Alrighty! Its time for another installment of Cody;s Corner Wrestler Special! Just so you guys know my other columns were mashed into one thread so if you missed any you can check em' there. So there are two wrestlers that I wanna take a look at today, CM Punk and Chris HEro. These guys are two great wrestlers and had one of my favourite feuds that produced some phenomenal matches!
CM Punk:
Chicago native CM Punk got his start in 1999 when he was trained at the Steel Domain with Ace Steel and Kevin Quinn. These two did an excellent job training Punk and he became one of their first graduates. They tought him about the science behind pro wrestling and turned him from a guy who couldn't wrestle, into a wrestling machine!
CM PUnk is Straight Edge, and according to him that means that he is better than you! Most wrestlers don't live their gimmik outside the ring, but Punk does and that is basically because those are his beliefs. he doesn't drink, do drugs, or have promisuous sex. Many believe that with his beliefs and character that he will definately have a prosperous career!
In 2000 CM Punk entered IWA Mid-South which was ran by Ian Rotten. This is the company in which CM Punk was able to make a huge name for himself. CM Punk likes to think that IWA and himself helped each other. CM Punk was the guy that brought actual wrestling into the hardcore promotion. While in IWA MS CM Punk had 4 Heavyweight Title reigns and an amazing feud with one Chris Hero!
This feud produced phenomenal matches that made the crowd crazy. They never went short either. They had Iron Man Matches, 2/3 falls matches, one of them lasting 93 minutes! They also had a TLC match which lasted 55 minutes! This caused him to be called the Iron man by his fans, and those who saw his matches!
During his time in IWA MS Punk was also competing in other companies. He wrestled for JCW, JAPW, CZW, and IWC. As usual Punk was a fast rising star in these promotions and always gave the fans their moneys worth. I don't think that CM Punk has bad match in his vocabulary.
In late 2002 CM Punk made his debut in Ring Of Honor! In March of 2003 he began his feud with Raven after he defeated him in a hardcore match withhis Devil Lock (Texas Cloverleaf). This sparked Punk to cut all kinds of promos about Raven's past and showed everyone he can work the mic. He continud his feud all through the summer and kept having bloody matches with Raven. They had Dog Collar Matches, and even Cage Matches! In the Dog Collar Match Raven lost to Punk gbut got revenge by tying him to the ropes and pouring beer down his throat! Finally their feud was put to an end in the late fall in a Clock Work Orange House Of Fun Cage Match.
During 2003 CM Punk was picked up by TNA and wrestled as a member of Raven's flock and teamed frequently with Julio Dinero. But CM Punk no longer works with TNA since they wanted him to be pulled from the ROH roster! GOOD DECISION!
CM punk still works with ROH and is in a blood feud with the prophecy. At the Second Year Anniversary Show CM Punk ade it to the finals in the Pure Wrestling Tournament for the Pure Wrestling title, he lossed to AJ Styles.

Now onto another great wrestler!
Chris Hero:
Chris Hero got his start in 1998 for the promotion UCW. He had the size and the skill to make it big. He was trained by Ian Rotten, Dory Funk Jr., and Les Thatcher. There was no denying that Hero was ready! Only one problem...his gimmik! His original gimmik was Wife Beater, the same as CZW'ss very own, except for the space! But this was the cause of some controversy and he dropped the name to ebcome Chris Hero!
Chris Hero got a star in IWA MS around the same time as his long time rival CM Punk. In IWA he showed that for a man of his size he could move awfully quick and had a great knowledge of the sport by winning the Sweet Sixteen Science tournament in 2000!
Chris Hero, like CM Punk, helped to bring actual wrestling into IWA MS. He put on great matches with everyone he wrestled, especially Punk! But in the big matches Hero was usually the victor, and is also a 4 time IWA MS Heavyweight Champion!
Chris Hero gains experience all the time as he wrestles for so many promotions, and has competed everywhere! Hero is probably one of the hardest working wrestler in the busness as far as his schedule goes! Like his rival, Chris Hero is also an Iron Man. He can go for such a long time, and gets better the longer the match goes!
Hero is currently becomming a regular for CZW and soon will be having the chance to face Jimmy Rave for the Iron Man Championship! If their is one title that Hero could win, its this!
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 240lbs
Style: Technical, Traditional, Japanese
Companies Worked For: HWA, CZW, XPW, IWA MS, IWC, MLW, NWA, NWA TNA, USPWA, plus loads more!
Signature Moves: Rubix Cube (Same as a Joker Driver, Electric Chair Driver), Moonsault, Hangmans Clutch (STF with Cravat)
Finisher: Hero's Welcome (Roll Of The DIce/Test Drive/Last Rites)
