Lance Storm vs. Bryan Danielson Signed

Lance Storm has won titles everywhere he has gone from Japan to SMW to ECW to WCW to WWE. He retired from the ring last June with no reason to ever return. Now Storm has the itch and it is all because of one athlete. He has found his love for the sport of pro wrestling again and it is because of ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson.

Storm and Danielson came face-to-face at "Steel Cage Warfare" on December 3rd. Storm told Danielson that if he were ever to come out of retirement it would be to wrestle someone like him. Since that time the itch began to grow in Storm and he felt the need to return to the ring to compete against Danielson.

Storm has signed one of Bryan Danielson's open contracts for a World Title shot. It will be Lance Storm vs. Bryan Danielson for the ROH World Title on April 1st in Chicago (ROHwrestling.com, 215-781-2500, Ticketmaster outlets for tickets and info). Of course, Danielson must still be champion on April 1st. Even if Danielson loses the belt, it will still be Danielson vs. Storm on 4/1 in Chicago.

"After a 10 month absence, I will be returning to active competition April 1st to challenge the current ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson," Storm said. "I now have 10 weeks to get myself in the best shape of my life. I have never been more focused or set in a direction as I am right now. My only hope is that he is still the Champion come April 1st as a World Title run is the only thing that has eluded me in my career."

WOW! I seriously can not believe ROH have been able to coach Storm out of retirement or more Danielson. I know this could just be ROH playing up Danielson but i honeslty believe that the skill of Danielson is what made Storm do this as he did plan to have hung up his boots for good. But once you see a guy like Danielson any wreslter in the world would want to mix it up with him and i am sure Storm thought "damn i could have one hell of a match against that guy".

I don't know why but i am really routing for Storm to win this one. I know it would be weird since he hasn't paid his dues in ROH and that is a big thing in the company but looking back at ECW One Night Stand and his match with Chris Jericho, Storm definatley didn't look like a guy ready for retirement. So for him to come back and win the ROH Title would atleast mean he is coming out of retirement for a period of time rather then just one match. Also as Storm said he has never won a World Title so for him to finally do that is definatley a better way to go out. There are loads of guys in ROH who i would like to see mix it up with Lance Storm and i imagine the things he could teach many of the younger guys on the roster would be a big help.

Still no matter what happens i am excited for April 1st as i expect a damn good match with a possible title change. What do you guys think?

Wow. All I can really say is that this will be one hell of a match. I can only hope this match will live up to the very high expectations that will surely be placed on it.

This could be good. He shouldn't win. But the match itself could be good. I wouldn't mind a draw and them have a many feud with Storm working a some other dates for the company leading up to a decisive rematch between him and Danielson.

When I first saw this match announced, I nearly fell out of my chair. This is just all kinds of awesome and I totally can't wait for it. As for Storm winning, I can't see that happening as I kinda figured this was just a one night thing.

I need a a fresh pair of jocks! This is going to be the match that sets the bar for the rest of the year. My God this is going to be incredible. Both men are Gods of the mat. Christ I need a third fresh set of jocks!

Just me that doesnt' really care? Thought so....I think you might be alone here Gary. Do you care to explain why you don't care?

Don’t get me wrong it should be a decent match, and if Danielson’s on his game it’ll be a **** affair and I doubt it’ll be *****, Regardless of the ring rust storm has I find him vastly overrated and don’t see him being able to do anything different to say Matt Hardy, Yes he was given the shaft in the WWE but that simply doesn’t change how I feel.

I also hate the Indy wank fest that arises during these situations too; fair enough it adds a lot of Buzz in to the product, just like when Foley & Hardy entered RoH. But Go take a look at the RoH board. All those little fuckers are acting like its Chris F’n Benoit that’s on his way in too the company.

