Raw vs Smackdown
Summerslam Matches

Welcome to another edition of "The Highlight Reel". I know its been awhile since I have writen one of my columns but I have decided to come back and write again. So what I'm going to be discussing is the matches that Raw and Smackdown will probably have for Summerslam. For Raw, there matches are Chris Benoit defending his World Heavyweight Title against Randy Orton and of course Triple H will be taking on Eugene. For Smackdown there matches are John "Bradshaw" Layfield defending his WWE Title against the Phenom The Undertaker and the second smackdown match set for Summerslam is a re-match from WMXX which is Eddie Guerrero taking on Kurt Angle.

So first off I'm going to be discussing the two raw matches for Summerslam and what should happen in my opinion, also how should these matches be built-up and finally what should happen after these matches occur at Summerslam. The first match that I'm going to discuss will be the Triple H vs Eugene Match. In my opinion these two superstars can put up a good match but I just don't think that this match will be good enough for a Summerslam pay per view. Eugene has only been on Raw for a few months and since then he has been getting a huge push from the WWE because of how the fans have reacted to Eugene. The fans love Eugene, the fans hate Triple H, so the WWE thought what a better way to have a good vs evil match if the fans favorite superstar Eugene takes on the fans most hated superstar Triple H in a match. The way to buid-up this match is the same way the WWE have been doing in recent weeks and have Triple H come out next week on Raw and start complaining that Eugene cost him the World Heavyweight Title. Bischoff would come out and try to calm Triple H while Triple H destroys everything in sight before Bischoff comes out. Triple H gets face to face with Bischoff and demands a match against Eugene next week on Raw. Bischoff says he can't just do that. Triple H continues complaining and demanding the match. Bischoff agrees and will give him the match, but to make this fair match Eugene will face Triple H at summerslam because Eugene is still injured from the attack two weeks ago from Evolution. With two-three weeks left till Summerslam the WWE should just try to continue this bickering by Triple H about losing his chance to become the champion. Now for who should win the match at Summerslam, well I would go with Triple H winning and thats probably what is going to happen. Triple H is the game and the WWE are not going to have Triple H lose a match to Eugene, especially in a huge pay per view like Summerslam. This match should b eeven throughout the match until Triple H cheats to win this match. This way Triple H won't continue is complaining. After Summerslam Triple H is probably going to get a shot at the World Title in the next pay per view. Knowing the WWE and I personally would want Triple H to get a world title shot after Summerslam and I'll tell you why, but later. So that was my opinion on how this match should turn out, remember my prediction goes to the game Triple H. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about what Eugene should do after Summerslam. Well why not have Eugene in the Intercontinental division. In my opinion Eugene is good enough to be in the IC Division, even with his current gimmick I will still have him in the IC Division, why not have Eugene start a feud with Edge. Now it may not be the best idea but I think it can work. If done right it can definitely work, they can have Eugene ask Edge that a month ago he said he was going to take every member in Evolution down and that Eugene was a member at the time, well Eugene can ask if Edge was talking about him as well. Edge could say no but Eugene would disagree and on the same night Edge could have a match in which Eugene would turn on Edge because he doesn't believe him. Bischoff could poisin Eugene's mind with lies about Edge and this could continue to Unforgiven where Eugene would face Edge for the Intercontinental Title.

