Jericho better as a face? and Foley

Am I the only one who feels that Jericho is much better as Y2J? When he was a heel he was great, but watching him the past couple of weeks as a face...well it just seems better to me. He's a naturally funny guy and I think that that just works better as a face. I always thought that he had mic skills second only to The Rock.

Speaking of mic skills, I think that some of the younger wrestlers could learn a thing or two by studying Mick Foley. Some of the promos he has cut were engaging and extremely entertaining. I'm saddened to think that Foley is only going to be around for a little while. With the Rock doing movies, their's really no one who can work the mic besides Y2J. HHH bores the hell out of me. He used to be ok, until he got with Evolution. Now it's the same thing, over..and over...and over....

I agree Y2J is back and i couldn't be happier hopefully the WWE will see his sucess with the fans and award him with the Title he deserve. Also Foley is always an entertaining guy whether a funny promo or a serious promo or a scary promo he keeps you entertained and wondering what his next move will be. With Foley leaving you soon your right there is only Y2J UNLESS HBK turns Heel Shawn Michaels as a heel had some amazing promos in the past so if he were to those ways then he could be another great promo cutter

I really enjoy Y2j as a face because he is funnier. I really don't like mick foley because I'm not really into the hardcore stuff. but I will admit his promo's are quite interesting. I just can't wait to see him bleed like hell at Backlash.

I have always seen past the heel/face persona for some reason.. I end up liking my wwe stars on characteristics of talent and acting skills.. the funny thing is I have always liked Y2J even when heel and same with Kurt Angle, I liked him when he was heel.. just shows that talent is the main thing!!

Y2J has worked his arse off for WWE.. I can't wait till he gets a run with the belt - he deserves it. Unlike Benoit, Jericho is the whole package.. Benoit is a toothless has-been.

Chris Benoit consistantly puts on matches that are both incredible and can be used to get not only himself but his opponent over. While I do like Jericho I get pissed off when people don't give wrestlers like Benoit the respect that he deserves and has earned. Name 5 wrestlers better. I dare you.

OK I see what you're saying but I really think that you can survive without mic skills. The use of the mic is just a tool whose use is to get the worker over. Therefor, if the worker is already over he doesn't need mic skills. Case in point Hulk Hogan. I don't care what anyone says, this guy doesn't have great mic skills. Not bad but not great. This guy is one of the most over wrestlers of all time. Same thing with Andre the Giant, Kane, Undertaker, Bret Hart, Owen Hart. The llist goes on.

I can't believe you actually mentioned Brock Lesnar (imo) being better at mic skills than benoit. Brock's mic skills reallly sucked. And Benoit is a great wrestler I personally don't think he needs mic skills to be a star and I'm the person who loves a good promo. Benoit matches are really entertaining and make up for his lack of mic skills.

As for Foley promos.. they are great. The Cane-Dewey promo may be one of the best promos ever made. And they are still great

yeah i agree a wrestler can survive without good mic skills, as long as their character doesnt require too much work on the mic....as for jericho...he is great on mic skills, i really love when he is a face and is trash talking tho....the way he bashed trish is almost as funny as the way he used to bash stephanie

How long has it been since we heard UT on the mic? Benoit is a solid wrestler but he lacks flare or an attitude, something Jericho has.
i think Randy Orton is progressing nicley, especially his promo at Wrestlemania

While I respect everyone's opinion I really have to disagree with you here though. In order to have the total package then you should be able be able to wrestle. Undertaker really can't do that all that well. Trips isn't a great wrestler either and until just recently he would never put anyone over. All though I can't argue with Angle, Jericho and Guerrero.

i like taker and triple h, but as far as in ring skills, i will have to agree that they have deteriorated from what they used to be, however they are still good wrestlers

i give you that both UT and HHH are past their prime, but i believe that they have good in ring skills, Trips matches are always good, (unless he's facing Steiner, boy that matches sucked), and he has everything mic skills, ring skills, passion, charisma and can tell a story in the ring. the same can be said of UT he has good matches even with A-Train.

They have that thing, edge, attitude call it whatever you want but that is something that benoit lacks and is preventing him to be really great, you dont need long promos to be good in the mic intensity is the key, take UT as an example, his promos aren't long and he gets his point across. one of my favorite UT promos is the one that set his match at WM with Hunter, I believe that Benoit will get better if they keep him as champ long enough and give him feuds with Jericho, HBK and Edge.

This thread is not asking who has better mic skills, if you want you can make a thread about that.

Now in my opinion I like Jericho best as a face. I see him as a small version of the Rock in many aspects, the insults come from the same genre, the charisma when in the ring, the machismo style of talk. The only real difference in his heel persona is that his speech becomes less comical and thats probably why I like him better as a face.

I thought Jericho stunk as a heel because he couldn't just be a heel, he always had to go for a cheap pop here and there. He just isn't cut out to be a heel IMO. Just like Angle doesn't work as a face IMO, he is just way better as a heel. Plus, the way they had Jericho's character as a heel he was never going to progress, he was always going to be an upper-mid-card wuss. At least now he has a shot at moving up the ladder. I do agree that Jericho is easily one of the best on the mic though.

On the subject of Foley's promos, I think they are OK, but WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY too overacted. It's just too unbelievable.

i think if his gonna get the title that he should be face. when he was heel and the undisputed champion i dont think it worked out well. but i like Y2J either way, i just think he needs more time on the mic to show everyone just how funny he can be face or heel.
