Whilst what she says is likely true, the fact she says so after signing with TNA implies it was a put-up job as TNA desperately tries to get one over on WWE...

It's interesting that TNA have had her debut as a heel, but I'm not overly keen on her working with Velvet. TNA has so much talent in the knockouts division, but right now it appears to be going more and more down the WWE Divas route. Sure they have a match every week, adn they have more than 4 usable wrestlers in the division, but for me its lost what made it stand apart from WWE's version which is taking two female wrestlers that can outdo the mend and just letting them wrestle a great match. While Karen is good at playing her role, it's looking likt it's all setting up to a Traci vs Karen match down the line, and who wants to see that on PPV when you have Angelina, Gail, Tara, Madison, Mickie, Rosita, Sarita, ODB, Jacqui, and even Winter in there. Aside from Tessmacher and Velvet, all of them can wrestle, and even with her terrible in-ring skills, i don't begurdge them putting the belt on Velvet at all, because its a) a good story and b) I want to see where TNA goes with the pushing original talent situation.

It makes sense to have Gail as a heel, given her best character work was when she was paired with AMW as a heel - also she'll be a good foil for Velvet and Brooke, given neither of them can wrestle worth a damn and need all the help they can get (and she can be paired up with the equally shambolic Madison for similar reasons)

The problem with pushing original talent in the Knockouts division is they have very little - Velvet, Madison, Sarita and Rosita are the "original" talent, and only Sarita can work a match, whilst Angelina is better known for being bitched out of OVW for not being pretty enough by Stephanie McMahon than her short stint in TNA that preceeded it.

I don't find Madison to be too bad at all. Her style suits her character and her characterisation in general is excellent. Comparitively speaking then talent in TNA shits on the talent in WWE who have two people capable of wrestling a decent match, plus one other thats off on maternity and WWE will inevitbaly turn her into some sort of cuddly teaddy bear character anyway.

Madison seems to botch one key spot every match, which was less of a risk when she was 1/3 of The Beautiful People but a lot more problematic when she's a single's.

What the Knockouts has that the Divas division doesn't is something very important: Characters. With the exception of Beth and Natalya, what is the character of any Diva, if they have one at all other than Girl Who Looks Pretty Until We Future Endeavor Them? The Knockouts, meanwhile, have far more defined characters and personalities, and also don;t all looks remarkably similar to one another.
