I just wanted some opinions on who would win between Goldberg and Stone Cold. I know some of you ppl would have liked to see a match between those two, but it never happened.
In my opinion, it would be a great fight and a feud, but Stone Cold was a GM at the time. To me I think Stone Cold would do some damage to Goldberg that nobody has, but Goldberg would come out with the victory.
WHAT DO YOU PPL THINK? :D

I would have Stone Cold beat Goldberg seeing "Greenberg" is crap.
Thanks,
wow, i can tell this guy is going to get on great here. Two threads, and both of them about Goldberg. Word of advice Joker, never mention Goldberg again unless you are trying to point out crap signings by WWE.
For the record, in terms of ability, drawing power, and believability, Austin would lay Goldturd out cold every time.

Uh Yeah. Son, step into my virtual office and have a seat. We need to discuss some things here. As you may have guessed, Goldberg isn't exactly the most popular wrestler on this board. On another board most of us were on, there were a couple of guys who were Goldberg fans. One was a complete Goldberg mark and and other was more of an intelligent fan. Neither lasted that long. Understand what you are up against, because if the only topic you are going to talk about is why you like Goldberg and nothing else you won't last long here. I am being very real, because at least I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt.
Now to answer your question. If you are talking about a normal scripted WWE match the winner between Austin and Goldberg, it all depends on who the WWE management and creative team wants to win. However in a shoot fight Austin probably would kick Goldbergs ass. In case you didn't know, Goldberg got punked out and schooled by Jericho in a backstage incident. Do you think Austin would be worried about him. The only reason I would say Goldberg could win a real fight now is because of Austin's health. The reason Austin was GM so long and the reason they never did the Goldberg vs Austin match is because Austin's injuries from the past had taken their toll and he just cannot wrestle anymore. Yes, a lot of people wanted to see that match. However, due to Austin's bad condition, he could have had serious, severe, permanent injuries if he had wrestled that match. It just was not to be. Remember, Goldberg is the one that ended Bret Hart's career by giving him a concussion from a very careless mule kick. Now if they were wrestling both in the prime, Austin would school Goldberg in a wrestling match. There is a big difference between looking tough and being tough.

No chance in hell Goldberg will defeat Austin. Austin will destroy his abilities.

Austin should win easliy. There's one quality that Goldberg lacks, and that's wrestling ability. Back in the day, I wanted to Goldberg be the best, and pull of these ace moves, but after a few of his matches in the WWE, he was already boring. He can only do the same moves over and over, and at first they're great, but then pfffttt. Austin never had the best arsenal of moves, but neither did The Rock or even Hogan but all of these class "wrestlers", and I'd pay to see them wrestle anyday of the week. And seen as Goldberg is crap in the mic' too, and his two best feuds in the WWE he was carried (by The Rock and Jericho), it doesn't leave much of an arguement.
Summary
Goldberg < Austin

stunning steve austin had more moves than stonecold steve austin. Austin changed his moveset for his character. goldberg never learned to wrestle a match other than the 2 min forumla they taught him. but i will give him credit his 2 min sqaush matches are better than most other folk's sqaush matches.

Mumbles is right, Austin at one time was a great wrestler but he significantly trimmed down his moveset for a few reasons.
1) Age- As Austin got older, his wrestling ability obviously started to dwindle. He could no longer perform the moves that he once could in his younger and more agile days. Alot of people don't relize that when Austin entered the WWE, he was probably past his prime even then.
2) Health- Alot of people starting watching Austin after he suffered the broken neck at the hands of a botched Owen Hart piledriver. After this injury his mobility and wrestling ability were obviously drastically affected. Also later in Austin's career he was having knee problems and other health problems that go along with a long career in the brutal industry that we call wrestling.
3) Character- Austin relized that for his Stone Cold Steve Austin character to be successfull that he really couldn't be a technical wrestler. A character who was a beer drinking, foul mouthed, redneck would make sense only if he was a brawler. Austin saw this and changed into a brawler.
4) The WWE style- you hear this alot when workers are brought into the WWE, " they're currently training in OVW to learn the WWE style". This WWE style isn't benificial at all to wrestler's matches. It makes the matches much more slower paced and repetitive. This really affected how Austin did.
Goldberg was affected as well however. He was a much better wrestler when he first broke into WCW. He gradually got worse and worse though. As for who's better, Austin wins easily. Goldberg never really put on a classic match with anyone, Austin has had many. On top of that Austin is really good on the mic and I know deff people who would have better mic skills than Goldberg.

Kid, the only thing I slightly disagree with is saying Austin was past his prime when he first came to WWE. I think he was just reaching his peak. Austin wasn't that old when he first came to WWE(lower 30s). I know he and HBK are about the same age. He probably could have done the same moves he did as Stunning Steve, who I don't recall doing that many high risk moves anyway. However, you are right in that age does have an effect over time. The rest of the post is great.

Austin would give Goldberg the beating of a lifetime.
