Shark Boy vs. Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal vs. Senshi
We get right into it this week. Lethal and Senshi start with the fans chanting “Low Ki.” After a few moves, Shelley blind tags Senshi. Lethal tags in Shark Boy as per Shelley’s weird request. Shelley with a shoulderblock. My damn phone rang and I had to go answer it. Senshi and Shark Boy are going at it now. Senshi off the rope with a kick to Shelley’s head. Lethal with a kick off the rope onto Senshi. Shelley cuts off Lethal going upstairs and bites him. Oh oh. Awesome tower of doom involving all four participants. They’re showing the Spanish announce table again with Konnan and LAX refusing to work or something. Is this “angle” going anywhere? Shark Boy goes for the DDS, but gets caught by Shelley. Senshi with a lethal running dropkick into Shelley, who backs into Lethal. Senshi with an insane stomp off the top onto Lethal’s ribcage. Senshi gets the pin on Lethal for the win.
Winner: Senshi
Here comes Kevin Nash. He’s hovering over Lethal. Powerbomb. This is so stupid. Shelley tapes it. Nash says he is soon to be X Division Champion. He starts speaking in a southern accent for some reason. And Lame-o was his name-o.
JB is in the back with JJ, Monty Brown, and Scott Steiner behind him loosening up.
Christy tells us Sting will speak next. Thank you, Christy.
King of the Mountain match video package explaining the rule and regulations. Abyss qualified last week to be involved.
Diamonds in the Rough vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels
I thought Sting was next? Christy, how could you? The Diamonds attack early on to no avail. Sweet tag team move onto Young by AJ and Daniels. Daniels with a kick to Young. AJ comes in with a knee drop onto Young’s face. Young gains control and slams AJ down hard. Skipper with the rope walking hurricanrana spot onto AJ. Young is tagged in and the Diamonds double team AJ until he hits a reverse double DDT off the middle rope. Daniels comes in and cleans house. AJ springs off Young onto Skipper on the outside. That was sick. AJ’s feet smacked the rail hard. AMW comes in while the ref is outside checking on AJ and Skipper. Harris whacks Daniels in the head with a night stick after Daniels had hit the Angel’s Wings on Young. Young’s arm is draped over Daniels by Harris and the ref comes back in and counts the pin.
Winners: The Diamonds in the Rough
Sting says he will remove Jeff Jarrett from TNA. He basically says also that he will be in the King of the Mountain match.
Christy says a King of the Mountain qualifier is next. She better not lie to me again.
What the hell is this? Tenay and West are calling a Tiger Woods look-alike golfing. Jeff Jarrett hits him with a guitar. It’s a Slammiversary promo.
Oh my God. Team 3D’s music hits and they come out….wait, it’s The James Gang dressed like them. Brother Ray’s gut is huge. Kipp looks hilarious as Devon. He does a good job with “Oh my brotha, TES-TI-FY!” BG rips on 3D as Kipp keeps saying Devon’s signature phrase. BG: “I’ve been eatin’ for two.” Tenay: “Oh, that was stiff.” BG takes off the outfit and gets down to business. He says (again) that they are the best tag team ever. They get a mixed reaction from the crowd. Not as good as the parodies in the good ole days, but pretty funny nonetheless.
Raven says he’s won the KotM match and Jarrett has won one, so as far as he’s concerned, the tie needs to be broken…by him winning of course.
JB is with Jarrett and Steiner. Jarrett says he’ll become the champion again at Slammiversary. Steiner says he wants Sting tonight. He then talks trash to Samoa Joe. “Nobody eyeballs Big Bad Booty Daddy!” Ok then.
Bobby Roode (w/ Coach D’Amore) vs. Andy Douglas
Back and forth shoving before Douglas hits a big back body drop on Roode and kicks him outside the ring. They go back in and Roode misses an elbow. A back elbow by Roode puts him in control. Irish whip into the corner for Douglas. Boot to the face by Roode. Sideslam and 2 count by Roode. Roode with a headlock. Douglas fights out and hits a knee into Roode’s chest off the rope. Neckbreaker and a 2 count by Douglas. After some running, Northern Lariat by Roode. He covers for the easy win.
Winner: Bobby Roode
D’Amore kicks Douglas outside the ring and Roode grabs a chair. Chase Stevens runs out to make the save. The rest of Team Canada comes down to beat on Stevens. Rhino runs down and cleans house. Gore on A1 after Roode ducks out of the way. Team Canada retreats up the ramp. Rhino grabs the mic and announces that it will be him vs. Bobby Roode and any member of Team Canada that he chooses at Slammiversary. Rhino picks Coach D’Amore and D’Amore falls over in fear. Shane Douglas is talking to The Naturals from the other ramp.
JB is with Ron Killings. Um, he raps a little. The jist of it: he will win at Slammiversary.
Final Resolution DVD commercial.
King of the Mountain qualifying match time. Christian Cage comes out to do guest commentary for this match.
Monty Brown vs. Ron Killings
The crowd is really into the “Was Up” thing. I would be too. Brown attacks him from behind while Truth is still dancing. Truth with a dropkick off the top while Brown is mocking the crowd. Brown punches Truth off the apron into the rail. Commercial break. Argh, I was going to compliment TNA for not interrupting any matches with commercials for once. They had to ruin it. Truth goes over the top onto Brown on the outside as we return. By the announce table, Brown stares down Christian before beating on Truth. Truth fights back a bit inside the ring. A leg lariat drops Brown. After some pin attempts, an Alpha Bomb lays out Truth. Brown gets a 2 count. Over head release slam by Brown. He goes for the Pounce, but truth grabs the ropes. Truth with a roll up for the win.
Winner: Ron Killings
A package recapping the episode wraps things up.
This was a really good episode. To recap, Kevin Nash doesn’t like the X Division wrestlers, AMW costs AJ and Daniels a win, The James Gang revert to old tactics in poking fun at Team 3D, Scott D’Amore will wrestle at Slammiversary, and Abyss and Ron Killings are the first two into the King of the Mountain match.