Now I will discuss Raw's main event for the World Heavyweight Title between the champion Chris Benoit defending his title against the # 1 contender and former Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton. Many people are picking Randy Orton to win the title at Summerslam and so did I. But now that I think of it, I think it would be best if Randy Orton didn't win the title, not just yet and I'll discuss that later. But first off how should this match be develop. Orton should come out and make a promo about how he is the greatest Orton of them all and how he is going to be the first Orton to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Orton could continue to tell Benoit that he has never had a challenger as young as him and that he is going to show that the young lion will dominate and destroy the old lion. Orton can continue to say evolution will be taking its course at Summerslam and that Benoit is just too old to be Champion and its Orton's time. This could continue on till Summerslam, Orton could talk about how he is the future, Benoit would come out and try to prove Orton wrong but Orton would run away. Then two weeks before Summerslam or a week before, Benoit could have a big match against Kane or someone like that, and Orton could cost Benoit the match. And in the last week Bischoff should have Orton and Benoit team up to take on Edge and Batista (IMO Edge should defend his title against Y2J and Batista, so thats why I chose Edge and Batista to team up but thats another subject). Benoit could be in control of the match until Orton turns on his tag team partner Benoit and cost him the match. And at Summerslam, this match should show Benoit using his technical abilities and have Orton get some good shots on Benoit. Almost in the end they should show Orton not quitting and both men pretty much even in the match. In the end Triple H should come out with a chair, Triple H would try to hit benoit with the chair but Benoit ducks and Triple H accidently hits Orton over the head costing him the match and the world title. So Benoit would walk out with the title. After Summerslam, the next night on Raw Orton should come out and ask Triple H why did he hit him over the head with a chair on Summerslam. Triple H responds by saying he was only trying to help but now that he thinks of it he made the right choice because he believes Orton is not yet ready to be a World Title contender. This feud would continue to unforgiven where Chris Benoit would defend his title against Triple H and Randy Orton in a Triple Thread Match in which Randy Orton would finally win this match and become the New World Heavyweight Champion.

Now I'm going to talk about the Smackdowns matches. The first match which I will be talking about will be the re-match from WMXX, I'm talking about Eddie Guerrero taking on the former GM of Smackdown Kurt Angle. Now I enjoyed the match at WMXX between these two men and I'm glad they are doing it again (reminds me of Brock vs Kurt where they faced each other at WM19 and then they had a re-match on Summerslam). Well of course the WWE and in my opinion they are probably going to have Eddie Guerrero telling Kurt Angle that he costed him his chance of retaining the WWE Title but its ok because now Eddie Guerrero can take out his rage against Kurt Angle because he was the man that named JBL as the number one contender a few months ago. Kurt continues to say that he is still injured and that at Summerslam he is going to pull out a miracle by defeating Eddie Guerrero as a crippled man. This would lead all the way to Summerslam in which Kurt Angle should win. Eddie got the first one and Kurt should get the second one (maybe later of the year they would face each other in a 2/3 falls match). At WMXX Eddie Guerrero cheated to win, but now this time I think Kurt Angle should be the won who cheats to win just like Eddie Guerrero did at WMXX, not exactly the same way but still have Kurt cheat to win. After Summerslam Kurt Angle could come out and have a huge celebrating going on in the ring telling the world that he has defeated Eddie Guerrero once and for all and that he pulled out a miracle because no one believed a crippled man who has been told he will never walk again defeated the former WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero. This would lead to Big Show making his return to the WWE. Now I will discuss on what should happen after Summerslam after Summerslam has ended to tell you my opinions of what went wrong and what went right.

And finally I will be discussing the main event for Smackdown which will be John "Bradshaw" Layfield defending his WWE Title against the Phenom The Undertaker. What should happen in my opinion leading up to Summerslam is to have Undertaker come out and try to scare JBL like he has done with other superstars. JBL says he is willing to pay Undertaker so he can walk away from this match. Undertaker says he has no price but JBL tells Undertaker that everyone has a price and that he is willing to pay Undertaker whatever it takes to have him walk away. JBL should then wave money on Taker's face and Undertaker would throw the money down and this would lead to a tombstone. Undertaker tells JBL to rest-in-peace. A week later JBL should begin to taunt Undertaker by going to his tombstone in a graveyard and have JBL destroy it. This would lead to the Summerslam match in which Undertaker should win. Undertaker should win clean and simple, in my opinion JBL should be dropped to the United States division because for one thing, his gimmick fits perfectly with the title and thats where he should be, for now. Now, Undertaker should go on and defend his title against John Cena in which Cena would defeat Undertaker at No Mercy to become the New WWE Champion. IMO Cena and Orton should be Champions of there own seperate shows at the same time. Smackdown needs some main-eventers and Cena is more than ready to become the WWE Champion. So with Cena moving up to the WWE Title division, the United States Title Division will have room for JBL to walk into. Well those were my opinions and I hope you enjoyed another segment of "The Highlight Reel".

Feedback would be highly appreciated.
