I know that there is already a thread but it was made a few days ago so here is a fresh one.
As many of you well may know the Pope has finally passed away. This day was coming for a while so no real shock. I guess we can pay we're respects or give your thoughts on his passing.
RIP

Well, I'm not religious, I actually don't really even believe in God. But man, like this still sucks to hear. I hate hearing of anyone dying and my heart goes out to his family.

Christ has opened the door to the Holy Father.
Man, I'm not Catholic (I do have a close friend who is), but John Paul's death struck me unordinarily. I mean it was almost (not entirely, but almost) like the POTUS died (Bush is a bastard, but he's still my president and I would feel sorrow for my country. Besides, then that'd mean Cheney would be president).
RIP John Paul II
1920 - 2005
Roman Catholics have my condolences.

Yes the world has lost a great spiritual leader who I think has touched the hearts of millions of people despite what religion(or non religion) they might have been.

Well as a strong Catholic the Pope obviously had a high affect in my life. My parents recently came back from Rome after seeing the Pope and after seeing all the religious sites so they have been tremendously affected and that has put a sort of down feel in the house. I have done my prayers for the Pope and his family and i was upset about it but at the same time happy as i know that the Pope is not suffering anymore and is probably the happiest he has ever felt being in Heaven with the Lord.
RIP Pope John Paul II in God's hands you rest.

On one hand, the world lost a great man. A man who stuck to his guns, no matter what the popular decision was. He stood strongly against divorce, abortion, homosexuality and was a man who wanted the world to know peace. I'm not Catholic, so his loss doesn't effect me in the same way it would a devote catholic. However, I do mourn the loss of a man that really did stand for what he believed was right.
On the other hand, Heaven has opened its' doors to man who has been true to his faith, and has done works that I feel God is proud of. Most of us falter in some areas, but I can't remember a time where I questioned the Pope's loyalty to God. In a way, I am happy to see him pass on, mostly because he is no longer in pain or is suffering in any way. We will mourn his loss, but the fact remains, he is in a far better place.
