View Full Version : Trivia Competition!!!

Ok, here is how this thread works. I start by asking a wrestling trivia question. The next person answers and then asks a question of their own, then the next person does the same, and so on...

Yes, I know it's hard to beleive, actual Trivia in the Trivia forum and not just the typical "Which One?" or Which is better/worse" thread you see.

If a question is impossibly hard, take your best guess and then ask a new question, the writer of the really tough question can provide the answer if you didn't get it right.

We will go through 50 questions (no repeat questions). The person with the most correct answers at the end of the 50 questions will win a whopping 100 points for the store and be announced as the Trivia Champion!

We will start with an easy one: What was the name of Al Snow's dog? (The one that the Bossman chopped up and forced Al to eat)

Kalen™
09-30-2004, 06:28 AM
Answer: Pepper!!!

New Question: Who won the 2000 Royal Rumble?

Ace_Megastar
09-30-2004, 07:29 AM
Answer: The Rock won the 2000 Royal Rumble (but only just! hehe)

Question: How many times did Rowdy Roddy Piper win the NWA U.S Heavyweight Champoinship? (Extra bonus points if you can name his opponents).

Kalen™
09-30-2004, 07:44 AM
Can I have a try and say 2 times? No idea on the opponents though - tell me if I am right and then I will ask another question.

unpossibl1
09-30-2004, 08:00 AM
Go ahead and ask your question Kalen, that will keep things moving...if you are right you will get the point for the question, if not we can offer up this question as a special bonus point question....whoever gets it gets 10 shop points or something like that.

K.P. McKoy
09-30-2004, 08:02 AM
Yes it was two times. Defeated Flair in 81, Valentine in 83. He did win it in 99, but it was, of course, the WCW US Title.

unpossibl1
09-30-2004, 08:03 AM
Ok, thanks KP, so Kalen gets that one right...I guess I will ask the next question.

Who played the role of Ted DiBiase's fake Undertaker?

K.P. McKoy
09-30-2004, 08:06 AM
I believe that would be Brian Lee.

NEXT: How many times did Crash Holly(RIP) hold the Hardcore Championship?

Kalen™
09-30-2004, 08:20 AM
Crash Holly won the Hardcore title an amazing 11 times whilst it was still in existance..

QUESTION: How many times has Edge been IC Champion in his WWE career?

DjM
09-30-2004, 03:35 PM
I'm going to guess and say 3

How many times was Andre the Giant WWE Champion?

TheMainMan25
09-30-2004, 03:37 PM
I don't think Andre the Giant was ever champion, so zero is my answer.

Who is the most decorated WWE Champion ever? Meaning who has held the strap the most times?

Kalen™
09-30-2004, 11:24 PM
Well firstly, 'DjM', you were wrong, Edge has been IC champion 5 times not 3..

AND MainMan25, you are also wrong - Andre was champion once.. [details: 1988: February: Andre beats Hulk Hogan for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship in contraversial fashion. The count was made by the twin of referee Earl Hebner, who counted three even though Hogan's shoulders were off the mat. Andre handed the title over to Ted DiBiase. WWF President Jack Tunney stripped DiBiase of the title and puts it up for grabs in a tournament at Wrestlemania 4

So that's 2 more points for The Bona Fide Columnist lol..

Moving on.. The answer to your question MainMan.. it seems The Rock is the most decorated WWE Champ ever with 7 title runs..

Next Question - How many times did Chyna win the Women's Championship?

The Great One
09-30-2004, 11:50 PM
Once i believe?

When was the last time Kane won a title? I mean what title did he hold last.

Kalen™
10-01-2004, 12:00 AM
Yes, amazingly Chyna only was Women's Champion once in her long run with the WWE - seems that even as a dominant women's superstar, she alike the Undertaker and others is able to be a major player in the WWE storylines without needing a title - therefore she would be an asset to the company (as you can see - this individual would love to see Chyna as a part of World Wrestling Entertainment once again)..

Answer to last question: I believe that the last title that Kane was to hold would be the World Tag Championship with RVD before being unmasked a while back..

Next Question: Sticking with Kane, what was the date that Kane won his first IC Title?

Y2J World Champ
10-01-2004, 12:21 AM
Answer: May 20, 2001

Next Question: How many times has Mankind won the WWE Tag Team Titles with different tag team partners?

Kalen™
10-01-2004, 12:28 AM
That's right Y2J - he won it off Triple H at Judgement Day 01..

Answer to above question: It seems Mankind has only won the tag team championship with two partners (Kane & The Rock) but in total has had the title around his waist 5 times..

Next Question: The highest rated moment in "Raw" history was a rating of 8.4 on a date prior to 2000 - name the date or at least the segment which recieved this amazing rating.. (might be a hard one, but we'll see...)

