*The following was shot during The One vs. The Judge match at When World's Collide.*
*Michael Hayden is seen backstage, still in his wrestling attire. A towel is wrapped around Hayden's neck as he looks at the camera, a small smile on his face.*
Five men fought for EWE right now. Five men, five people who have worked their ass off in this company, just fought for EWE. There was some doubt, some naysayers who doubted the resolve. After all, for weeks WPW had gotten the better of us. While EWE fought itself from the inside, WPW laughed. They figured their job was half done, that those five men would be busy fighting each other to fight for the greater good. For weeks, they targeted us, picking us off one by one while constantly going after our champion. It was only after one person decided to take a stand against WPW, when one person told The Judge "I've got your back", that a fire seemed to be lit inside these five men. Suddenly, they were not enemies, heated rivals, or adversaries. They were united in their cause, united under the banner of EWE. At Everything Ends, the final image was one of unity, as EWE wrestlers stood together against the enemy. And once they were united, the end result speaks for itself. WPW has fallen, and while I won't pretend that I'm not saddened by WPW's demise, we must look forward. We are given a chance to start anew. All of us are now EWE, and I urge the now-former WPW wrestlers to embrace EWE as their new home. We are all united under one company, we're all given a fair shot. It's up to us to take that shot and move forward.
*Hayden grabs the towel before wiping his face, casually tossing it to the side once he's finished.*
However, I can't pretend that tonight was one of my best. I'm glad EWE won, but their success is not my success. No, as I said earlier this week, for better or worse Michael Hayden walks alone, and tonight that seemed to have cost me a title I worked for years to finally attain. Raelis Shy, tonight you gave me a war inside that ring. You stood toe to toe with me, you demanded my best, and tonight your best was better. You and Cassius exploited a so-called weakness of mine, striking me with the knowledge that I wouldn't strike back. I grappled with you, I put you on the mat constantly, but I never hit you. Never did I strike you. For that reason, I can still look myself in the mirror, and I know that I have not faulted on my beliefs. My Code of Honor has remained intact throughout this war of ours Raelis, and while you think that you're walking out as the winner, I've won more than you could ever know. I may be saddened about the loss of my first title, but I'm walking out with the respect of each and every fan out there. I took everything you and Cassius threw at me for months, and when the temptation came to finally strike back.... I refused. I didn't take the bait, I fought with everything I had, and that was enough to gain respect from every person out there.
However, the loss of the WE Tag Team Title has left me directionless at the moment. There's nothing for me to do, no challenge to look forward to or possible opponent to train for. And, if I can be completely honest, I don't trust management to do right by me after this loss. With that said, it seems to be up to me to decide what my next move shall be. Do I continue to try and fight Cassius and Shy, do I move onto the Florida/Ironman Title, or do I set my sights higher? Do I go after Scorch, Cassius, Murph, Judge, One.... do I go after the icons of this company to truly test my skill? Is it my destiny to not only go up against them, but win, and continue to win, until I have my shot at the EWE Champion, whoever he may be?
Whatever happens, I promise you I'll give you my best, because you deserve it. I will not back down, I will not give up, I will fight until I can no longer, because if nothing else, determination will not stop me. It's the curse of being a Hayden, the stubbornness that won't allow us to quit even if the situation looks bleak. And it's this stubbornness that will be one of the driving forces behind my rise to the top. You will see me at my best...
Because you deserve it.
*Hayden softly sighs as he leans back, closing his eyes as the winner of The One vs. The Judge is announced.*
