The scene opens among the buildings of the Kongōshō-ji Temple. The beautiful Japanese architecture instills traditional beauty and brings peace into the minds of the few who are milling around. As the camera pans across the buildings and reaches a bridged pond, the focus stops to rest on Raelis Shy. She stands at the close end of the bridge, and while everyone else stands with open-mouthed reverence of the temple she looks content and for once, at home. She breathes in deep as the camera closes in, and the air of Royalty that has become all too familiar takes hold of her expression.
The Queen makes her return this week.
It has been a while since I addressed the sad world of EWE, has it not? Let me refresh those memories who may have forgotten- Beno decided to make the biggest mistake of his life. He decided to strike, and when he did so he made himself a personal Enemy of the Queen. And do you know what happens to those people?
Her eyes start to burn with a ferocity, but she blinks it away to a smolder. She lets out one low, quiet laugh, and holds back.
Well I won’t give it away. You’ll all just have to wait and see at the Brawl for it All.
He has really outdone himself, and he is in desperate need of correction at the earliest opportunity. Oh, but this is not just some matter of making an example out of an unruly peasant. He will be ground so far back into obscurity, and it will be by my heels he is extinguished.
She starts down the bridge path, each foot mindfully placed with a soft step. She walks light as air, showing no trace of anger or the weight of desire for vengeance that peeked out just a moment ago. Her words start to ooze again, but not with venom.
But for once this week is not about him, is it Jeremiah?
Could you imagine that I was sincerely delighted when I first heard I was booked in a match against you? You would probably be a little surprised, if not unsettled. It isn’t only because I’m finally in a match that doesn’t have anything to do with Beno, but it was a genuine desire of wanting a great opponent to have a great match with. You, you were EWE Champion, a noble competitor. It should be a great opportunity to prove myself worthy of moving up the card.
Only, it isn’t.
Her measured pace has not stopped even though she has crossed the bridge. Taking the place of soft steps are concrete ones, thudding as foot meets ground. Her breathing meets the measurements of her feet, and we can see a hint of solemnity.
There’s a problem with all this- none of that matters anymore. A few months ago I might look forward to a match like this, but I have nothing to prove against you. I’m a double champion, I’m Royalty, and let’s face it Jerimiah, you just aren’t what you used to be. You accomplished your feat, you claimed your fame, and now it would seem as though your time is done. What happened to your drive? Now you seem satiated with the fact that you have your woman and EWE has won. You’re content to play little gags and pick fights with Scorch. Where is your nobility? Your moral code you tried to rally 2 with?
Last week was the utterly pathetic show of a Tag Team Tournament, a chance to step in line to take something from The Prince of Cats and the Fiend-Like Queen. So it’s a real shame that instead of seizing the opportunity you decided to bring up some past grudge against Dan and bicker with Michael. So since Michael doesn’t respect you any more than before and you didn’t get your revenge, what was the point? To measure dick size?
She speaks accusingly, as though she's disappointed.
You were one of the first to recognize that the days of a simple EWE are going to come to an end, even if it was in fear you realized this. And if you had cared about it at all anymore, you would see that Michael Hayden, one of the men who stood before you last week, sees the same now. While the two of you alone could do nothing to stop the mass enlightenment that shall be brought down, you could have at least spared yourselves. Now the both of you have shown that you’re just as susceptible to the low thinking designated for animals and not men, just like the those who are only in this for a check to cash every week and strive for nothing more.
But you don’t see that because it’s someone else’s fight now.
She stops suddenly, gazing up at the sun. The light swallows her up, almost blinding the camera. The shot is adjusted around her, and the light casts something of a halo around her.
This is why Royalty is here. The apathy and lack of any cause, the self-serving desires and demand for dignity based on past achievements, this why we are needed. To make you all realize the potential in each of you. To make all of you to see there is more to strive for if you’d just apply yourselves when the opportunity presents itself, and even when it doesn’t. We are here to bring you to the path, but not as lowly shepherds. No, my gentle words did not work for those I tried to teach before. You need a shock to your brains, a kick to the groin, you need to wake up! Now the only option for you to be realized is by force, because that’s the only way you will see the light. And you will be seeing this beautiful light, one way or another.
This you will learn and your thinking will be corrected.
And I’m the one who will fix you this week.
The scene fades on the sight of Raelis and her halo, with a determined look in her eyes.