Y2J World Champ
10-01-2004, 12:40 AM
Your right Kalen it was only Kane and Rock.

Answer: For your question (this is a bit of a guess) I believe it was the "Its your Life" segment between The Rock and Mankind in which Mankind brought out Rock's high school sweetheart, teacher and coach.

Next Question: What was the last match Triple H won before winning his first ever WWF/E Title?

Kalen™
10-01-2004, 01:09 AM
I have no idea in the world what the answer to that is Y2J - I know he won the title off Mankind on Raw on the 08/23/99 but cannot for the life of me work out his last match before this..?

And just to clarify, you are correct in that segment - [details: The highest rating to date that "Raw" has ever had was on September 27, 1999, in an episode that featured a 25-minute-long "This Is Your Life" segment with Mankind and The Rock. The segment received an 8.4 rating.] Of course, this is amazing considering Raw's average this week for example was a 3.5 cable rating..

Anyone know Y2J's questions answer??????? Good luck :goodjob:

Gravity
10-01-2004, 01:20 AM
I'm gonna go with the last one I remember and that is when he beat The Rock in a strap match at Fully Loaded '99.

Kalen™
10-01-2004, 01:27 AM
I cannot believe how much research I had to go through for the answer of Y2J's question..

Answer: The last match HHH won before beating Mankind for the WWE Title on August 23rd on Raw was Triple H d. Ken Shamrock after the referee stopped the match due to Shamrock's internal bleeding on 7-26-99 - however one day before this Raw episode was FULLY LOADED PPV on the 7-25-99 where Triple H supposably beat The Rock in a strap match..

Damn that was a lot of research Y2J - why you do it to me? That better be right..

EDIT: Damn it!!!!!!! - as I was typing that Styles got in there - I better get a point or something!!

And Styles Clash - where is your question??

ANYWAY - I will ask.. NEXT QUESTION..

Who was the first WWE/F superstar to enter the arena when Raw debuted on TNN?? (might be hard, but hey - Y2J did it to us!!)

Gravity
10-01-2004, 01:31 AM
Well, I wasn't sure if my answer was right so I didn't post a question but we'll just go with yours...

Kalen™
10-01-2004, 01:34 AM

12
10-03-2004, 01:34 PM
In what city did Kurt Angle lose both the European and Intercotinental Titles in one match live on PPV?

Kalen™
10-03-2004, 01:43 PM
Answer: It was at Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California - WrestleMania XVI - in a match against Benoit and Y2J - both of the others took one of the belts..

Next Question: Molly Holly's first televised WWE match was a Women's Title match against Jackie on a 1998 episode of Sunday Night Heat - what name did she wrestle as?

12
10-03-2004, 02:09 PM
Starla saxon or something like that, was when I first started to get back into wrestling, i also had this quesiton on another trivia thing.

Kalen™
10-03-2004, 02:12 PM
Molly Holly's first televised WWE match was a Women's Title match against Jackie on a 1998 episode of Sunday Night Heat. She wrestled under the name Starla Saxton.

So close enough :goodjob: - so where's your next question 12?? Remember when you answer you ask a new one straight away.. :)

10-03-2004, 02:27 PM
Sorry I am complacent... OK easy one

How long did it take the Ultimate Warrior to defeat the Honkytonk Man at Summerslam 1988?

Kalen™
10-04-2004, 08:30 AM
Ultimate Warrior pinned Honkytonk Man (0:31) to win the WWF I-C Title. <= hence, it took the Warrior 31 seconds to win the above match.

Next Question: Sticking with Summerslam - what two competitors fought it out for the WWE Heavyweight Title at Summerslam 1995?

Gravity
10-04-2004, 09:21 PM
Kevin "Diesel" Nash defeated King Mabel in the Title Match.

Who interfered in Undertaker's match against Ric Flair at Wrestlemania X8?

Ace_Megastar
10-05-2004, 06:08 AM
A: Arn Anderson

Q: Who wrestled in the first ever match for the WWWF (later renamed WWF, now WWE) Heavyweight Championship? (Clue: The match was at Madison Square Garden on May 17 1963)

Kalen™
10-08-2004, 11:04 AM
Rogers lost the title to Bruno Sammartino on May 17, 1963. <== correct?

Next Question: How many times was "The Macho Man" Randy Savage WWF Champion?

Ace_Megastar
10-08-2004, 02:06 PM
Yep kalen, that's the right answer! And the answer to your question is:Twice. He won it the first time in the tournament at WrestleMania 4, beating Ted DiBiase in the final, and he won his 2nd title from Ric Flair.

Q: Which wrestler coined the catchphrase "Pencil Neck Geek"? He even had a song by the same name!

