I thought this would be cool to see what video games you guys would love to see "re-invented". I would like you guys to focus on the classic games from the 80's and 90's.
GHOSTS N' GOBLINS (1986 on NES)- I am sure this game will not amaze anyone by it's graphics and easy gameplay. But man, was this game ever addicting and fun to play. I honestly feel that an awesome backstory could be developed here. In the original, you play a knight named Arthur, who is trying to rescue a princess named Prin Prin. Yeah, I know, silly and not so original. Plus, this game was rated as the second hardest game ever made (rated by Gametrailers). This can also be corrected. Actually, you can go so many ways with this game and really make an intriguing retelling of it. Yes, there were sequels that did expand on the story a bit, but still, the story is basic. And, knowing how we love our video games to have in depth stories, this is one game that could really benefit from it.
CASTLEVANIA (1986 for NES)- Yes, there have been sequels to the first. And, some have been good, while others have been...meh. However, considering how survival horror is big these days, and considering how some love this series, I find it is time to reinvent the original for today's gamers. Now, rumor has it, Konami has been thinking of doing thise for several years now. Let us hope they decide to run with it.
SILENT HILL (1998 on Playstation)- The only thing that the sequels have on the original is that they are graphically better. Other than that, they can't touch the original. This was the first game that ever creeped me out to play at night...with the lights off. It was shocking (for its' time) and (IMO) really expanded on the idea of what survival horror could be). Give this classic the next gen upgrade it deserves.
