The Great One

Welcome to another Final Word. This week we will be talking about several things, hope you enjoy reading my latest column.
Raw and Smackdown have been doing great over the past few weeks since the draft, Smackdown was in a dire state before the draft, and the shows were so poor that I stopped watching it. But now that the draft has given them some top stars it has been improving over the past few weeks, I have now been watching it a bit more now since the draft. I have to say that I am enjoying Raw and Smackdown now, where as before I would just watch Raw, and just read the results of Smackdown, but now that the draft has improved it, I now watch Raw and Smackdown. I no longer say Raw is the superior show over Smackdown, as now I think they are both on the same level. But one thing that has been stated by fans is that Smackdown needs to be live, if it is live it can compete on the same level of Raw, and get young stars on Smackdown noticed, Cena, Eddie, Haas, and many more. Anyway it being live would really help Smackdown take that step further, which I would like. Raw is another show that has been doing great since the draft too, before the draft we got sick of seeing the same person with the belt, holding down talent, and led to the de-masking of Kane. HHH, don’t get me wrong he has done a lot to the business, and is the top heel on Raw. But the problem is that before the draft he would not put over younger generation stars, like RVD for instance. But now that he has lost the title to Benoit who in mind really deserved the title, and glad to see him win it at the biggest stage of them all, Wrestlemania. But anyway, he has put over Benjamin twice in two weeks, which is great for him because this guy has talent, and can make it big for the years ahead. But this week he was dropped to Heat, which I hope is a one off. He beats a top heel twice in 2 weeks, then beats Flair on a PPV, and then he gets dropped to Heat, which sucks. He could have at least been at Raw even if they don’t know what to do with him. But hopefully he gets used next week and is not on Heat again because that is not the place for him.
Stone Cold Steve Austin getting released from the WWE. What do I make of this? I don’t really care if he stayed or went, as I think he was getting boring week in, week out. WWE can do better without him doing the same things, interrupt heels, try and make fun out of them, and then when he is finished doing that it is the same old drinking beer and taunting the crowd. Now that he has gone, hopefully they give the time to someone who deserves it, Matt Hardy could use this time, but more than likely it may not happen. You never know! Looks like he is going to Japan, and we might be seeing a Goldberg/Austin feud, it should be good, and when Goldberg was in WCW we were all hoping that he would sign with the WWE so that we could see this feud. Goldberg then signed with the WWE we had a big chance to hope that we would see it, there were hints that could have been done at Wrestlemania, I would have wanted to see it instead of Goldberg Vs Brock Lesnar, which was an awful match up to say the least. But anyway we didn’t see it, but it wasn’t a big concern due to the fact that Goldberg can’t be trusted in the ring, and we wouldn’t trust him with the problems that Austin has, his neck. Now if Goldberg messed up, he could potentially cripple the rattlesnake. Yeah they are doing it over in Japan, but hopefully he doesn’t mess up, and wreck Austin’s livelihood, and knowing the WWE if they did it, they might have messed it up due to the fact that they screw a few potentially good storylines. Anyway shame that I can't see it, due to me not able to get this on Tv. It could have been good to watch, but it looks like I have to read the results or stories on that feud, or even better download it!
Randy Orton, he beat the biggest hardcore legend at his own game. Impressive to say the least, this strengthens his push. I have to say ever since he came into the WWE he has been on top of his game, I respect the guy because he has been on role, and then when he took the thumbtacks bare backed my respect shot up; every time the thumbtacks come out it is Foley always ends up on them so when they came out we all thought he would be getting them, but then came the shocker Orton ended taking them bare backed, which is brave of him and I have to say, he just placed himself as an hardcore legend in the making. I am enjoying where this leading for him, maybes an Edge/Orton feud would be entertaining, but the only downside is that if Orton wants to continue his role he is going to have to defeat Edge, which would affect Edges push towards the title. But there is a way out of that I think, Edge and Orton in a match where HHH would run down and do a number on Edge, DQ’ed Orton doesn’t really affect his push and doesn’t hurt Edges either and then that starts up a program between Edge and HHH. Which will be for the title more than likely with Edge taking the gold of HHH, but plans can change so we will have to see where this goes and what happens at the end of it.
