A Desire video package is shown featuring Vince McMahon. In it he talks about his accomplishments like Wrestlemania, The Federation years and the Attitude era. He talks about Bret Hart, Stone Cold, Rock, HBK and Hulk Hogan. He mentions the steroid scandal being a dark time in his life. He talks about his family and how he is proud of Shane and Stephanie. He ends by thanking the fans, for without them, the WWE would cease to exist. And he says that the time has come for him to step aside and let someone else lead the WWE into what he calls, "A New Era".
Pyro explodes as Raw comes to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. JR and King welcome us to a new beginning, a new era. Neither JR or King knows what to expect tonight and they are wondering who is the new owner of the WWE. At this moment, HHH's music hits and the arena begins to fill up with boos. Hunter walks out dressed in a suit and heads directly to the ring. He grabs a mic and is ready to talk.
HHH says that over the last five to ten years, nobody has accomplished more than he has. He is an eight time World Heavyweight Champion, and he is the best in the business. It is because of this that what he is about to say is very hard to do. But, he must. HHH announces that he has retired from the ring. The fans applaud. HHH figured they would like that. But before the fans begin singing bye-bye to Trips, he has an announcement. He is retiring because as of one week ago today, he became the new owner of the WWE. The fans are shocked and the camera goes to commercial.
Commercial Break.
We come back with Hunter in the ring joined by Paul Heyman and Teddy Long. JR and King can't believe that HHH is the new owner. HHH intoduces Paul and says that he chose Paul because of his balls to go head to head with Vince. He knows Eric Bischoff did too, but he feels that Paul is better suited as a GM. Paul agrees. Trips says he chose Teddy because he feels Teddy is a wild card. Teddy asks what that means. Trips says it means that Smackdown needed retooling. It needed a fresh new face. Teddy knows this business and Trips felt it was time to give Teddy a chance to show he can run a show. Teddy smiles and agrees. HHH then tells both Teddy and Paul that as of tonight, things are going to change. Paul and Teddy will each draw for a sheriff. Whomever they draw is their sheriff. The sheriff is not a GM, but he/she is their to make sure things are done fairly and properly. Second, Paul and Teddy will draft their top five tonight live on Raw. Anyone is fair game. And if they are not part of the WWE, then HHH will sign them. He guarantees it. Then Hunter announces that tonight, their will be two title matches: the WWE title will be Eddie Guerrero vs. Kane and the World Heavyweight title will be Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle. HHH then says that the WWE title and WWE tag team titles are now on Raw. The World Heavyweight title and World tag team titles will be on Smackdown. The US title and IC title stay on the shows they are currently on. The Cruiserweight title stays on Smackdown. Trips tells Teddy that he better make sure he has a good cruiserweight roster, because the fans like the cruiserweights. He then tells Paul that he is getting rid of the Women's title, and is giving Paul a title he feels he knows a lot about. Raw will now be the home of the Hardcore division. Paul likes that idea.
Teddy then tells Hunter he has an idea. He would like to put Booker T and the World title match tonight. He feels that since he is in charge of the belt that he should get to choose the opponent for Chris Benoit. Hunter says okay, but tells Teddy that if he does want this, then he will allow Paul the first pick in the draft and the first draw in the sheriff bin. Teddy thinks about it and agrees. Paul likes this and agrees as well and all is settled.
We go to the back and see Randy Orton, Batista and Ric Flair talking. Orton and Batista ask Flair if he knew about Hunter retiring and becoming the new owner. Flair says he didn't and says that he is shocked that Hunter did not talk to him about it. Orton and Batista are pissed as well, and Orton says he will talk to Hunter tonight about it. Evolution is not breaking up he yells as he and Batista walk away from Flair.
Commercial Break.
We come back with Hunter, Paul and Teddy in the ring as it is time for the Sheriff drawing. But before we begin, Evolution's music hits and out walks Orton and Batista. Hunter tells them that now is not the time to talk about his decision. Orton and Batista feel that it is. Orton wants to know what is going to happen to his IC title. Hunter says that all titles are vacant, but he will get the opportunity to win it back. Orton does not like this, and he tells Hunter that he has betrayed Evolution. Trips says they can talk later, and after a brief staredown, Orton and Batista leave. Paul then prepares to draw first. Hunter spins the bin and Paul draws a name. He hands the paper to HHH without opening it and Hunter looks at the name. He smiles and tells Paul he is going to love this. The new sheriff of Raw is........Eric Bishoff! Paul looks happy and says that he will do his best to get along with Eric. Teddy then draw a name, and hands it to Hunter without reading it. Hunter smiles and tells Teddy that things will certainly be fun around Smackdown, because the new sheriff of Smackdown is......Mick Foley! Teddy looks unhappy with this and demands another pick. Hunter says he can't because he told them that they would be stuck with whomever they picked. We go to commercial with a very unhappy Teddy Long.
Commercial Break.

Chris Benoit(c) vs. Booker TA great match to start the HHH era of Raw. Benoit took the early lead being the aggressor, and had Booker T realing. The crowd was behind the Crippler all the way. But, a mistake midway through the match gave Booker T the the advantage, and he capitalized on it. He started working on Benoits left knee, attacking with no regard to the champ. He slammed it against the ring post, worked on it with a a rare figure four, and other moves. It looked as though Benoit was done when Booker T hit the Book End. But at the last moment, Benoit got his shoulder up and the match continued. Booker hit the scissor kick, but still could not get the three count. Booker set up for another scissor kick, but Benoit moved and hit the three german suplexes. He then went up top for the headbutt, but Booker moved. Flair wants to know why Hunter did not tell Evolution about him being the new owner, and he especially wants to know why he didn't tell Flair himself. Flair thought that he and Hunter were buds. Hunter tells Flair they are and let's him know that he was asked by Mr. McMahon to not tell anyone. It was a condition HHH had to abide by in order to be named the owner. Flair accepts this and asks Hunter if they can talk about . Hunter says not now, but he will speak with Flair later. HHH then asks Flair for a favor. He asks Flair to speak to Randy because Randy seemed a little ticked off. He knows Randy will listen to Flair. Flair says he will speak to Randy, and he and Hunter hug.
