The lack of E3 threads is a bit strange...
Metal Gear Solid Rising annound for 360!
Anyway, for those who didn't know, Hideo Kojima (of Kojima Productions, a part of Konami) announced at Microsoft's conference that Kojima Productions will be making their first ever game that will go to the Xbox 360, Metal Gear Solid: Rising! Here's a few quick bullet points about the game.
This will be the first ever MGS that Kojima himself will not be working on. He's not writing, directing or designing the game. He will, however, be producing the game (obviously) but he's let his "protoges" take over and has vowed to keep his mouth shut and let them do as they wish. Scary prospect? Perhaps. But I have faith!
Despite still being called "Metal Gear Solid", it's doubtfult the game will even contain Solid Snake. The Solid part of the title actually reffers to the game being in 3D. (Which back in mid-90's was still a big deal ;))
The lead character for the game is believed to be Raiden, with his face being shown on a screen when Kojima announced.
The series' former tagline, "Tactical Espionage Action" has been replaced by the words "Lightning Bolt Action".
The game WILL be availiable for PS3 aswell as Xbox 360. It was confirmed at the Konami conference
Although this is a console game, it is not strictly a sequel to MGS4. Many consider it to be the start of a whole new series, and to emphasise this the real MGS5 was announced at the Sony conference the next day...

I'm not a big PSP player. In fact, I think I've played my PSP about twice since I bought it. But this is a Metal Gear game, so I'm digging out the damn thing to play this!
Set in 1970's Columbia, you play as Big Boss (Solid Snake's "father") much like you did in MGS3.
Unlike MGS: Rising, this game is being written and directed by Kojima. (There for AWESOME).
Like I said earlier, Kojima considers this the 5th installment of the MGS series, though it's technically not called MGS5.
To be honest, you'll get more if you watch the trailer. Looks good (especially for a PSP game), and it looks just as epic as any other MGS game. Can't wait.