Storm will have done well to stave off ring rust, he runs his own wrestling school so he is always in or about a ring. This works to his advantage in the same way it did to HBKs advantage. Lance Storm is far from overreated, he is much under appreciated in the wrestling world. Sure there were alot of Storm bandwagon jumpers when he announced his retirement but on the whole people dont give Storm half the props he deserved. Among wrestlers Storm is considered one of the absolute best of his generation, truth is there are no better people to critique him.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll like this if its Impact Player/WCW Canadian Heel lance, but I’ll take a pass if its any other period, you know why? It’d fucking suck. Danielson, and Storm are both going to have to go in to this one with there working shoes on, too make it live up to the expectations that have already been set on this one. If you think about it, Storms probably only had two matches since Mania XX considering he was training down in OVW, There defiantly be ring rust.

The idea of a “Dream Match is great, and too date Danielson has only really defended against the RoH midcard of guys like Strong who’s not even the “Main Man” in the faction he’s in, Romero who is in the same position as strong too Sabin, Azreal. Danielsons most “High Profile” matches so far is against Steve Corino, another ECW Alumni.

Yet RoH have teased dream matches before Punk/Steamboat, Joe/Foley, Punk/Funk etc. I was intrigued by the idea of Joe/Foley, yet I thought it’d probably be like Kawada/Foley and would be enough to elevate Joe. Same as Punk/Steamboat, which was designed straight after the Raven program, too keep Punk over. In comparison, Lance Storm is just an ECW Midcarder.

You may have a point on the expectations but I personally believe if any two can live up to the expectations then it is Danielson/Storm. Both guys know their way around the ring. Storm is just going to be Storm in this match, he will just be letting his wrestling do the talking. The match is just so intrigueing to me. Two great grapplers and then you have Lance Storms unebelievable athletic ablility thrown in. This match could turn into something special and memorable. If it delivers half of what is expected then it is going to be something to behold. It will be hard for it to live up to the incredble expectation being set on it but I think you can more or less garuntee ****.

Well it seems Lance Storm has decided to address the fans and emails about him heading to ROH. And also Storm accidentally seems to hint at something quite interesting.

Lance Storm posted the following message on his official website StormWrestling.com responding to fan inquiries about his advertised return to the ring on Saturday 4/1 for Ring of Honor in Chicago Ridge, Illinois against ROH champion Bryan Danielson:

"In answer to the many emails I have received: Yes, the rumours are true; I'm coming out of retirement and returning to action to Challenge Bryan Danielson on the April 1st ROH show in Chicago, Ill. I am very hopeful that Bryan will still be ROH Champion at this time, as it would enable our match to be for the ROH World Title.
Why is usually the next question, and there are several reasons behind this decision. I did an appearance for ROH in New York back in December and I was very impressed with the ROH product, the great ROH fans, and most of all the wrestling ability of Bryan Danielson. That night sparked my interest in returning to the ring and ROH has agreed to work around my Storm Wrestling Academy commitments. If you have plans to attend Storm Wrestling Academy fear not, my training schedule will be unaffected by ROH dates. I hope you are as excited about my return to action as I am, and I hope to see some of you in Chicago.

Lance Storm"

It's interesting to note that Storm noted "dates" which would indicate there are additional plans involving Storm and ROH in the future.

So Storm may be sticking around in ROH. You have to think that ROH would want him to stick around as with the talent ROH have Storm could of some great matches and would also be a name in which ROH could use to advertise and maybe bring in some interest from fans who have never looked at ROH before. Either way Storm/Danielson will be great and if Storm stays on that's even better.

Storm also said on a radio show I was listening to that he doesn't want this to be a one shot deal and he hopes to be around a fair bit. So..let the celebration begin. :)

Does the prospect of Joe/Storm, or Storm/Strong make any one ejaculate?

I'd love too see those, ALOT more than the Danielson match.

Indeed they would both be great matches. But still i'm more prone to be interested in the pure scientific style of wrestling that will take place between Storm and Danielson. I mean they way i look at it, it would seem Storm is looking to stick around so i guess we can all be happy and know that we're gonna see a little bit of everything from Storm no matter what we are fans of.

P.S How long before ROH build Strong up as someone capable of taking the World Title? I now he's had his shot's against Danielson but even then he wasn't really considered a real threat. I vote Strong to be the guy to take the belt off of Danielson.

Storm/Joe certainly makes me ejaculate just as much as Storm/Danielson if not more so. That answer your question Gary? Oh yeah and I have given up on jocks so now I just have to go and change my pants.
