-The Associated Press reports that the WWE has already approached Olympic Gold Medalist, Karam Ibrahim. Here is a portion of the article:

ATHENS (AFP) --Wrestling gold medalist Karam Ibrahim could soon be searching for an in-your-face nickname to be put in lights alongside those of WWE stars The Rock, Triple H and Hulk Hogan.

The charismatic and athletic Ibrahim revealed he had been tapped up by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in the United States, appropriately by someone calling himself the 'Big Man', after winning Egypt their first Olympic gold medal since 1948 on Thursday.

-Jim Ross later confirmed that the WWE has been in contact with Ibrahim

I'd much rather see ACTUAL wrestling rather than WWE wrestling. It's more entertaining.

You also forgot Chris Benoit :)

Imagine if he did join the WWE and would later become another Kurt Angle or Chris Benoit. That would be amazing, I just hope if he does join the WWE that he doesn't begin to get an attitude and think he's "all that."

Sounds good, but Kurt Angle didn't just get famous in the WWE by being an Olympian, he had great chariosma and was able to adapt his character when he needed to in order to get the best reaction from the crowd. This guy has got a lot to live up to, hopefully they won't bring him in under some crappy foriegn gimmick that bases itself on his nationality.

One bad thing for this guy is that the WWE are likely to chuck an anti-American gimmick on him from the offset. Its sad but true. It makes sense for them to approach the Olympic champion, Angle being case in point. Be interesting to see if this guy takes up the offer and if he does what the WWE intend on doing with him. But I just got that bad anti-American feeling in my gut.

PK I totally agree, and you know how valuable my agreeing is to any cause.

That'd be cool but I hope he doesn't go with Kurt's olympic champion gimmick. Recycled gimmicks suck.

I just hope they don't turn him into an anti-american because seeing how he is from Egypt the WWE might say, "why not have him be a anti-american terrorist wanna-be". But hopefully he can be just as good if not better than Kurt Angle, Charlie Haas, Shelton benjamin and Brock Lesnar.
