Monday Night Live!
March 16th, 2009
Freebird
Jacksonville Beach, FL
And welcome to Live! this week hosted by a very special man. Let me introduce Blade LaVigne. Ahh had you going there, nope the special man has an ‘X’ in his name, can you guess who? No it’s not Blade spelling his name wrong, tonight’s Live is being hosted by Xavier Agi, surprisingly no relation to any famous Xavier’s in the world. Before we start, I apologise about the lateness of Xavier to the actual show, it was a prank that went wrong, but here’s Xavier.
Winner gets to call themselves "Leader" of TSA
El Pollo vs. Pepsi Man vs. N-815 Vs. Whoever else is in it
I was late to this match, car broke down but I don’t think I missed anything, all five members of Team Super Awesome were stood in the ring looking more confused than Dan Murph at an opticians. The bell rang and it seemed that all five men have different ideas on what to do. Pepsi man ran around the ring shouting ‘FWOSH’ El Pollo did a very poor Sparta impression ‘I will not fight my brotha’ Gaie seemed to head over to the ‘Todd Franklin fan club’ section of the arena, N-815 and Frank both sat on the floor doing nothing, although Frank was clearly out of his head and creative couldn’t find the time to tell N-815 what to do. The match picked up slightly when Killing Joke appeared after rumours of him winning this match appeared on the internet. Not even the champ wanted these jokers and left soon after, I hear he was going to speak to Mina for some reason. The end came when…
Gaie got counted out while still in the Todd Franklin fan club
El Pollo got counted out after walking to the back after the failed ‘Brotha’ comment
Pepsi man ‘FWOOSH’ed himself to a disqualification
Frank couldn’t answer a ten count after passing out
So I guess N-815 won by default.
No Spelling Mistakes at all Match
Stick DuLeafo v "The Renaissance Man"?
Who is the Renaissance Man? No really, up until now I haven’t heard of him, at least I sort of knew who Stick was. This match was quite slow to begin with, a few standard moves here and there. Stick knocked TRM down a few times. Did I mention how odd Stick was this week? Anyway, Stick slammed TRM hard and TRM had… well… no answer to Stick and his slightly faster paced movement. The end of the match came when Stick hit a Shamelessly Unflattering move of the same name.
WPW Title Beatdown or Upset
The Killing Joke v Blake Baker
The champ is in the house, well that’s what I would say if the champ here won more often than lost, but I suppose it’s all about getting the win when the title is on the line. Anyone expecting Killing Joke to do anything like TSA did easier will leave upset. The champ completely wasted Blake from the bell. The first clothesline floored the unfortunate challenger in this non title match. Blake had some hopes going into this match but he caught Killing Joke on the worst possible day. The champ refused to put Blake out of his misery a few times while not wasting any energy of his own. Parents covered children’s eyes, boyfriends covered their girls chests, and well I just ducked for cover. End would have came with a classic Killing Joke move of death where the ref would usually call the match due to the awesomeness of the move, but since it’s only Live! It was finished with the Ass Wipe.
Tough-ass Match
Gunnar Brian v Scorch
This was by far the match of the night as these two went back and forth for almost a half an hour. It started with Gunnar daring Scorch to take the fight to him, and constantly evading attacks, ducking in the ropes, rolling outside, hiding by the ref. Eventually he used an opening to cut Scorch off trying to get back into the ring and took control. Gunnar tried to work over the left leg of Scorch, grounding his offense. A lot of counters throughout this one as well, both men seeming to know the other's offense very well. Brian's Best caught some knees as Scorch took control. He worked on the arm of the Florida State Champion, focusing on it after Gunnar accidently clotheslined the ring post on the outside. Eventually after a long back and forth sequence Gunnar countered Scorch's attempt at the Ignitor and set him up for the Raven Coloured Streak. He had him up, but somehow Scorch countered and when the two came down, Scorch had Gunnar in his new arm submission he debuted last week. With his arm weakened, and trapped in the middle of the ring, Gunnar reluctantly tapped out to avoid doing any serious damage. After the match Scorch seemed to tell him it was a "wise move" and said "the offer still stands." Scorch then left the ring as a frustrated Gunnar stood there pondering his next move, shaking the feeling back into his arm. Great performance by both men, really felt like Gunnar could have taken it, the tap out seemed a bit strange, as though he could have fought it more, but I guess he just did not feel like risking it in a match with so little on the line and then being weakened in his next big match. Still, a great effort from the Florida State Champion.
Main Event Tag Team Match w/added cherrys
The Stallion & Chris Cage v Jamie Parker & Chris Asmodeus
Cherrys being replaced by people called "Chris"
For a Main Event this wasn’t anywhere near good enough. Neither Cage or Asmodeus really bothered here, and rightfully so were ejected near the start of the match for being utter wastes of space. I was happy, fans were happy and Gunnar Brian really couldn’t care less (honest he couldn’t) Stallion and Parker had a feud a while back over the Florida title and well Parker thinks he is above that level because Stallion is. Simple logic combined with a need to prove made this watchable again, although barely. Parker took it right to Stallion early on, each strike seemed to let out a small amount of anger from Parker onto Stallion. When Stallion retaliated, his attacks had a similar feel of personal hate towards his former rival. Parker seemed to show no sign of injury from the previous weeks. Midway through the match Stallion went top rope, seemed like he wanted to try and put this away, but Parker managed to side step the attack watching Stallion crash a little awkwardly. Stallion seemed to suffer a little, to me it looked like a lip. The end came in strange circumstances when both partners returned to the match despite the protests. Parker nailed a ‘Substitution’ on Cage for the win while Stallion and Asmodeus tussled to the floor on the outside.
Weeee, Live is over. It WAS written yesterday, but since I don't write my own matches, I was waiting for an update on that. Anyways, wait has been long enough so if someone wants to edit in something for that they can do. Aside from that the only other point I'd like to say is at the time of writing there was 1 actual battle. Just 1, so forgive me if this isn't the worlds greatest Live. Personally I feel this is one of the worse ones I've written.
Creds
Gunnar vs Scorch: Scorch for the match, Mike for the winner
Rest of show: Me, shock horror.
