Since Kurt Angle is apparently making his in ring return, do you think he will stop being Smackdown! General Manager? If he does, who do think his replacement will be? I tried to think of his replacement will be?
In case you were wondering why DDP is on the list. I put him there because I always thought he would be a great GM, and hey, stranger things have happened.
Please post with who you voted for.

Well Kurt Angle might step out of the GM spot in the next few weeks or after Summerslam.
The best candidates for the job would either be
Shane McMahon
or
Stephanie McMahon.
Not Heyman because he will be managing John Hedenreich. So I'll go with Shane McMahon on this one.

Ok let me get this question out of the way because it will be asked or people are thinking about asking it. Why the hell is Luther Reigns on that list?
Personally I would not mind seeing Shane return but he might have other responsibilites that may prevent him from being on air too much. I am happy with keeping Stephanie off TV at least with any role that requires her to talk a lot. I never thought about DDP. I forget what non wrestlng role he is playing in the WWE now.

Well besides Shane McMahon and Steph, who else is a good possibility to be the GM of Smackdown? Heyman will be managing John Heidenreich so Heyman won't be able to. Rumors have it that DDP wants to be a announcer so he won't be the GM.
The only person I can see as the new gm of Smackdown is either Shane or Steph, there's really no one else? is there?

I miss Steph's boobs, so I vote her.

Oh yeah...Steph's boobs....mmmmmmmmm boobs.....how about we have a CO-GM with Shane and Steph. So not only would we get Shane but we will get to see steph boobs week after week.

Definetly bring back Shane O Mac he's allways entertaining & plus he is a hell of a wrestler IMO. If it aint Shane then it has to be Steph because as has been stated above about the boobs & plus she hasnt been on TV for ahwile

I voted Stephanie McMahon, she SHOULD get it, but if it does happen it will most likely go to Shane McMahon.
I want shane to get it, he hasn't had a position of power for a while sop I don't know if he would be face or heel and it could be intresting to find out.

i voted shane but i think y2j world champ's idea is good with the co-gms.

Yeah but how much of Stephs tits are real? Yeah, there you go. Personally I thought she was hotter when she first became GM but then she got the overly big boob job and got that dog hair look. Damn she used to be really ****ing fine.
Oh yeah, the GM thing. Well from the list above I picked Shane McMahon. Definately he is the best Mac to hit TV screens, of course we never got too much of a Shane over load. He is good at playing whatever role he is given and IMO of the McMahons, he should have the biggest role.
Not on the list, I would go for Teddy Long. Chazz has convinced me the Theodore would make a great GM of Smackdown!. He would add something new to the show.

lol. yeh she dd look nice without the big tits but i'm not complaining:p.

I put Luther Reigns in there because there is a chance (albeit a slim one) that Angle might pass the GM role over to him, probably not though.
I definately think it will come down to Shane or Steph (even though I voted for "Someone completely different").

I say Shane or Steph. I hope they don't get a wrestler to be GM. Heck they might get someone like Vince Russo for all we know, I mean they brought in Eric Bischoff for RAW GM so ya never know.
Mr. Long
07-18-2004, 02:31 PM
As long as Russo works for TNA, we will probably never see him on SD!, but hey, who knows?

Vince Russo is an *******. I never watched WCW, but on the Monday Night War DVD, it seems to me that he was the one that ruined WCW. The way he looks, all slimey and horrible. Him being GM, let's hope not. As for the McMahons, I heard we'd only see very little of them this year on TV, which I think is a good thing. I like Shane yeah, but he'd only bring another Mac with him. Him and Vince would probably end up having a big feud, and take over SmackDown! if Shane was there. Besides, he's a RAw man, like Mick Foley and The Rock. People who are hardly ever on TV, but when they are, they appear on RAW only. Teddy Long would be good, but he's managing Jindrak, and he needs to stick at that to make Jindrak look good 'cause he's poo on the mic', much like Garrisson Cade. And Paul Heyman won't be GM either. Remember, he's not working for the WWE. If he was, he'd have to work on RAW because of the draft lottery. So he'll stay as manager for some time to come yet I think. So other potential candidates... Adam Day maybe?!?! I don't know, but it'll be interesting to see where the WWE takes this one.

Stephanie: she really didn't do anything for me as the SD General Manager. If she came back as a heel, then maybe I could see it.
Shane: I love the guy......but GM of SD is not for him. The guy is too way over for it.
Heyman: Would be the #1 choice, except he is running his own little stable now.
I'd vote for none of the above, and would add Teddy Long. The guy is a perfect choice and right now he isnt managing anyone. I find it interesting that last week on SD, Cole announced that Jindrak and Long had ended there partnership. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm! :winkok:

I hope it goes to Shane but DDP would be a good GM I think.

