Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Christopher Daniels was released by TNA earlier this week. This explains his appearance on last night's Ring of Honor PPV using his old Fallen Angel gimmick and first name, neither of which was part of his most recent persona in TNA.

Well, good luck TNA. I'm done.

They released Daniels? Wow. I honestly can't think of any other way to describe this than... Disgusting.

lol, WCW...err TNA is a joke. Not sure if he'd be willing to sign with WWE and become Evan Bourne Pt. 2, though. Money does talk so anything could happen.

Well that sucks. Ah well time to return to occasionally checking out Indy feds again rather than checking out TNA every few weeks.

Hey, cuts had to be made somewhere to pay for X-P*c's contract (and Bubba's pie budget)

Not a good move, obviously. I suppose Foley went on his own terms as Hogan/Bischoff were filling his old role but to actually cut someone who was likely to sell tickets on his own makes no sense.

Thats rediculus, hes one of thier biggest names! Cutting people like Daniels is a bad idea. He helped establish them and they booted him so they can hire people like Anderson?

I would be very surprised if he doesnt sign for WWE.

TNA has proved their stupidity yet again

Calm down. Maybe he wanted to be released. Considering he hasnt been booked very well for a pretty long time now.
Its crap that TNA didnt treat him well enough to keep him around (or released him, whichever)

I dont have any expectations to see him in the E, but a BME on the big stage would be pretty awesome to see.

I must be the only person here thinking he'd be better off staying on the Indy scene, besides if he went to the E' we all know they'd do stupid things with the Curry man gimmick

I think Daniels will fit better into the indys than he did into TNA (or would ever fit into WWE for that matter), however I still think it´s a goddamn shame that a man that busted his ass for the company for 7 years or so is not valued higher than Shannon "MF´er" Moore. That just sends a baaad message to other long term members of the roster who aren´t used right now.

Elijah Edwards

Mhm... because they'll give more X-Division matches to the "Prince of Punk" or Glam Rock because his redneck ass can't decide which he wants to be Shannon Moore

Punk summed up my feelings for Shannon Moore a few years back and they haven't changed since.

As for Daniels? I stand by what I said if TNA were the ones who acted first. You just don't fire someone like Daniels unless you have a damn good reason to and as far as I know they didn't, unless you count guys like Shannon Moore as a "good reason" to drop talent like Daniels. Oh well, it's probably for the best. It's not like Daniels was being used anyway. He'll be much more appreciated on the indy scene and probably get more matches and a bigger paycheck than TNA could ever offer anyway.

ROH are way ahead of you - he returned at The Big Bang on Saturday night, and he's gone straight into a feud with Davey Richards.

I'd rather see him in ROH anyway. Like Vince said to Bret, I'll say to Daniels "WWE wouldn't know what to do with a Christopher Daniels."

I'm sure I'm not the only person to notice that Daniels has now been deemed suitable for a cost-cutting measure by both WCW and TNA.

Judging by this week's NXT results, nobody should dare go near the WWE if their surname contains the word Daniels...

Are you really going down this road again? Has it not been made blatantly obvious to you that Bryan and Otunga are the only two guys getting serious pushes from NXT? Or have you become so incredibly delusional that you think a win-loss record actually means anything in a scripted wrestling product?

Thank D2K for that one.

It usually takes somebody to respond to make the subject change, y'know. You could've easily gone on with the simple TNA = WCW in its death throes comparison, but didn't.

Hmph, well that makes no sense on TNAs part unless of course Daniels asked for the release. I actually think he would fit quite nicely into the WWE because of his adaptability, natural mic skills and, actually, his size. He isn't a small wrestler per se and his natural wrestling ability is plain as day to see. I know not many people might agree with this but I think it would be pretty awesome to see him pop up as an SES member on Smackdown!. I don't think that would be a bad way of entering the WWE.

Back to TNA, it's a shithole with no future.

See what I mean as the SES being seen as the ROH stable?

(Hey, cross-forum continuity!)

Making twatty comments for the sake of making twatty comments, meanwhile, gives Supes perfect continuity.

What's more baffling is how Daniels leaves after weeks of inactivity or getting dumped on (i.e. jobbing to Val Venis in both weeks he was with the company), yet Shark Boy is still on the payroll despite no TV or PPV appearences since...anyone?

As I said in the Future Endeavours thread on General, this time of year usually sees WWE cut a dozen from the roster, but instead TNA is the company shedding wrestlers or (given most of them requested their release) resembles rats deserting a sinking ship that's also on fire. But the TNA diehards would rather ignore this, and say how Angle/Wolfe was the best match of 2009...despite that being six months and a different ego trip running the company ago.

Just in case you had some vague interest in watching TNA, along comes another reason not to...

Hey Gang!!!

It's been a while since I've posted a blog. I'm more into the daily updates. But the following is too long for an update.

It appears that I'm winding down at TNA. Unfortunately some organizations "leak" information to wrestling websites to put their spin on a situation, to make sure they come out in the best light. Not me. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna put my name on it. And I'm going to stand behind it.

I came to TNA last year because I still had a lot of wrestling left in me. I was paid a fraction of what I thought I deserved. But I wanted to show I was still at the top of my game. Now my contract is up in May. I want a modest pay increase. They don't want to pay me what I think is fair. I have no problem going my own way.

But about 12 hours after the conversation where we didn't agree on pay, unnamed sources claim that I am hard to work with and that I don't give my best effort. My only response is that TNA made an aggressive effort to re-sign me, among other things saying that they want to build the women's division around me. And I think wrestling fans see, both on TV and at live events, that I always give 100%. I take pride in that. Smearing me on the way out the door is an act of second rate character.

I take pride in making my best effort to elevate my own wrestling and the entire TNA Women's Division. If people were rubbed the wrong way in the process, I stand behind my work and my positive intentions.

In closing I will say this. In the few weeks that I have left in TNA, I will be the same wrestler that you have seen for the past ten years. After that, I haven't decided if I will stay in wrestling, or finally make the jump to MMA. I do have a lot of irons in the fire. We'll see where life takes me. But wherever that is, there's gonna be competition, and I'm gonna give it my all.

Thanks For All Your Support!!!

Later Taters, Lisa Marie Varon : )

That'll clear some space for Maria's arrival to do...what, exactly?