Kalen™
10-08-2004, 02:39 PM
Well I am led to believe that the catchphrase "Pencil Neck Geek" was coined by the one and only "Classy" Freddy Blassy (R.I.P).. correct?

Next Question: What former WWE Superstar passed away on October 22, 2000? (Hint: It was from a heart attack)......

Ace_Megastar
10-09-2004, 07:26 AM
That would be Rodney Anoia, better known to the world as Yokozuna. And yep kalen, right again!

Next question: Who was the first masked wrestler?

Kalen™
10-09-2004, 08:02 AM
How about a hint here? All I can find out is that the first masked wrestler was named: "The Masked Wrestler" (believe it or not LOL) and he debuted in Paris in 1873..

Ace_Megastar
10-11-2004, 05:04 AM
OK, I'll have to concede that one, because until now I had no idea there was a French masked wrestler in 1873, and that beats my information by about 30 years! lol All my knowledge concerns American wrestling (even tho I'm Australian), so I'll have to say you are right, even tho I've never heard of this one! hehe
Since you haven't asked a question, I will rephrase this one! So...... Who was the first AMERICAN masked wrestler? lol.............

Kalen™
10-16-2004, 12:17 PM
It's been long enough so I think I am safe in saying this question has stumped us - for that I think you will be rewarded with double points.. moving on though, to get this Trivia Comp alive I will ask the next question..

Who won the title from Triple H when he was having his first title run??

12
10-16-2004, 07:05 PM
Vince Fricking McMahon, who could forget.

Who did Pat Paterson face in a steel cage match on September 24th 1979 and for what title? (both right for the point)

Ace_Megastar
10-18-2004, 07:51 AM
Pat Patterson held the Intercontinental Belt in 1979, but I don't recall who from. As far as I know, he was just given the belt. He was the first Intercontinenal Champion after the then WWWF killed off it's United States belt. The federation decided that the name "Intercontinental" gave the title a more 'world-wide' appeal. Since I'm not really sure if I'm right or not, I wont ask a question.
The answer to my Masked wrestler question, however, is Mort Henderson (and you wonder why he changed his name! hehe), who wrestled under a hood as "The Masked Marvel" in order to bolster a sagging career. In 1916, in a match against then NWA Champion Joe Stetcher, he was unmasked, thus earning the dubious distinction of also being the first wrestler to be unmasked!

How many Super-Hero's have the WWF/WWE has had ( and named then if you can ) ?

K.P. McKoy
10-19-2004, 07:15 AM
Superheroes huh? Starting now, there's Hurricane and Rosey(he apparently graduated from superhero school). Before, Hurricane had Mighty Molly. There's three there. The Blue Blazer was a superhero. Now, any 80s wrestler could be considered a superhero, but I think that Sergeant Slaughter counts because GI Joes were comicbook superheroes. So the answer is hopefully five. I can't think of any others, or another question at the moment, so I shall return.

Don Carlito
10-19-2004, 07:19 AM
You forgot Mr. America lol

Which Wrestler was given the World Title on RAW by Eric?

K.P. McKoy
10-19-2004, 07:38 AM
Mr. America, okay, I guess he was a superhero. But how could anyone forget Trips being awarded the belt. He held it for like two years after that. Oh wait, he's still holding it.

Next Question:
What wrestler has won the WWF/E European Championship the most times?

Kalen™
10-19-2004, 10:24 AM
Well as far as research can show it seems that D-Lo Brown AND William Regal have both held it the most times.. FOUR times each..

Next Question: Who was the 1997 King of the Ring? (Lame question but at least someone might answer this and keep the thread a going..)

Ace_Megastar
10-19-2004, 12:37 PM
A: Hunter Hearst Helmsley, better known these days known as HHH.

Q: Which two wrestlers were in the "Last Battle Of Atlanta"?

Kalen™
10-29-2004, 07:35 AM
No Idea.. moving on..

Which WWE Superstar's real name is Nelson Frazier?

Ace_Megastar
10-29-2004, 02:19 PM
A: Mabel aka Viscera aka Nelson Knight.

The answer to my "Last Battle Of Atlanta" question was Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich and 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer. It was a very famous cage match at the Atlanta Omni in 1983, and for years was known as the 'bloodiest' match ever!

Q: Which former WWE wrestler is the son of 'Tough' Tony Bourne?

Ace_Megastar
11-07-2004, 11:09 AM
Hmmmm, seems like no takers yet again, so I guess I'll just tell you. The answer is 'Maniac' Matt Bourne, aka Doink The Clown. I wonder if I score points for answering my own questions hehe. OK, Here's another one:
Q. Maurice Vachon used to team up with his brother. By what name was his brother known?

