WWE released former tag-team champion Rikishi yesterday.

Rikishi hasn’t been in action lately due to an ankle injury, and the general feeling amongst others was that he wasn’t exactly hurrying to return as quickly as he could have. Reasons for this were believed to be down to the fact that he had a higher downside than an upside to wrestling, thus made just as much money not working, as he would have working.

It was also known that WWE wanted him to lost weight so that they could possibly change his gimmick, but he didn’t do so.

WOW, so finally the Kish' is gone. What are you thoughts on this?

Well I don't really care. His gimmick was getting so stale since 2002. I personally enjoyed the Bad man gimmick more the dancing one.

Good riddance, thats all i got to say about that. Not a fan of him, and never will be. I am glad to see him go, i know this might **** Scotty up, but hey they can repackage him and push him into the CW; or they could send him with Rikishi, to the job center. :winkok:

I'm not all that surprised by this news. He was out for a while and I honestly forgot about him. I agree his gimmick was stale as hell so it's not too bad to see him go.

It was only a matter of time before they got rid of him. Rikishi's gimmick was quite stale. I mean, I can only take so much of a fat samoan dancing in a thong.

Agreed. However, I always found him more annoying than entertaining.

I only ever backed him once, and that was when he squared off against Val Venis in a steel cage match at Fully Loaded 2000.

So very true his Bad man gimmick was much better then his fat dancing man gimmick. If only WWE had of kept the Bad Man gimmick going awhile longer then maybe he could have gone places

Yeah this has been on the cards for some time now and to be honest Im not all that heart broken. I just watched Rumble 04 and Rikishi was way way over weight. He took the whole fat man thing a step too far, it was quite disgusting.

Kish was good when he needed to be but after 2000-early 2001, I just lost interest in him and his ring style and gimmick just became old....... VERY old.

Bye Rikishi, back dat ass out.

I was at that PPV, and that was the best crowd reaction Rikishi has ever gotten.

I was also behind him when was revealed as the man who ran over Austin, but unfortunately it was a **** of a heel turn.

Well in my mind Rikishi was already gone because I had read before they probably would not renew his contract. His gimmick had gone way past stale.

Well I read and heard that he was released because they asked him to lose weight and he didn't.

Yeah, I marked out when he jumped off the cage to do a splash onto Val Venis.

I always backed him through 2000-2001 since I was more of a TV fan and that I was 12 so I was more into it.
