Uh. This is loading.
I feel I owe the lot of you an explanation.
Two Saturdays ago, what is being toted as 'the biggest natural disaster in the history of my country' hit my state. Essentially, half of the state was on fire. Me? I was perfectly fine. Watching bucketloads of smoke coming in overhead, yes - but really, I was in no danger at any point.
More importantly for here, though.. my internet connection's local domain name server was hosted in a little town, apparently, named Marysville. Marysville, if you look at it on a map.. is presently, a black spot. Quite literally, the entire town, and regrettably for everyone, the majority of its residents, were caught in one of the harshest fires known to my country's history - and.. well, yeah. As a result of which, I could access Google - not any of its peripherals, just the search engine - Youtube, and xkcd.com . There may have been others, but I couldn't find them. And why their names resolved, I've no idea. However. When I tried.. oh, 5 minutes ago - it worked. And I've no idea what's happened, whether I've been moved to something more local or whatever - but either way, I seem to be back!
Just for the record, though, this entire scenario is tragic and something you really can't joke about. The death/injury toll is in the thousands. This entire tragedy shoulda been avoided, too. It's.. terrible.