R≥K≥O
11-10-2004, 12:55 AM
A: Paul "The Butcher" Vachon

Q: From which city does Zach Gowen hail?

Kalen™
11-10-2004, 02:40 AM
That would be Detriot, Michigan, USA!!

Now I am not going to ask another question because that's at least 50 questions come and gone now so we should have a winner!!!

Who shall it be???

R≥K≥O
11-10-2004, 01:03 PM
actually it hasnt been 50 questions...

Kalen™
11-11-2004, 08:42 AM
Well this thing isn't going anywhere.. it is damn near close!!! :goodjob:

Ace_Megastar
11-12-2004, 03:49 AM
Well, if we still need questions, here's one:
Q: Who were the original members of The Four Horsemen?

R≥K≥O
11-12-2004, 01:54 PM
Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Ole Anderson.

Who did Ric Flair defeat to become the First ever WCW champion.

Ace_Megastar

A: Sting

Q: In which wrestling event were 76,000 hot sandwiches, 7,000 slices of pizza, 25,000 orders of popcorn and 15,000 gallons of beer sold?

Ace_Megastar
11-25-2004, 09:34 AM
Hmmmmm, seems like no one can answer my questions lately, seeing this one is over 10 days old hehe. Am I making them too hard? lol
Ok, the answer is WrestleMania 3. So, here is the next question, and I'll keep it relative:

Q What was the official attendance figure of WrestleMania 3?

Ace_Megastar
11-30-2004, 10:43 AM
Hmmmm either no one knows or I'm the only one playing along anymore. Ok I'll answer this one too: 93,173 (or so Vince McMahon reckons lol). Let's have one more try with a WM 3 question, and this time it's an easy one:

Which two wrestlers were in the main event of WrestleMania 3?

Kalen™
11-30-2004, 11:33 AM
Answer: It was Andre the Giant VS Hulk Hogan with Hulk getting the pin at 12 mins and one second :goodjob:

That lands us on about 50 questions so let's leave this with Trevor to decide the winner..

Ace_Megastar
12-13-2004, 12:10 PM
Still waiting.....

12-16-2004, 11:23 AM
Sorry guys, been busy as hell lately and forgot all about this competition....I will check it out tomorrow....if anyone wants to do a rough tally just look and see who answered the most questions correctly.

Kalen™
12-19-2004, 01:08 AM
Okay, I have spent about 45 minutes trying to work out the winner of this thread.. which is difficult due to so many people attempting to answer questions and different pages but.. it seems.. there may be a winner..

Everyone that answered a question correctly received a point - if someone asked a question which no-one could answer or which was answered incorrectly they received two points for that question.. therefore the final results are as follows..

The Great One - 1 Point
Don Carlito - 1 Point
Styles Clash - 2 Points
Y2J World Champ - 2 Points
RKOrton - 2 Points
12 - 3 Points
K.P McKoy - 4 Points

Now here lies the final two and most difficult trivia competitors.. myself and Ace Megastar..

Ace Megastar has been awarded with double points 4 times, and has answered 9 questions correctly..

Kalen has been awarded double points twice and answered 11 questions correctly..

Therefore that leaves..

Ace Megastar - 17 Points
Kalen (yours truly) - 20 Points

If someone would like to double check this (*looks at Trevor*) feel free to do so..

I was going to say Ace would take the win due to myself being a member of staff but the fact is this competition began on the 30th of September and I was not made a staff member until the 19th of November which is about when this thread died so perhaps my hard work and effort will pay off.

We will have to see what Trevor decides on this matter due to him being the almighty leader of WrestlePower. Perhaps both top contenders will be rewarded :eyebrows:

Thankyou and good-day. *Exhausted*

That's up to Trevor - this actual competition won't be restarted but a new one may begin.. the only problem is that if you look at the last attemp (this thread).. it took 2 months to reach 50 questions.. so it may not be worth it but if we see some interest Trevor may want to give the Wrestling Trivia Competition another chance..

Kalen if its two points for stumping someone and one point for a correct answer, then your maths is wrong.

Ace Megastar has been awarded with double points 4 times, and has answered 9 questions correctly..

Kalen has been awarded double points twice and answered 11 questions correctly..

Ace.
Double points four times =4*2=8
answered 9 questions= 9*1=9
total= 9+8=17

Kalen
Double points twice = 2*2=4
answered 11 questions= 11*1=11
total = 11+4=15

Therefore Ace has more points and is therefore the winner

Kalen™
01-31-2005, 07:46 PM
I think I made a mistake with the totalling but at this point I couldn't really care less, I think it would just be nice to be resolved.. if someone could go through and do a new total quickly and get this thread closed and a winner revealed that would be great.
