- It looks like Ultimo Dragon will be returning to WWE under the name of Asai. He will be working as a heel without a mask. WWE is also considering putting him into a faction with Kenzo Suzuki.
Good thing Ultimo is coming back. I hope they actually use him this time.
A faction with Funaki, Kenzo, the chick, and "Sai" would be a great faction. Asian pride! :)
Although there would be a lot of factions on Smackdown...The Dudleyz, Kurts team, and if this one is made

Asai? Its great that Ultimo Dragon will be coming back soon, but under the name Asai, I just don't like that name. What was wrong with him using the same name he has had for years, "Ultimo Dragon!"

lmao@Asai. I think I might be right when I say this, but I think Ultimo was the guy who invented the Asai moonsault in wrestling. And that's why I was laughing at the name he'll be using.
He was, I think he wasn't given a good break under the mask. I would rather have him back under th mask and let him have one more decent run with it before completley changing what he has been for such a long time, Ultimo Dragon is him and Asai...I couldn't give 2craps about really. If he does go into the suzuki faction and starts to sing like him I may just hunt down the SD writier and butcher them...slowly.

yea... ultimo returning.. that's cool, teaming with kenzo... that's coolER than kenzo and rene and MUCH COOLER than kenzo's singing(i know SD! wana compete with raw, but not having a sylvan grenier singing terror on their show is something SD! should consider an advantage, i guess that's another one of many advantages SD! threw out the window).. but i'm not sure about him returning without the mask and under a new name... asai is a dumb name for a wrestler... i know he invented the asai moonsault that doesnt make the name asai any more acceptable for ultimo himself...

Well they are using the name Asai because his real name is Yoshihiro Asai. But yea it really is a dumb move. Ultimo Dragon is known for his mask and it really is a huge part of his character. I'll still watch him because Dragon is one of the most talented wrestlers in the world. I really hope that the WWE see how big a mistake it would be to take his mask away. This would be like unmasking Rey Mysterio ( yes I know it happened before) or Jushin Lyger or someone along those lines.
700th post... yay.

Well the WWE have done this before by removing a big part of there character, the mask. We all thought they would not do it with Kane, but they did. So i certainly think they will do it with Ultimo, if it doesn't hit with the fans the way they expect it too, they might put the mask back on him, but i doubt it. They will just not use him.

True but there has been many superstars who have taken off their mask and went on to have a great career, just to name a few, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Chavo Guerrero and Chris Benoit.

Yeah that's true that they've all become suscessfull without their masks. However, none of those wrestlers had ever reached the level of success enjoyed by the Ultimo Dragon while wearing the mask. For example, by the time any of the aformentioned wrestlers wrestled in a big name American promotion they were unmasked.

I agree with all of you, because Ultimo Dragon is one of the greatest high flyers the world has ever knowned. I have respect for Rey Mysterio, but think Ultimo Dragon's high flying moves are better and he has more quickness with the moves. He lands all of his moves so greatly.
I am glad he is coming back. I hope he wears the mask too, because that is what the world recognizes him by.
