I (The-Noodle) went to The Return of the Deadman Tour on Friday 27th August. It was so awesome, that I decided I would make a thread telling you all about it. It will be brief so that it doesn't get boring.

The show began with Torrie Wilson walking Tony Jimmal (sp?) to the ring. Then he introduced Teddy Long and Teddy just gave us a "holla" and went on about how great we were. He told us all about the show tonight with 3 titles on the line.

Match 1 - Rene Dupree and Luther Reigns vs. Billy Gunn (accompanied by an Aussie Media lady) and RVD
This match was actually very entertaining with RVD taking the win with a Five Star on Dupree. We also got to see the Fame-Asser. This match got plenty of crowd cheering coz it was the opening match. Very good and quick match.

Match 2 - Charlie Haas (with Jackie) vs. Kenzo Suzuki (with Heroku)
This match was quite good with a lot of submission holds, etc. Suzuki spat in Jackie's face, and Heroku blew that powder in her eyes which distracted Haas and Suzuki came from behind to jab the fan Heroku was holding in Haas' neck to take the win.

Match 3 - Heidendreich with Heyman vs. Funaki
Heidendreich came out with Heyman and Paul began talking trash and Funaki interrupted and said that Paul "sucks", was very funny. Anyway ... Funkai jobbed to Heidendreich quite easily and used some weird spinning slam to beat Funaki. Funny thing was that he left with different music to what he came out in (like Brock when he started with heaps of different music (LOL)).

Match 4 - Cruiserweight Championship
Rey Mysterio vs. Spike Dudley
Match was OK, Spike ran away and walked up the ramp with his belt coz he didn't want to wrestle. Then he stopped half way up the ramp and began waving his arms to signal for the Dudleyz to come out and be by his side. Match continued with some cheap shots. Dudleyz tripped Rey when trying to do 619, Ref didn't see it but from the reaction of the crowd he told Bubba and D-Von to leave the ring. They got pissed and exited. Match ended with Spike rolling him up and holding onto the second rope to take the win and remain Champion.

Dawn Marie, Torrie Wilson and Jackie Gayda came out and began shooting T-Shirts into the crowd with the Bazooka gun. Very entertaining when the took off their shirts and through them into the crowd.

Match 5 - WWE Championship
JBL vs. Undertaker
JBL began talking trash about how Australia sucks and he wishes he was back home watching USA dominate the Olympics and not be in a hole like Australia. Crowd was pissed and he began chanting J-B-L (and the crowd said "SUCKS" after each repitition). Undertaker interrupted and crowd went wild. Made a very cool entrance. Match began very slow and boring and took JBL 5-10 mins to get back in the ring. Remained boring then when it began JBL was getting beaten until Rene Dupree arrived and Undertaker hit him off the apron. JBL got Clothesline to Hell but UT kicked out. UT landed the leg drop on the apron and got Old School in as well, which was great to see. JBL began working on UT's leg with Steel Steps and using a Steel Chair to hit him on the leg when Ref was down coz he got in the way of a Clothesline earlier. In the end he got the Last Ride and new Ref ran down which Dupree hit, so 2 Refs were down and out. JBL used title belt to hit UT down and out which caused the Ref to DQ him when he saw him out of the corner of his eye. UT chokeslammed Dupree and Tombstoned JBL afterwards and left the ring with a huge cheer.

INTERMISSION!

Match 6 - WWE Tag Team Championship
London and Kidman vs. Dudleyz
Good match with hig flying moves but in the entrances London and Kidman got absolutely no pop at all, which wasn't a good sign. Everyone was still eating and **** coz they gave no warning so half the arena was empty. Anyway ... lots of high-flying. London landed the 450 Splash for the win. Very entertaining match.

Match 7 - Best of 5 Series with the 3rd match
Booker T vs. John Cena
Cena got very big pop but so did Booker. Match started slow with several attempts at FU and Scissors Kick. Was gonna do Spineroonie but said screw it coz we're not important enough. Towards the end Cena got 5 knuckle Shuffle and was about to get the win with Booker reversing FU and going for the roll up with pulling on the tights to steal the win. Cena was upset and made some cool little raps to the Ref. Did the "Aussie Aussie Oi Oi" Chants, etc.

Match 8 - Eddie vs. Kurt Angle
Everyone was excited for the Angle "You Suck" Chants as it would be the first ever for people in Sydney. Angle cam with Luther and received some of the loudest You Suck Chants I have heard (on TV). Match was very entertaining with some lying by Eddie, etc. Funny thing was we had some gronk behind us bagging out Kurt's ass. It was hillarious. Eddie rubbed Kurt's head and then pulled his straps to hit his nipples. It was a classic. Match was overall very good. Tried the Angle Slam several times but missed. Eddie got the win with an OK Frog Splash. Luther got involved a little but no much. After the match Eddie thanked all of us and that was the end.

Once again, I apologise but this was just off the top of my head and some info could be a little different. This was definitely better than RAW last year in Sydney when I went. I give it 9/10.

