A video package is shown of some of the highlights from Vengeance. They first show Shelton Benjamin defeating Randy Orton via disqualification after Batista clotheslined Shelton Benjamin almost knocking his head off. They video package shows Flair and Batista helping Orton to the back. It goes on to show some of the highlights from the classic Jericho/HHH in which Jericho was able to pull off the upset victory after Shawn hit the superkick to HHH which allowed Jericho to hit the lionsault for the victory. It now goes on to show the main event between Edge/Kane/Benoit for the World Title in which Benoit won after making Edge tap out to the sharpshooter. After the match it showed Jericho and Benoit face to face until Kane hit the double chokeslam on both men and Edge speared Kane. The video package ends with Edge raising the World Heavyweight Title over his head as Vengeance went off the air.
The monday night raw theme music plays while Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcomes us live to monday night Raw right here in Manchester, New Hampshire. Jim Ross begins talking about last night at Vengeance was one of the most memorable pay per views. Jim Ross starts talking about how Chris Jericho will be getting a World Heavyweight Title Match at Chris Benoit. Both Ross and Lawler start to discuss the World Heavyweight Title match between Benoit, Edge & Kane and that Benoit was somehow able to pull out a victory. Jim Ross then wonders why Edge and Kane attacked both Benoit and Chris Jericho. Jerry Lawler reminds us that two weeks from now there is going to be a Women Invitational match in which every diva on Raw can participate in which Trish Stratus has said she would put up the Womens title on the match to prove to the world that she is the best female wrestler on raw. Lawler remind us that Eugene wasn't never "special" and was only doing this as an order from Bischoff to get revenge on William Regal after William Regal left WCW many years ago. Jim Ross goes on to announce some of the matches for here tonight. There is going to be a re-match from Vengeance in which Christian will be taking on Rhyno, the turn-coat Nick Dinsmore will be taking on Matt Hardy, and the huge main event set for tonight, Shelton Benjamin will be teaming up with La Resistance to take on Evolution, Randy Orton, Ric Flair and Batista.
We start the show off with Eric Bischoff and his nephew Nick Dinsmore coming down to the ring getting heat from the crowd. Bischoff begins talking about how he ended William Regal's career on Raw for good last night at Vengeance. Eric Bischoff goes on to say that tonight is new era and this era consists of two people and they are Bischoff and Dinsmore. Bischoff goes on to talk about the first order of business is Chris Jericho. Bischoff goes on to tell Jericho that when he signed the contract before his match against Triple H that in small print at the bottom of the contract it read "This number one contenders match will not be for the World Heavyweight Title or any other title." Bischoff says that this means that Jericho is not the # 1 contender for the World Title because this match was just a normal one on one match.
All of a sudden "No Chance" plays and out comes Vince McMahon down to the ring with the crowd cheers out loud. Vince tells Bischoff that he has been doing a horrible job as general manager of Raw. First he fires William Regal, second he tricks Chris Jericho one of Raw's top superstar, third he gave Edge a title match even though he lost the number one contenders match and finally he fooled the world by saying his nephew Nick Dinsmore was mentally challenge and that right there crossed the line because now he has been completely unfair with all the raw superstars and if he continues doing this many of the Raw superstars would leave to smackdown and then Raw will have nothing. So to balance everything out here on Raw Vince has decided that there is going to be the Raw Commissioner. And this Raw Commissioner will be able to enforce the rules, make the matches and decide which way is possible to fix Raw and bring it back to glory. Vince goes on to announce the Commissioner of Raw from now on is......Shane McMahon! Shane comes out while Vince leaves the ring and goes backstage. Shane gets 5 feet away from Bischoff and Dinsmore and tells him that he is here to do one thing and that is to improve monday night raw and the first way to improve it is by rehiring William Regal to the Raw roster. Dinsmore and Bischoff get upset at this announcement. Shane goes on to tell that one of the biggest pay per views in WWE history, Summerslam is coming up and that Shane wants to give the fans the best dam pay per view he can present. Shane looks at Nick Dinsmore and tells him he played a terrible trick on Regal so he has decided that at Summerslam it is going to be William Regal vs Nick Dinsmore. Dinsmore gets upset and Bischoff tells Shane that he may be the Commissioner of Raw but he is the General Manager of Raw and that he has more power than Shane ever will. Shane goes on to tell Bischoff that he is not done making his announcements. Shane goes on to tell Bischoff that he stripped Jericho of his number one contender match. Shane tells Bischoff he lied to Jericho but that he has thought of a way to deal with this. Shane tells Bischoff that all day he has been talking to the board of directors and that they all have decided a way to fix all this because at Summerslam, Chris Benoit will be defending his World Heavyweight Title against Edge, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kane and Chris Jericho in the 3rd ever Elimination Chamber Match! Bischoff says he can't just put Jericho in this match, Shane says he can and he just did. Bischoff goes on to complain to Shane when all of a sudden Chris Jericho came under the ring and came from behind Bischoff. Jericho threw Dinsmore over the top rope and knocked Bischoff down. Jericho went on to lock on the Walls of Jericho on Bischoff while Shane just laughed at Bischoff while he began to tap out. Jericho lets the hold go while Shane and Jericho go to the back. In the ring Dinsmore tried to help Bischoff up to his feet.
Johnathan Coachman is shown talking to Garrison Cade and Chuck Palumbo in the back. The Coach tells Cade and Chuck that this is a huge tag team match and that if they want to get a shot at the tag team titles then they need to win this match. Cade tells Coach to don't worry because he has everything taken care of and soon, very soon they are going to win the World Tag Team Titles. Coach smiles. Coach, Cade and Chuck walk out of the locker room and go to the entrance area.

