In breaking news, 1Wrestling reports that WWE released Ryan Sakoda earlier this week. It is expected that Sakoda, like most other releases, will be bound to a 90-day no-compete clause.

Sakoda had primarily been used in the team environment with Akio (Jimmy Yang).

Well looks like the WWE ended another tag team that Smackdown desperately needed. So what is Akio going to do now without Sakoda? Is he just going to become another cruiserweight who rarely wrestles in singles matches in Velocity or will the WWE finally give this guy a push into the Cruiserweight title division?

But about Sakoda, I won't miss him that much seeing how he never really did anything on Smackdown except for being in tag team matches with Akio on Velocity so he won't be a big loss but it is a loss none the less because in one month Smackdown has ended two tag teams, Akio & Sakoda and Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty. So Smackdown's tag team division is getting smaller by the minute. I bet you one day we are probably going to see the tag team of Scotty 2 Hotty and Akio. Just you watch.

Losing Sakoda isn't too big a loss as he rarely did anything on TV anyway. I didn't really see enough of him to judge whether or not he was a good worker, but from what I saw he seemed to be OK. I do agree that this probably won't help the tag team division any more though.

Losing Sakoda is big. Not because he did much of anything, because he didn’t. But it’s a major lost because he and Akio had mad potential as a tag team, even without Tajiri leading them. With this, they might as well release Akio too. I don’t see them doing anything with him from here on out.

I feel the recent release was the best thing that could happen to Sakoda. He had talent and he could of been a good addition to the Crusierweight division, but the problem is WWE keep holding the crusierweights back, and if they had done things correcly, Akio and Sakoda could of been good to have in the tag division also. But once again the WWE mess up, and lose another talented wrestler, i am expecting Akio to follow because there will be nothing for him either. This is a blessing in disguise, he has now got the chance after the clause runs out he has got options on the Indy section to follow, and least they will use him to his best needs, they will give him the chance to show what he has got, and what he is made of. I just hope Akio follows him because i don't think there is anything on Smackdown for him, i doubt he will be put into the Crusierweight division because it seems it is not going to be improved in the near future, so it would be best for him to follow Sakoda and go onto the Independant scene. It would be better for both men, and both careers.

Well, I hope the guy goes to TNA and shows Vince what he missed out on. I hate the fact that talented workers receive little to no attention in the WWE. Some do, but many don't. Like all of you have said, I don't see Akio doing much now since his partner is gone. :thumsdown

If only the WWE hadn't been so ****ing stupid. Akio & Sakoda had a good thing going with Tajiri on SD!, but the WWE screwed that over by sending Tajiri to Raw.

I, for one, am glad to see Sakoda gone. Before you jump all over me, the reason I'm glad is because of the reason Chazz stated. Sakoda could easily go to TNA and get used properly. Now if only Akio would make the jump as well.

If Sakoda ever went to TNA I bet he will probably just be there for a month and leave. I doubt Sakoda would even do good in TNA for the sole purpose that TNA might not know what to do with him. And the whole Tajiri/Akio/Sakoda group, it didn't work and it should have never happened because the fans never did give a **** about it anyways. If a group wants to survive in the WWE the fans have to enjoy it and the fans didn't care much about it. The fans didn't give a dam about O'Haire so the WWE were too lazy to find a way to help O'Haire so they just fired him, same with Rikishi, Sakoda and a few others. This is a off-topic but whatever happened to Kenzo Suzuki?

The fans didn't care about Tajiri, Akio, and Sakoda because the WWE hardly gave them airtime and time for the fans to warm up them. I guarantee you had they been built properly, the Yakuza would have kicked mean ass.

Thats true. But I think the fans would rather have Tajiri as a face and almost every single new superstar that comes into the WWE are normally heels. And if a superstar starts out as a face then most of the time they won't make an impact with the fans. Normally you will need to be a heel to make an impact with the fans. So having Tajiri (face) teaming with Akio and Sakoda (heels) wouldn't make sense.
