Dave Scherer reports that Jim Cornette has agreed to terms with TNA Wrestling and is set to become the new "authority figure".

Cornette has always been able to cut great promos and can sell storylines. This is a great asset to TNA.

Cornette was last seen writing OVW TV but was released after a student from OVW claimed Cornette verbally and physically abused him.

I think Cornette will be a great edition to TNA, he has done an awesome job as the Commishioner of ROH and i think he can do the same for TNA, he's a lot better then Zbysko anyways. Hopefully Cornette will get a place on the booking team to as he did a really good job with OVW and should be allowed to bring that to TNA. All they need to do is sign Heyman and TNA will have one of the most formiddable booking teams ever. Also an on screen partnership between Cornette and Heyman would be awesome i mean they have to have more then one guy in Management as that makes the booking better as you have one support the face and the other support the heels it would just work.

But yeah i think signing Cornette is really good for TNA and he should provide some really entertaining promo's as the boss. What do you think?

Just a quick update on this situation

There are some conflicting reports making the rounds following the news reported earlier today by PWInsider.com about Jim Cornette coming to a deal with TNA.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that although Cornette has been talking with TNA, an official deal or contract has yet to be signed as of now. It should also be noted that Cornette is undergoing knee surgery on Tuesday and wouldn't be able to appear for TNA in the next few months anyways.

I hope Cornette does sign with TNA as it would be great for both parties involved specially for TNA.

So I have a question. Did TNA first come up with this angle and then decide who will fill in?

I hate when they do that (WWE, WCW, ECW, or whoever). Get the person first then do the angle.
