turmoil card that is unattainable in any other way. It takes alot of work to get these, but there will be a few unique variations to the cards as well, and it will be a fun item to grab. Sorry, no more spoilers abot them.
Now, when an entire region of a country rises, in this case the south eastern United States, you will get the same deal. For that to happen, each region in each states attendance has to pass the milestone. It takes a long while, but it can happen, and will happen.
I hope I answered some questions and shed some light on what the attendance tab at the top of every show means to all of us now, and I hope we can all work together on reviewing the show to make that baby rise and help WPW earn every step of it's success.
