I'm officially certifiable! YAY!!

So yesterday at the college I had a certification exam for Powerpoint. The test was worth 1000 points and you had to have a 650 to earn your certificate.

I scored an 879! BAYYYUUUM! So now I have to wait a couple of weeks and I'll get the certification in the mail. I have no clue what I can do with it (aside from putting it on a resume and hanging it on the wall). It basically says I'm a Microsoft Office Specialist in Powerpoint. It was $60.00 to buy the voucher for the test and I had to buy it when I took the Powerpoint class last semester, unfortunately, the test center was messed up and not fixed until like 2 weeks ago.

IMO It sounds like a waste of time if you dont know what to do with it but I guess thats just how I felt when I completed a course for no real particular reason. But well done on your score and your pass Gravedigger.

So what can you do with Powerpoint now, GD? I've only ever given a presentation with it once, very basic, I'm afraid, but if I ever needed a whizz-bang show, you could set it up for me, right?

yeah I could do that Ken. Basically what it means is Microsoft recognizes me as someone with a lot of knowledge in Powerpoint. It's something for my resume and for hanging up on the wall when customers come to the office.

It's not like it's going to get me some big job, but as it turns out...I found out today that I was the only one out of 7 people who took the test to pass it. And out of nearly 15 people who took Office certification tests, there's only one other person who passed total.

Oh and I talked with one of my fellow co-workers and he explained the first paragraph to me...that's how I know now what I didn't know earlier.
