This weeks Raw didn't quite live up to the potential of last weeks. Yes, it had some high points, but it just didn't have the same feel to it.

Nonetheless, here's my thoughts on last nights show.

Benoit vs Conway - Not sure the point of this match. I'm not even sure why the World Champ was IN the first match. However, the Johnny Nitro stip added a little something extra. For what it was, it wasn't bad. I liked the double team move by La Resistance, that looked pretty cool.

A Regal Return - William Regal is BACK!!! I totally marked out when he appeared on camera. I'm glad he's finally back, even if it's not to full wrestling capacity.

Jericho vs Hardy - Another pointless Hardy match that saw him get squashed all to promote the Christian/Jericho match. It's a damn shame what the WWE has done with Hardy. That said, I loved the running enziguri! It looked awesome!

Foley's promo - That was intense! The king of hardcore is back! Foley really sold the promo well, showing a human side and a more hardcore & edgy side.

Shelton vs Triple H Pt 2 - I was fearing the worst when this match was only at the end of the first hour. However, those fears were put to rest when Benjamin beat Triple H AGAIN via count out. I have to definately give props to Triple H. I guess he's finally starting to listen to his critics. All of Evolution being at ringside gave the illusion that Triple H had the match in the bag. Foley, Benoit & HBK running down during the post-match beatdown was a nice touch and it made for a nice main event next week.

Women's Battle Royal - I loved this match. Why? Because everything happened during the commercial break! Seriously, who does that?! I guess it proves the fact that the WWE really doesn't give a damn about women's wrestling.

Tajiri vs Christian - I'm interested to see where this thing with Tajiri and Coach is going. Perhaps a match at Backlash? Not a bad match, as it gave time for both men to get their spots in.

Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore - I really don't like this gimmick. It will most likely hurt Dinsmore's carrer. However, it was funny as hell!!

Rhyno vs Kane - I'm glad Rhyno's getting a better push on Raw than he did on SD!. What the hell happened to Edge's arm? I swear, I am not liking the Edge/Kane match because it could make or break either man. Kane can't afford to go down any lower or he'll be seen as a joke. Edge has to win to gain momentum for the supposed Triple H/Edge match. I'm not looking forward to this match.

Hey Shua, nice Raw Review!

I also didn't like the Eugene/Regal storyline. I am happy we get to see Regal back in the WWE, but I think the WWE is taking this storyline way to far. I don't find anything commical in making fun of the mentally ill. This storyline might end up next to the Katie Vic angle, and the times when Mae Young gave birth to a hand... I think I might write a column about this.

Great Review Shua :)

On the other hand (lol. Like the pun there? Heh heh...I crack myself up) the Dinsmore/Regal storyline could get more interesting. I think we should have Eugene win a few matches with Regal at his side. However, one week Eugene losses, and beats up Regal.....non-retarded like, more mentally unstable. Next week, we see a new Dinsmore....a more psycho Dinsmore, who starts to berate Regal.....leading into a match at.....the Raw PPV after Backlash (which, I believe is Bad Blood). I think that'd be MUCH better than continuing to have Dinsmore as the retarded nephew of Bischoff. Personally, I could also see him teaming with Kane after he goes psycho.

The only way the whole "Eugene" thing works out is if he turns out to be an idiot savant. He could be completely handicapped outside the ring, but inside be amazing. Otherwise we will be watching guys beat the crap out of a retarded guy week in and week out, and something just isn't right about that. We will have to wait and see on this one...
