HEARTLESS traffic warden Richard Doy caused fury by slapping a ticket on a funeral bus.
The double-decker was painted BLACK, parked outside a FUNERAL PARLOUR and the coffin was being LOADED at the time.
But it did not stop the over-eager meter man issuing a fine.
The bus had been hired to carry out the last wishes of former coach driver Bill Badby, who died aged 65.
It was parked with two wheels on the pavement — out of the way of passing traffic — ready to take Bill’s coffin to the service near his home in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The family had even told police in case of disruption to the road.
But Doy, in his 30s, refused to budge when mourners objected.
Bill’s daughter-in-law Rachael, 24, raged yesterday: “We could not believe what we were seeing.
“It was obvious it was a funeral. There were 40 people dressed in black outside the funeral parlour. He just marched up to us and told us we were causing a hazard.
“People were starting to get really angry and my sister-in-law ripped up the ticket and threw it back at him. It ruined the day.”
The family complained to police and the ticket was later cancelled.
But Rachael added: “There was no apology.” Doy said: “I did not realise a funeral was ongoing.”

He stopped under a No Parking sign outside a church, then donned a peaked cap to slap £50 tickets on at least ten cars left nearby.
The Sun’s Crime Editor Mike Sullivan saw him and took these pics. He said the warden got “flustered” when asked if his bosses knew what he was doing.
