Jess Adams is sitting on a park bench in Central Park the day after Awakening 35 while little Sean Michael Adams is playing on an elastic jungle gym. Jess has her headphones in her iPhone and is clearly engrossed in what’s going on her screen. Young Sean is playing with his wrestling action figures again when a tall, hulking man walks up to the youngster. His eyes are intense, but soon soften as he kneels down next to the child.

???: Hey there little guy, you playin wrestlers?

Sean: Yup! See this guy here is my daddy, and he is unstoppable!

???: Oh really? That’s pretty great, he doesn’t look that big though. I’m much bigger than he is.

Sean looks up to see the smiling face of Dan Murphy. Sean eyes widen as he smiles back.

Sean: Wow! You are a lot bigger than my daddy! Are you a wrestler too?

Murphy: You bet I am! In fact…here I don’t do this often, but have a free action figure of me.

Murphy hands young Sean a Dan Murphy action figure.

Murphy: Want me to show you what kind of move I do?

Sean: Yeah sure!!

Murphy grabs the Mike Adams action figure and his own and simulates a Cyclone, and Murphy puts extra emphasis in shoving Adams’ action figure into the sand.

Sean: Whoa! That’s so cool!! Why did you do it to my daddy though?

Murphy: Well just to show you that your daddy isn’t as unstoppable as you might think he little guy, you see your daddy is actually kinda a coward.

Sean: What’s that mean?

Murphy: It means he doesn’t like to fight anymore. You see I’ve known your daddy for years, and your daddy was one of the meanest people I’ve ever met. And now he wants to just have everyone forget how mean he was and won’t fight anyone any more.

Sean: But my daddy told me he was a great fighter. Why wouldn’t he want to do it again?

Murphy: Maybe you should ask your daddy that, little dude. Just keep in mind that until he does, he will always be stuffed in the sand. Well I have to go little man, have fun with those figures.

Murphy tussles the hair of young Sean and laughs as he walks away. Sean grabs the Adams figure out of the sand and Cyclones it back into the ground. Meanwhile Jess answers her phone.

Adams: Jess! Babe, it’s me. Where are you guys? I’m coming to get you right now.

Jess: Mike, I’m here in the park with Sean, what’s wrong?

Adams: It’s Dan…he’s gone off the deep end. He broke Cage’s leg, he was screaming my name and screaming that he was coming for me, whatever it takes. Where in the park? I’m in the car right now.

Jess: Mike that’s crazy, you don’t have to come here. We’re fine.

Sean runs up to his mom and starts tugging on her pant leg.

Sean: Mom! Check out this cool new toy I got!!

Jess looks down quickly to see the Murphy figure Cycloning the figure of her husband into the sand again. Jess suddenly gets very scared and looks all around.

Jess: Mike…maybe you had better come get us, we’re by the playground near Columbus Circle. Hurry…I don’t think I’m alone here.

There is a click on the end of the phone as Adams starts racing down the West Side Highway towards Central Park.
