Your's Truely is back with another exciting column! Now, you may be asking "hey Josh, what's up with the title?" Well, the answer is simple. I have yet to do a Shot in the Dark for SmackDown! and I have yet to do a Complete Shot for this week so, rather that doing them at seperate times, I'm going to jam in all into one action-packed column!
First up
A Shot in the Dark - SmackDown!
Opening Segment - If not for Bradshaw, it would have been a quality segment. I just realized this, does anyone else think that Bradshaw is starting to act like Angle when he first made his debut? Also, "I'm too tired to have a match tonight". Then why in the blue hell would you show up?!?!
Big Show - As much I got to give this guy props for working through his injuries to help out with SmackDown!, I have to question why the Show/Guerrero match was made and why Eddie had such a horrified look on his face. I mean, Big Show has done virutally nothing over the last couple of months. The most he's done is defended the US Title at WM, which was only about his third defence since winnning it.
Champ vs Champ - Why?!? This match was pointless! However, it was a good match with lots of good spots. I REALLY hate Chavo's new music!!!
"Cafe de Rene" - So, the WWE starts tension between Cena and Dupree and it looks like the might have fought for the title, which definately would've been cool, only to scrap that to have a Highlight Reel type show on SmackDown!?? Boo!!! Rene is too good of a talent to be wasted like this!!!
Haas vs Rico - Good lord this match was funny!! Rico plays up the gay angle SO much. It makes for some good TV. However, Haas really should've been used better! I hope he gets his chance.
"The Time Of Reckoning Is Upon Us" - I'm definately looking forward to seeing Mordecai. Seven was a monster in OVW, let's hope the WWE doesn't screw up that reputation.
Eddie vs Big Show - Very good match for both men. I loved the wrench bit, that was good. The only thing I didn't get about the match is why Show would injure Eddie's arm. I mean, why not a leg or something? We all suspected Show was going to lose so he could nurse those injuries, so there was no element of suprize. At least Guerrero's "na na" 's were to the beat, unlike JR's from a while ago (sorry, I HAD to bring it up as it was so ridiculously off-beat!).
Jindrak vs Spike - Why?! Why are they playing Jindrak up like Lex Luger?? Chucky P. did that in WCW and it didn't work, wasn't the WWE watching? The only reason I could think of is that Luger is making a WWE return and he's going to feud with Jindrak. God I hope that doesn't happen!!!
Booker T vs Rob Van Dam - Very nice match. They seemed to mesh pretty well. The DQ ending was a surprize. I think that Taker should've come out, to start up the Book/Taker feud.
The closing segment - I'm still trying to figure out how the hell they worked Angle getting chokeslammed off that platform. I mean, clearly there was no padding anywhere, and there was blood gushing from the back of his head so what the hell happened?!? I'm looking forward to see how Angle retaliates.

Since it's a bit hard to discuss someone's leaving, I thought I'd bring the Shot of the Week out of retirement for this one column. As stated before, the SotW will be on Stone Cold.
Stone Cold Steve Austin

WEIGHT: 252 pounds
FROM: Victoria, TX
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: WCW US Champion (2), WCW Tage Team (1), WCW TV Champion (2), World Wrestling Federation Champion (6), Intercontinental (2), WWF Tag Team (4), 1996 King of the Ring, 1997,1998 & 2001 Royal Rumble winner

Stone Cold Steve Austin is arguably the greatest Superstar in the history of WWE. A six-time WWE Champion, the Texas Rattlesnake has highlighted three WrestleMania events, won the Royal Rumble match three times, and has had memorable matches against the greatest superstars in the game. Austin's era of greatness began at the 1996 King of the Ring. After winning the tournament, Austin coined the phrase, "Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!" He would go on to win his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania XIV in 1998, with some help from boxer Mike Tyson, and would then segue into the infamous "Austin vs. McMahon" feud which propelled sports-entertainment into the stratosphere. After returning from a career-threatening neck injury in 2000, the Rattlesnake quickly climbed back to the top of the World Wrestling, culminating in his WWE Championship win over The Rock at WrestleMania X-Seven in front of 67,925 of his fellow Texans at the Reliant Astrodome! He's a trash-talking, beer-swilling, finger-gesturing, ass-kicking son of a bitch, and millions of WWE fans wouldn't have it any other way!
That's it for now. I'll be back later in the week with a Complete Shot.
