Jeff Jarrett is apparently in New York City right now and according to one source is meeting with Viacom executives. Apparently, Jarett is indeed meeting with Viacom about getting TNA a clearance on SpikeTV, possibly on Monday night to replace the WWE programming when it leaves SpikeTV in September.
Jeff Jarrett being in New York is something we have already talked about expecting, and some people involved in his negotiation with Viacom wants WWE to know they are meeting with Jarrett since their ending of negotiations with WWE left hard feelings between the two.
It should be interesting to see what happens, because if TNA is about to secure a television slot on SpikeTV, especially on Monday nights, it could definitely lead to another Monday night war.
On a related note, there is still no official new cable deal for WWE to announce at this time.

This could be huge for TNA. I would be extremely happy if they could get a time slot that competes with the WWE. It would really be great for the industry!

Yes, and WWE would fear some competition and maybe bring back a few elements of the old Monday Night Wars. That era was THE best ever IMO. But maybe because i never watched wrestling untill the Attitude Era began...

If TNA got a Monday night slot then they'd have to straighten up their acts big time. Other than the X Division, everything is average at best and even the X Division is beginning to get stale (using the Ultimate X match so much). If they were able to land a big time booker like Heyman then I think the WWE would actually start to straighten its act and book more consistiently but if not, I see them being a company the WWE could easily topple. I hope I'm wrong because it would be good to see two great wrestling shows every Monday night. BTW, people say that HHH is a title hog...look at Jarrett.
Well weather TNA ends up been televised in Australia or not I still hope TNA do get a done deal with Spike TV, this just might make the WWE more enjoyable to watch.
Just a quick question about Jarrett, has he lost the belt since that situation he had with Randy Savage?

I would love to see TNA get this slot as well. It probably wouldn't mean huge ratings to begin with, but given time, I think TNA could start to pull fans from the WWE. Remember this. TNA still has a "cult" like following, but given the national exposure on Spike could make them competitive. I hope Spike takes a chance on TNA. This deal could help wrestling as a whole.

Just have Spike look at the X Division. That ALONE should have TNA get a spot.

-UPDATE-
Jeff Jarrett met with a Spike TV executive yesterday about getting TNA on the network. That much we know. What isn't known for sure is how the meeting went.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that it doesn't appear as if a Monday night timeslot was discussed. TNA will have a hard time selling itself because for a network like Spike TV, they could air a "McGyver" repeat at no cost to them, draw as good (if not better) rating than TNA would draw, and attract more advertisers since many advertisers would never advertise on pro-wrestling.
On the flip side, PWTorch is reporting that the talks went well and Jeff Jarrett was very upbeat afterwards. Spike TV liked TNA's three year track record and the fact that TNA would be much cheaper than WWE programming. Keller also added that TNA is talking with another major network for a weekday timeslot. Lastly from Keller, TNA has a verbal deal with a "major name" who has agreed to work with TNA should they land a national primetime timeslot. According to Keller, this name is big enough to attract many WWE viewers.
Sounds like they aint getting it to me. :bradpitt: (the f is up with the Brad Pitt Smiley?)

I hope for Pro Wrestling's sake that Spike picks up TNA and puts them on at 11:00 pm for 1 or 2 hours on Mondays after Raw ends. If they threw them into a 2 hour time slot opposed to Raw they would get absolutely decimated in the ratings. TNA does a .4 or somthing now, they won't do much better opposing Raw. They'd need to advertise pretty heavily for the show during Raw, obviously which I imagine they'd be able to do, ECW and WCW used to. If the show does well then move it to 8-10, so they have a head start on Raw and if that does well then it could be moved head to head.
But come on TNA would need too take one big ****ing dramatic change too actually considering running against WWE. Considering half of the games is how the promotion looks, so presentation would need too be a hell of a lot better wouldn’t it? They easily need too change arenas, which could hold a capacity of 3,000+ and also there set? What the **** is the deal with it? They all look cheap and tacky, it’d never work up against the Millions that McMahon has spent on his sets would it? The only thing that TNA have got that’s really good going for them is there 6 sided ring, and even then I cant take it seriously for the fact that it’s pretty horrific watching the likes of Jarrett, Nash and Gunn working in that environment. If anything that 6 sides should have been saved for the X Division and that’s it, and even then it should have been used as a special attraction, But oh that other defunct Indy MLW was using it and it got over on there broadcasting so TNA Needed too use it… Also TNA is just a ****ing Pun for Tits n Ass, it’s not a very good name for a wrestling promotion, they’d be far superior going against the WWE with NWA TNA considering it’s got 3 world recognised letters in there.
Also match quality would have too improve a hell of a lot, if they were on a national scale. I mean for a start there’s only so many times people can see Nash being pushed isn’t there? He wasn’t ever a Draw in the WWF or WCW so why should his value suddenly increase now? If anything TNA need too make the names they’ve got now future stars, I’m talking AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, AMW etc. They’ve got the wrestling ability too actually turn it up a notch in the NWA and be major players and get the promotion noticed, But the only way that would happen was if Jarrett stood on the side lines, and let us see what these guys could do as credible main eventers. Also I’d base the promotion on “young” wrestlers, with there cool styles, **** I may not like the styles they use, but it could be enough of an alternate product for people too make the transition from WWE over too NWA.

Hopefully they get a new TV deal but not on Monday night when Raw is on because they can compete with the WWE right now
