Welcome to week 2 of the Final Word. I hope you enjoy this latest column which is on the Undertakers return to the dark side but only to never get used often.

When he returned at Judgement day 2000 as the American Badass we all wanted him to go back to the deadman gimmick but he refused to go back, he stated that he didn’t want to go back to old gimmicks but evolve around them. So anyway we saw the American badass gimmick for quite a while and we kind of got used to it. But we were never happy about it but we had no choice in what he wanted. So he got rid of the Badass gimmick and came back as Deadman Inc and got his hair cut, and rode around on a bike. He then got injured and had elbow surgery. Rumours then hit the rounds that he was about to return to the dark side gimmick which had everyone tune in for and that we were marking for the dark side returned but only to be disappointed when he returned as the Biker. WWE dropped a big chance to have him come back as it really showed that we wanted him back on the dark side due to the numbers that were ready to mark out when the gong hit the arena and the old school music to hit but it didn’t and everyone were angry that the rumours were false.

Anyway we thought that we wouldn’t see another Dark side gimmick would not come back, which was not good since we were all demanding for it to come back. The WWE then thought they would give the dark side gimmick have its final run before he hangs his gloves up once and for all. Now you may think that Flair is wrestling at this age Undertaker can do the same, but the problem is Undertakers elbow is causing him problems, which has been causing him long term problems. So hanging up the gloves would be a good solution for him, he has done a lot of the WWE but there is a time and place that he can’t continue. And I believe the time is now.

Since Kane unmasked they had a plan for another Kane and Undertaker feud, which started at Survivor Series when Undertaker was fighting the owner, Vince McMahon in a Buried alive match. Undertaker had the upper hand in the match and was set to bury the owner but as he climbed the pay loader an explosion sent Undertaker all the way to the floor stunned from what happened he walked back towards the Grave and then Kane showed up, he laid some punches onto the Undertaker who fell into the grave. Kane proceeded to pull Vince out and made Vince go into the pay loader. Vince then lowered the soil into the grave as Kane did the trademark Taker finish with the hand in the air. So Undertaker is buried and the start of the feud is in place.

At Rumble 2004 we witnessed a sign aimed at the big red machine who was dominating the Rumble. He came out and started choke slamming anybody that was in the Rumble, the countdown hit 0 and the lights went out and a gong was heard. This prompted Kane to look up the ramp way thinking “this can’t be right I buried him.” But anyway that was a start of the many things that Kane and the world witnessing some strange signs that Undertaker was showing Kane that he is not buried and that he is out of the grave. Sending him signs that he will be at Mania and he is going to fighting his brother.

Wrestlemania then came on March 14th where we witnessed the return of the Deadman, which was a great moment. The only problem is that he came back with the old school music and druids but his outfit was still the Biker outfit. We learned that he came back in them as he was buried in them, thinking he might change them within the next few weeks but the thing that has changed was that he got a bandana which he wore when he was biker and the badass. Now we may be disappointed that the WWE dropped the ball on this one but to come to think of it, he never goes back to old gimmicks but rather evolve around it.

Right now they brought him back with all the hype behind it we have only seen him twice on Television, they did all this hyping his return up, but only to have the fans behind the TV sets to see him twice. We learned that we are only going to see him on Special occasions; this is signs that he is past it and can’t be on week in and week out. I think the time is up for Taker and that this shall be the final run for him. Just hopefully they have him go out on a bang and not manage to screw it up for him.

That is all from me; hope you enjoyed the Final Word. Leave feedback in here or pm me.

Thanks for Reading,

Thanks Duff as you see i scrapped the idea of Raw and Smackdown thoughts. And was it an improvement from the previous 1?

definately. I liked it much better, but i would still like to see more of your opinion in it rather than just stating what has happened. Sorry if i'm being over-criitical!