I missed the beginning of SmackDown!, I was still in bed. Only thing is, it's a mega push for Teddy Long isn't it? He's never been really in with the crowds. He's funny from time to time, but has he got what it takes to cut it as the GM?
The Great One

I wouldn't have DDP as the GM, it wouldn't seem right with him in control. I wouldn't have any the Mchmahons as GM because it seems that if a Mcmahon is on the helm, Vince will always come in, and start a feud that will end up them wrestling on a PPV. If a Mchmahon to come in, i would have Steph, as a heel though not as a face. She will have to change her clothing style to more a bitch look, she will look to much of a face with her current looks. Shane on the other hand, would be better suited to Raw.
The other pick i would have, Teddy Long, it would be great if he was to become GM. He has awesome mic skills, and would be suited right away for the job. The fans would accept him right away as a gm i am sure they would. IMO Smackdown would improve if he was at the helm, because now that his partnership is over with Jindrak he is free without a storyline, and this would be a big step up for him. Teddy Long would get my vote over the others.

It didn't seem right to have Kurt as GM either but it worked. I think DDP could do it and maybe keep SD from becoming BS again.
The Great One

Teddy Long would be the ideal choice, if not him. I would choose Mick Foley, he could bring in some needed fans, but Foley is about to appear in RoH if i read the news correctly so that might erase him from the question. Luther Reigns, i don't think would be the best idea, i mean he is only a bodyguard for Angle, and that i don't think he could fit the bill of gm. Maybes i might have to watch Smackdown to see.

Oh yeah....I forgot about Teddy Long. In my opinion he would be a great GM for Smackdown. He's got good mic skills and can really be a good heel. My three choices would be Teddy Long, Shane or Steph.

Pretty much the same for me, but i would include Foley into my choices.

I also chose Shane O'Mac as the new GM, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I think that Vince will return to Smackdown and cast a familar reign of terror.

How bout................ no one as a GM, GMs get to much tv time as it is and it could be spent toward some of the wrestlers storylines.

Well without a GM who is going to make the matches? It will be dumb if Taker came out (example) and challenged JBL for the title and he accepts, who would make the match official. Before when superstars were on both shows Vince was able to take care of it so now that RAW and SMACKDOWN are seperate, Bischoff is the Vince of Raw and Kurt is the Vince on Smackdown. This way Vince doesn't have to be on both shows.

There called story writers. You don't need GMs to make matches when they are scripted. They didn't have GM when they were sucessful, what the big deal of having a GM................................................ ......

tell me ur not serious its only scripted neway u ass wrestling gets a rating on average of what ill say at the highest 4.0 ok well theres only 290 million people in the us. im not a master at math but thats not a very good percentage

Yeah the writers make the matches but I'm talking about matches like EC. You need the GM or someone in charge like Vince or something to make the match, it will be kinda stupid if the writers came out and said that there will be a EC match. And there is nothing wrong with GMs and GM's are not the reason nobody watches wrestling. Actually alot of people still watch wrestling just less of it and the reason is because of the storylines.

well actually if u wanna get technical it has nothing to do wit the storyline it has more to do with the fact that wrestlings trash and has been trash for the past few years.

That is true to a certain extent. But also its the superstars, the WWE needs a superstar to make a huge impact with the fans, just like Austin, Rock and HHH did in the late 90's while HBK and Bret were in the early 90's and Hogan in the 80's. In my opinion if the WWE can get a superstar that can make a huge impact with the fans I believe that the ratings can go high, but thats just one idea.

I agree we need the returns of Barry Horowitz, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, "The lost Rocker" Martey Janety and last but not least pound for pound TWGTT of all time not Shelton Benjamin and Haas but THE MOUNTIES :winkok:

Yeah sure....the one superstar that can help the WWE until the WWE can develop their superstars is the Rock. If The Rock can be in the WWE for a few months this would allow some of Smackdown's and Raw's superstars to develop like Rhyno, Shelton Benjamin, Rene Dupree and so on. The Rock needs to come back and carry the WWE for awhile.

I agree with that, bringing him back could bring in some of the old fans. He could make the WWE a better product. IMO i would send him to Smackdown and try to make Smackdown a much better production, they have been doing well lately, but he could take it a step forward IMO.

The Rock would be a great GM for Smackdown!, he says SD! is his show, why not really make it his show. I also thought maybe bring back a legend to be GM. Or hell, use Mean Gene Okerlund as GM.
Out of those three choices, I would pick The Rock.
Y2J World Champ
07-19-2004, 03:42 PM
Rock is a bad choice for GM. People who are wrestlers and move on to become GMs turn out to be bad GMs, look at Austin and Kurt Angle. And besides the Rock is staying on Raw because rumors have it that at WMXXI The Rock will be facing Randy Orton. Too bad The Rock didn't show up more often on Raw and Stone Cold Steve Austin (100% healthy and healthy enough to wrestle) on Smackdown, that why both shows have a star superstar which can allow there young superstars to develop into the next stars.
