Dave Meltzer is reporting that TNA is looking at the following list of indy wrestlers to possibly sign or give tryout matches to: Kevin Steen, El Generico, Jack Evans, Teddy Hart, Harry Smith, Cody Steele, Mike Foxx - and Matt Sydal who both AJ Styles and Samoa Joe have both been trying to get into TNA.

I have heard of El Generico, Teddy Hart, and Harry Smith but the rest I never have and wasn't Harry Smith suppose to have a WWE tryout? He is the son of the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith right?

Anyway I wonder if this will help TNA, the problem with TNA as of late is they sign new talent to try and compete with the WWE but that doesn't work, it worked for WCW during the Monday night wars.

New talent is always good but I just fear that they will have too big of a roster sort of like how WWE has always had, one more thing that bugs me is they have superstars do one time shows like how they had Jushin "Thunder" Liger at Bound For Glory.

The guys that do one time spots are the kind of guys I wish they could sign
:wink1:

IIRC, Smith rejected an offer to work in WWE, So that he could develop his craft by working around the world ala Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith, and More than likely Like Chris Benoit. I vaguely remember a story, that Davey made McMahon promise on signing Smith to a contract when he’s ready.

From what I’ve heard, and the bits I’ve seen, He’s rather impressive.

WCW signed/stole established names from the WWF in the form of Savage, Luger, Nash, Hall, Hogan (Fresh off of the steroid scandal), Comparing TNA, too WCW is slightly retarded, considering there yet to sign an established name. The good thing with there new talent is that they are fresh, and have everything to offer this industry. Problem is with half of these new guys is a) they look like shit, b) seem to look fucking generic, and c) all have the same (more often than not) shiffy offence.

Ideally TNA need to refrain from bringing in any more guys, There roster has far to many workers on it as it is, and half the people don’t wind up getting booked. Take a look at the LAX/Generation Next guys, Straight off having one of the best matches on Impact, There back to having nothing.

If TNA have the urge to sign any one else, they need to be able to place the person they sign in a said position, as opposed to shifting them around the card

TNA, and NJPW have a working agreement. Meaning, they loan each other said workers, for said dates. It’s also highly unlikely Liger would sign on to work permanently in the US sacrificing his Japanese commitments.
