Some ways to get people coming and to make the boards more active?

I just need some ideas...i really want this site to be elite some day like IOW was. But at the pace its going, well i have to admit its going nowhere really.

I can see no improvements on the mainsite. Me and Cena are the only ones posting news and its hard to do it by ourselves. Because for him, its not his natural job, and well me, i have to get off this chair sometimes, yknow?

Barely anyone posts in the forums anymore...

So yea, any ideas?

Dude, define what you mean by "Elite".... I Wouldnt say IOW was ever part of an "Elite" ranking, if anything NODQ etc are the Elitist forums.....As for this pace we are going at, I would love you too explain the "pace", If anything were going places, For a start we've got over 1,000 members. You've gotta remember places dont grow over time, Foundations need to be made etc. We've made some plantations for this place to grow, and for discussion too continue, For a start we've added a Media section so we can "educate" etc, and Generate discussion.... So yeah go figure.....

End of the day, i'm out of college at the moment, spending almost all of my free time looking out for jobs, and filling out application forms....Maybe we do need some "hired" hands to help post the news.... But you know, that's not up too me....or is it

Look at the discussion, and i'm talking about the serious smark like discussion going on in the WWE section, it's awesome...We've got long replys, and interesting opinions shared.

Then look at every where else on the board, and look where the discussion is, If you want Intelligent discussion my friend, your going to have to go out and well Start a topic....

As in Elite, i mean the forums are active a lot, the mainsite gets visited a lot. Just like IOW. I remember back in the day, i started a thread, and the next day, it would be on page 2. Crazy...

The WP Mainsite? Well it doesnt have much. It has news articles, 5 biographies, some columns, a section for ladies to look at, and a poll. But thats what every mainsite has. We need some thing out of the ordinary to attract members to stay.

Well, I'm betting Trevor doesnt want to pay to hire someone right now...since hes busy with college and everything. It'd just be nice if we got lets say...5 news reporters so our mainsite would be updated frequently. And someone like Wilse to come back...after all, hes the one that made the mainsite. He probaly wont, but some graphics maker dude.

We get like 4 posts average for a thread about wrestling. Most discussion is always from the pointless posts thread and game threads like "HOT OR NOT" or "Poster above you". Yea, i admit im struggling at starting threads. But im not a thread kind of guy. Im more of a replyer...

Best way to keep boards active is to keep moderators and general site workers to a minimum.. I've always found it worked on my old boards, for some odd reason..

Reducing the ammount of staff will have a detrimental effect on the quality of posts.
I believe that, at the moment, WP has a pretty good balance between post quality and quantity. Some might disagree, but those people get banned :D

Yeah, I think we do have a good mix right now. The media forum is a great feature, and I think that Dr. Chazz's show will only enhance the quality here at WP.
