This has to be one of the best analysis's of Cena's character along with how to fix it. If the WWE went this route quite honestly Cena would become SDs biggest draw in no time.

Good points about him still having plenty of time to adapt his wrestling slightly, and how he can get taught things off the Undertaker (sorry man :p) and Kurt Angle. He ought to be doing that, to really become the main-eventer that he was destined to be several months ago. He's got it on the mic', if he can get what it takes to be a success in ring, he could be the next Rock or Stone Cold. Good find.

Lol...the stuff about his character would get him over as a main eventer so much more and would help SD out in a big way. The only way I can see them fixing his character would be to turn him heel as the WWE never seems to want to book a face with any type of an edge which is sad. Look at what it did for Austin? The way they have his character laid out in this article would make him look more like the first John Cena instead of the next Austin if you know what I mean. If he fixes his in ring skills (which I think he should be able to do easily by what they said) and the WWE puts some real time into booking him then SD will be so much better off as will Cena.

Well they are probably going to keep Cena with his current character because for one thing, Cena loves the hip-hop/Rap world so you know he wants to represent and because the WWE are trying to reach out to all the hip-hop/rap fans out there so that they can tune in to watch John Cena on Smackdown. The only way I can see Cena changing his character is if the Smackdown ratings went off the roof. And seeing that won't be happening for a long time, then Cena is probably going stay like that for a long time.

As I agree that his character is getting stale, WWE is still making a ton of money off of him and he still gets great crowd reactions. Cutting down on the raps was the first step to making his character better, but there's still a lot of work to do.

there is no way he can change into a heel right now. Why? Because the only faces left there are to main-event are....Guerro, RVD, and Cena. RVD doesnt get used but should be. Guerro has been main-eventing long enough and WWE needs to keep the pressure off him for a couple weeks. If Cena was heel just look at whos left. Now that Taker is a heel

I agree. Smackdown needs Cena to stay a face. Cena and Eddie are the top 2 faces on the show now. I think RVD is still up there as well. Cena spent a good amount of time as a heel so he doesn't need to go to that role just yet. He could tone down the rap, which I think he is doing. I think a remember a couple of matches where he did not even do a rap before the match. He should save that just from promos. I also totally agree his ring work could be improved. He is not bad, but with the proper training he could be alot better. However, just like Austin his character is more of a brawler so I don't think he is going to be turned into a technical wrestler like Benoit.

I don't want him to turn heel that's not what I meant by what I said but rather that it is the only time they seemed to book him properly. If they book him as he was around Survivor Series then they wouldn't have much problems. To me it is as if they don't think they can make another Austin like face so they have resorted to having him suck up to the fans like the other faces. I think Cena should stay face probably for the majority of his career IMO if they just book him the way they booked him when he first turned. Then IMO I think they would have a guy who could draw big ratings for the WWE and the SD brand when he becomes a main eventer.

cena yes. Let's keep cena face and make him get better in the ring. then we book him against talented wrestlers like we're currently doing Booker t. and RVD. we should put him against the dudleys. I think Cena is SD's second biggest star. after Eddy G.
