"I finish in the best possible way,'' Figo told Portuguese sports newspaper Abola. "I will no longer play at a high level.''
Inter, who take on Siena on Sunday evening, are seven points clear of AC Milan with three games remaining.
Figo, 36, won four Primera Liga title in spells with Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The Portuguese star, who won 127 caps, joined Inter in the summer of 2005 and the scudetto marked his fourth in succession at the club.
"This is a first for me,'' he said."I've never won a title without playing.
"I am delighted. It's always difficult to win a league title in Italy.
"But with respect to the previous scudetti, this one feels different because it has been slightly more difficult.''
It seems the legends of the 90's are slowly dropping one by one. Figo, Nedved and Maldini are all in there last season, and Cannavaro, Rivaldo and Ronaldo can't be too far away!
I loved watching Figo as a kid, absoloutley amazing player, endless talent and 9/10 he had the right attitude and temprement. One of those flair players that made growing up as a football fan from the World Cup 98 to the World Cup in 2002 so memorable. I remember at Real Madrid where he'd do that stop-start run up to the penalty spot when taking penalty kicks, he had all the kid sat my school doing that at dinner times! Best right winger of his generation.
Congratulations on a great career, Luis!
