H2Wrestling's deal with the new West Coast Altitude Network will feature several scheduled "big events" per year, similar to the old NWA Clash of the Champions specials on TBS. The shows will be taped for future broadcasts, although the door would be open to do a live event down the line. The plan is to go with the first special towards the end of 2004. The regular H2Wrestling "Vertigo" series will be a one hour show, with the first episodes taped on 7/31. Altitude will debut this September and will be carried nationally by The Dish Network and Direct TV.
H2Wrestling came to terms with the venue for their debut on 7/31 today and will officially announce the venue (which is in the Boston, MA area) on Monday. The venue will also host the promotion on 8/28.
8/28 is already turning into an interesting date as H2 and Ring of Honor will be in the same area with live events, including a number of former ROH regulars working for H2. Added to that irony is that ROH's former local promoter for the area, Jim Quinlan, is now handling similar responsibilities for H2Wrestling. I hope that cooler heads will prevail and the two promotions will work together to schedule the shows so that fans can attend both, rather then be forced to pick one or the other. It's in both promotions' best interest to draw the most paying fans they can to their shows, not split the respective audiences.
Scheduled to appear on the promotion's 7/31 debut event is Teddy Hart vs. Jack Evans for the "Opera Cup" plus Sabu, Homicide, Sonjay Dutt, Mike Modest, The SAT, The Havana Pitbulls, Chris Hero, Taiji Ishimori, Quiet Storm, Toryumon's Minnamino, Roderick Strong, Alex Shelley, Jamar Cunningham (Jay Lethal), Julius Smokes, Dave Prazak, Party Boy Matt Martel, Sumie Sakai, Ruckus, Robby Mireno, and Gary Hart's Mr. X. There will be a bus trip from New Jersey and New York City to the 7/31, which will be $65 including the ticket to the show, VIP admission, and a free DVD (for the first 25 paid). For details on the bus trip, email AGENTCLPT@aol.com.
Scheduled for H2Wrestling's 8/28 event are Christopher Daniels vs. Chris Hero, Jack Evans vs. The Amazing Red, and Teddy Hart vs. AJ Styles. Hart and Styles worked against each other on an independent show in Hawaii several months back, but this will be their first meeting in the mainland United States.
Well I’m looking forward to seeing H2 Debut. I don’t care what any one say’s the promotion has a lot of promise.
I must say I’d be quite happy to see there TV Show, Look’s good, Hopefully they’ll have some of the Smaller name’s on the Show.
I really do hope that H2 and ROH Wont go to war with each other over events and Wrestlers. Both Promotions have a lot of fans and one has a lot of people curious about seeing their promotion.
They do have a lot of decent workers sheduald for there shows, I just hope they don’t go down the same road as the now defunct MLW did. Start small I say with a few casual big independent names.
For the 8/28 Show I’d be quite happy to see Daniels/Hero IMO that could be one amazing Technical encounter, Hero is a great worker, Also AJ Styles/Teddy Hart should be a good match up too, Hopefully it will focus on Wrestling as opposed to spots.