Jeff Hardy has been reported to be signing back with the WWE. There are several things that I like, and don’t like. The things I like is that he could be tagged back up with Matt. Now how would I do that because Matt is starting a storyline with Lita at the moment, well Matt could be saving Lita, but the numbers are against him so he gets a good beating along with Lita, but then out of no where Jeff runs in and makes the save, saving Lita and Matt, which then leads to them having a group hug. We then see team extreme back (I am not typing it like “Xtreme”) this might help the tag division out a little bit, the division is in a dire state at the moment. But anyway Team Extreme is back together, you know why I think that is a good idea? Because Jeff is nothing when he isn’t with his brother Matt, Matt made Jeff where he is now due to him being the brains, Jeff is only good for the stunts that he does, if he didn’t do them stunts in the past, would he be famous? No he wouldn’t, the stunts got him noticed in the famous TLC matches, and so if it wasn’t for them, he wouldn’t be where he is now. But anyway, the downside is that he has very little talent and is only good for stunts, which he won’t be doing due to Vince wanting to take the risks out so that he doesn’t end up with many injured stars due to the stunts that they performed. It might be good to see him back, it might not be, and it just depends on what they plan for him when he does return to WWE.
Watched Smackdown last week, I didn’t read the spoilers for Mark Jindrak match against Spike Dudley. I have to say it should be good to see how he does, because I seen many things that is going to make this guy a top star in the future. Hopefully they don’t screw this up because he can be a top guy on Smackdown. But rest assured this won’t be screwed up due to Teddy being there, but nothing is for sure. I thought when they split him from Garrison Cade I thought what are they doing, splitting another tag team up that could help the ever so falling tag division, but now that Garrison Cade might have something going for him so it might not affect either one due to them both having good things going for them.
I have to report a few things that I want to point out that I saw on Raw, firstly. The Kane segment that he gave us was pretty good to be honest. Now Matt Hardy might have something for him that should be pretty interesting because he has talent, but is wasting away on Raw. But hopefully they have something going for him, hope they don’t have him feud with Kane because Kane is the likely person to win the feud, also sending Matt back to jobbing again. If they going to place him in a good feud I just hope that he wins the feud because he needs a good enough push that could have him contend for the IC title, and a Orton/Hardy feud would be good. It should be good to see what they have in store for him! Another thing that is sticking out is that I think Val Venis gimmick “Hello Ladies”, I think that is out of date, they need to give him a good gimmick that could lead for a push. I was liking the Chief Morley gimmick to be honest, but it is a shame that they had to end that because it had something going for him, and not only him, Lance Storm also, he isn’t doing much either. There is many things that they could do with him and Venis, they could give Val a new gimmick and team him with Lance, Raw needs the tag teams and they could be a good edition to it. But anyway it should be good to see what happens.
Big Show has now had his surgery and is going to be out for a few months. If he is supposed to be feuding with Taker then I might have an idea on how to bring him back. At a PPV, it would be bigger to bring him back at a PPV than normal show, so Undertaker could be feuding for the title, it would be a bigger impact if Taker is feuding with the champ IMO. So Undertaker is in the main event title match, Undertaker hits the tombstone and seems to have the title in his grasp outcomes Big Show, does a number of Undertaker, leaves Taker out cold and then the champ gets the victory. I don’t know I thought of having Big Show giving him the chokeslam through the ring, but I don’t think Taker would want to do that just in case it might aggravate his niggling injuries, and it might be a bit over done. So this Undertaker isn’t seen for several weeks selling the injuries, Big Show then showboats that not only that he took out Angle, he took out the biggest star on Smackdown, Undertaker. Now this would lead to Big Show being portrayed on how he should be, the dominant heel on Smackdown. This would obviously lead to a good feud that Taker will win.
Well that is it for this weeks, Final Word. Hope you enjoyed reading it, and see you in the next edition of the Final Word. Take care and see you next week.
Thanks,
The Road Warrior
