Well I have decided that it would be a good idea if we had a chat room for WP and IOW users to chat in. I am going to look at getting a chat room created for us. What do you guys think about this. Would anybody be interested?.Let me know.

IRC you will need to probably Download it to acess the chat room , Also you'l probs need a link to it , Or you can type the room name in like Wrestle Power etc.. The Address is Mirc.com, If your thinking about doing this i really think You should ask Trevor or one of the other Admin staff as it really should be made by them

Im not trying to take over WP or take memebers away im just wanting to make a place for members to hang out and chat without everybody having to get different messenger names..but ill ask to make sure..but they can read this so if any admin reads this and has a problem with it let me know..

Also the fact IRC May be the best for us , But it can easily get members of other chat rooms comeing in and being ****'s , Whilst AIM/MSN May be the best for now, Cant every one download AIM? That way we can continue having our FUN chat sessions....Thats when me and PK are there though :) He He He

well thats why the only people who will know about it will be WP and IOW users.. We can always make a rule that you can only log in under your IOW or WP screen name..I just figure it will be easier than this aim stuff becaue thats just another messenger to have to download. Why don't you guys use IRC? It's easy. Al you need to do is download it from the official site, start up a room and add a bot so it remains open for the whole time. Also the problem of unwanted guests is easily solved by banning, kicking or unvoiceing them.

So if some-body logged in as Duff for example, people might think it was me? That's BS, personally i don't think it will ever take off. Most of us chat on AIM. You say its just another messenger service to downlad, well we would all have to download IRC, most people n here have AIM, so why can those that dontjust download it.


BTW, do clear this with Trevor or someone because it is his site and it would be unfair to do something in WP's name without their consent.

Actually, we have talked about doing something like this for pay per views....set up an AIM chat for WP members and put the chat room name on the board so people can chat about the pay per view while it's on.

Cool deal dude, but the only problem is that you might want to do it when you got more members because some members that are already here might not be on the computer when there watching the PPV so that it might leave only a few people on. But you never know, there might be a lot on.

Well i dont know how this whole IRC thing works. If it is something every memebr has to download in order to chat thats not what i wanted.What I wanted was something that all you had to do was go to the site and log in as your user. And as far as people using your name thats easy to avoid too becaue their are a few chat rooms that will allow you to register your user name so nobody else can use that name....I will have to check on it. Of course as long as all of this is ok with you Trevor. I am in no way trying to go around WP or take people away. Im just saying that instead of everybody having to download AIM we could just have it as another site. I will check on it if Trevor does not mind us doing this. And as far as it taking off, Duff this was just a brainstorm I had yesterday and I thought it would be a good idea. The chat room doesnt even have to have the WP name on it. Im just saying a generic chat room that members of IOW and WP can chat in. If people are willing to give it a try then we will know for sure if it will work. Trevor if you dont want to try it thats fine this was just an idea. You are the boss here so let me know.

It shows you care about these forums and want them to be huge just as much as i do. Maybe i misinterpreted what you meant. If it is a chat that isnt based around an IM service then it might be different. I still feel people might be reluctant to join as certain people might not get on with others, whereas in our AIM chats we have the ability to boot people who are acting like asses. We can "moderate" it in a way. With the kind of chat you are proposing, i imagine this would be very hard to do unless a fw people were appointed to monitor the chats. Again, these are only minor objections, but it's better to voice them now than after the chat is launched.

And the chat I am wanting to pick will not have anything to do with a messenger service. there are a few I know of . There are some on MSN but its not a messsenger. Its just on the msn site. For example it would be www.wpchat.msn.com. I just made that up but it would be a direct link so we wouldnt have to search and hunt for it. With these kind of chats you wont have to download anything to use is it. It will be just like using a message board like this one. And yes If I opened a chat room there would be a few moderaters just to insure things go the way they should.....

This will be just one room for everybody to chat in. It wont have like different topics like this one does. It will just be one room and if it gets too many people in one room then we can open up a second room. Duff I am with you 100% as far as wanting this site to succeed so I hope this will work. Let me explore this a little more and see what kind of stuff I can find. i dont want a chat where you have to download components to use it. thats just the same as downloading a messenger service. If it's just a message board service like this one then why not just use this one? I dunno, personally I would rather have it on here in a specific thread that can be created. If not that, then something on AIM would probably be best. It seems like that is the IM service that most people on here have anyway.

no no its not a message forum. I just created one and it is on geocities. you can check it out if you want. All you have to do is click on this website and then just log in. You dont have to sign up for anything it is totally free...here is the link to the site check it out and let me know if you like it or think it will work.I can change all the names and stuff but i just created this as a sample..Right now it has the words Wrestlepower chat and just the chat box in the middle. It can be edited.

Just thought I would let anybody know is interested that I have opened up a chat room on IRC...You do have to download the software but it only takes a few minutes. Its just like downloading any other messenger service.

If you have used MIRC before then skip down to the bottom to get the room naem. If you have not ever used it then I will walk you through it. Its not that hard....



First you go to MIRC.com. Download the program for your area. After you have done that open the program. A box will pop up that has a bunch of useless junk. Click continue.

After you click continue that box will go away. Another box will pop up. in the left of the box it will say Connect, Server, options,local info etc...Click on server.All you will need to fill out is your name Email and nickname.

Next click on Servers to the right. Next go over where it says IRC Network and there will be a scroll down bar. Click on 4-irc. Once you do this you shouldnt have to do it again.Then click connect to server.(the server must be 4-irc in order for this to work)

A bunch of stuff will start going up the screen. Next a box will pop up that says mIRC favorites.In the box at the top type in #wrestlepower and boom your in. Start chatting.

it seems like a lot but once you do it several times its not that bad. For the time being Myself, Primetime are Admins. I am going to appoint more admins as soon as people start visiting. If you want to be an Admin let me know. I will choose probably about 5 or so Admins.

This Chat will work if people join. It does not cost anything.It seems like a lot just to chat but once you do it once or twice it wont be that bad.

yes it is.. But it has come to my attention that the first person to log in automatically becomes an Admin. So I will stay loggd in 24/7 to make sure only certain ppl are admins. So if it says I am online i may not be at the computer so if I dont say anything back thats why..thanks

OK guys I have finally found a chat room that will work. I can assign Admins and all that..

I promise we will keep this one.

All you have to do is click on this link

Then it will bring up a box that says you will need to join this group in order to chat. Then you click on Apply to join. All you do is type in your nickname and email and your in. Then click on Chat and you will be able to chat.

With this room i can give you Admin access and you will only be an admin if i make you admin. With IRC the first person to log in is the Admin and thats not what I wanted. This way you will always be admin..

With IRC when you log out you are no longer Admin. So please join and I promis this time it will stay this way.

right now i am the only admin because nobody else has joined.

4.You must sign up using your WP or IOW user name so we know who you are. If you dont I will delete you from the list.