Biggest Pops
1. Undertaker
2. John Cena
3. Rey Mysterio

Disappointments
1. Big Show didn't turn up (we were expecting him to come and he never showed)
2. Undeertaker match was not the last match (would have been better at the end)
3. No Autograph signings (they needed to sleep early for Brisbane the next night)

In all it was great with awesome atmosphere and crowd involvement with Aussie Oi, You Suck, Wanker, specific name chants and also the clapping to help them get out of a choke hold, etc.

Questions and Comments are very welcome ...

Interesting development when Dupree interefered in the JBL/Undertaker match. I doubt that this is something that might happen in the future but it would seem interesting to see a Rene Dupree/Undertaker feud seeing how Rene always talks about being the Phenom or something like that.

Dawn Marie, Torrie Wilson and Jackie Gayda came out and began shooting T-Shirts into the crowd with the Bazooka gun. Very entertaining when the took off their shirts and through them into the crowd.

Dam, too bad I wasn't there to witness this.

My cousin tried taking photos with the Digital but didn't come out to well, so he mad mini-videos with the Digital which worked much better

Big Show is supposed to be coming back? Why was he gone in the first place?

Yes Big Show was supposed to be coming back and remember GD he left coz he was fired coz he lost to Eddie and he got pissed and paralysed Kurt.

lol yeah now I remember. Kinda...I remember him being fired then beating up Kurt and causing him to fall and get hurt. That's all I really remembered because I wasn't watching wrestling much then.

But what was the REAL reason he left? Like was he injured or needed time off with family?

Big Show was injured and had to have surgery, I believe it was his knee.

Yeah I heard that it was due to Injury time-off. But I'm not 100% sure. This is just coming from word-of-mouth sources. But we were hoping a triple threat with Eddie, Kurt and Show but it never happened coz I mean all the matches were singles or tag's. Would of been better if there was a variety. But hey .. who am I to complain?? They came and Undertaker was there that's good enough for me. Just have to wait for next year.

Sounded like you had a good time there. I dunno if it's the first showing you've been too or not, but I remember my first house show. When the T-Shirts were given out, it was by this one dude. You on the other hand seemed to be more lucky, the divas came out and did it.

Nah this is my second WWE event I have been to. My first one was last year this month, when the RAW brand came "The Ruthless Aggression Tour". But a lot of wrestlers were out or couldn't make it so this year was much better than last.

I would have gone but I wasn't willing to pay $350 for Smackdown! Superstars, honestly.. if Raw comes back and the card is good.. I will be going - front row..

Where did you sit Noodle?

The-Noodle
08-28-2004, 05:16 AM
Yeah front row was expensive. Our tickets were $65 and we were looking at the ring from side on, watching them on the side, walk down the ramp. Wasn't to high. Better seats than last year. Was the front of the middle section. A little hard to explain in words.

Kalen™
08-28-2004, 06:35 AM
Well I will be sure to go to the next show in Australia as long as Raw is hosting the event - if I am going I better be seeing HBK. I don't mind paying the $350 for front row, but as long as I get something out of it - you seem like you had a great experiance!!

I also believe you get a memorabilia chair to keep if you sit front!! I think a signing or something would be great!! Was there much merchandise for sale? How were the prices?

The-Noodle
08-28-2004, 06:53 AM
Yeah HBK was there last year.

Was there much merchandise for sale? How were the prices?

There were heaps of stalls that were really busy selling Official Merchandise. Things there were heaps expensive. Food, Clothes and everything. Also the magazine booklets they had there weren't even Official one's. Last year they had Official Ruthless Aggression Tour booklets. Where as, this year they just had a combined booklet with stats of SD AND RAW superstars simply so they could use them at every tour they go to this year. They weren't up to date either. They had Heidendreich on RAW and some superstars who had left. And this cost $25!!!!!!!!

No worries about that. Chances are that I will most likely go next year as well. Last year was the first time they had come to Sydney in like 15 years. So now that they know to come every year. I will most likely go every year. If you here a holla back then it's me all right ;)

Hey Noodle, I was there as well and it was friccan awsome. I definatly think it was better than the RAW tour last year

I was 2 rows back from ringside on the opposite side of the ramp.

Very kick arse seats.

I got some good photos on my digicam. Will see if I can host them somewhere.

TDC those sound like some kickass seats. It would of been awesome. But the fireworks almost made me go deaf. And Booker's pyros burnt my eyeballs lol (just like last year it did). Feel free to post your comments TDC. If you wanna contribute or add anything to what I have said. Any funny things or little things. lol

Bubba and Devon were absolute classics. During there tag match they got really pissed off that we kept chanting Londons name. Also Kenzo got pissed and ran towards our fence at the start of his match.

During the Eddie vs Angle match when Eddide got thrown over the top rope a guy got his nose busted open when Eddie hit the steel fence.

Also Trevor from the Australian Big brother was ringside as well.

Other than that the Pyro was sooooo friccan loud from ringside.

Sounds like good seats TDC! I might be even closer next year if Raw comes ;) What did your seats set you back price wise? Were you trying for front row and they sold out or what?

Did you happen to see Rove McMannus? (From Rove Live!)? He is a major WWE fan lol - might have been near Trev lol..

Good pictures, you guys were lucky to be there but I think I'll have just a bit more luck seeing how next month WMXXI tickets go on sale and I'm planning to buy a few tickets.