Garrison Cade & Chuck Palumbo vs Test & A-Train
In the end Chuck Palumbo was able to hit the superkick on Test which followed up with a razors edge on Test for the pinfall victory.

After the match Johnathan Coachman entered the ring and raised both Cade's and Chuck's arm in victory. La Resistance came out and stared Cade and Chuck down.
Trish Stratus and Tyson Tomko are shown backstage talking to Christian. Trish tells Christian that he embarrassed the world when he lost to Rhyno at Vengeance. Trish tells Christian that he better win tonight because this team have been in a bad losing streak, mostly because of Christian. Christian tells Trish Stratus that it wasn't for him, she would have never gotten a chance to become the WWE Womens champion and if it wasn't for Christian, Tyson Tomko would have never been in the WWE. Christian looks at both the Womens Champion Trish Stratus and Tyson Tomko before walking away with an angry look in his face.
The World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit is shown arriving to the arena receiving a huge pop from the crowd.

Christian went for the umprittier but Rhyno countered with a suicide german suplex for the victory.

After the match Christian seemed upset when Tomko and trish came out and viciously attacked Christian before leaving.
Tomko and Trish are walking in the back when Dinsmore walked up to them. Dinsmore said that he is afraid that many raw superstars might try to attack me for what he did so he wanted to hire Tomko as his personal security guard. Trish tells Dinsmore that he is more than glad to do it. Trish then tells Dinsmore that if Bischoff is in his office, he says yes and trish asks him to take her to him and so they do.

Lita vs Nidia
In the end Nidia hit the reverse ddt on Lita and put her foot on the ropes to pick up the victory.

Benjamin is in the back being interviewed by Mark Lloyd. Benjamin talks how he beat at vengeance but he didn't take the strap home. Benjamin goes on to challenge Orton, one last time at summerslam. Benjamin tells Orton that if he has the guts then he better accept his challenge.

Jericho comes down to the ring. Jericho just talks about his victory last night against triple H. Triple H comes out and tells Jericho that Bischoff did a smart move by not having this match a number one contenders match because now triple H has a chance to take out jericho and win the world title. Shawn Michaels comes out and tells both men that he doesn't like neither of them but this is much larger than both of them and that at summerslam the strap is going to where it belongs, and that is to HBK. Edge then comes out and tells all three men that they are legends in this business, but at summerslam edge is going to pull out the biggest upset in victory. Kane comes out stands in the middle of the ring and begins to fight Jericho, HHH and edge double team HBK when Benoit came out. Benoit attacked Edge as he threw Edge over the top rope, HBK threw HHH over the top rope, and Jericho threw Kane over the top rope. Edge, HHH, and Kane walked to the back while Benoit, Y2J and HBK stared them down.

Nick Dinsmore vs Matt Hardy
Matt Hardy was about to win the match with the twist of fate but Tomko ran down to the ring and hit Matt in the gut, followed by a powerbomb.

After the match Dinsmore shook Tyson's hand as Tyson rolled out of the ring and went backstage while Dinsmore stomped Matt Hardy. All of a sudden William Regal ran down to the ring and Dinsmore left the ring and left through the crowd.

All of a sudden HBK came through the crowd and hit Benoit and Jericho over the head with a chair. HBK gets a mic and tells both men to prove HIM wrong.
