Problem with pictures loading?

Yeah well, I dunno if this is a site problem or whether its just something wrong from my side, but I have trouble seeing pictures load up at times, because in some of the threads throughout the site, some pictures just refuse to load up, whereas other some other pics would load up alright.

The problem only happens to pics that a poster uploads. Avatars, signatures work fine.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox and I tried using IE, but the problem still persists. Any ideas?

By "refusing to load" do you mean nothing comes up at all? I used to get the little white box with a red cross whenever pictures wouldn't load for me, and the box didn't go away until I downloaded something (think it was the latest Java??).

I assume you're talking about threads like post your pic thread or similar. Not entirely sure why this may be happening, other than compatability issues with your ISP or connection. If both main browsers are giving the same resuklts, i assume it isnt related to your browser choice.

Do others have an issue with this?

Also, please try to put more detail in your thread titles in future to attract the attention of users that are having similar problems.

I appear to be stuck on the IOW skin.

Not that I mind, as I happen to like the IOW skin.. but it's still a glitch.

Whenever I attempt to switch from IOW to any other skin, including the old default black and gold WP skin, I get this error:


A required field called Panic Button- URL Jump is missing or has an invalid value.


Any ideas what could be causing that? I was able to switch to black and gold just fine before the new installations.

Try going to your profile info and putting in a website to jump to for the panic button Smike.

For the pictures I have no idea sadly.

Woah, what the hell? I swear I replied to the thread about skins. I must be losing it.

Anyway, that fixed it.. weird, it didn't cause a conflict before. Ah well.

Could be something as simple as a slow connection. If the thread is very picture instense then the connection could effectively bail on you by timing out halfway through loading the thread. It could be that ot possibly you are bloacked from some picture hosting sites by a firewall or other security measure.

Well..Thats weird :S, the problem stopped. All the pictures load up fine now, might have been not working due to a lack of updates on my comp like Chaos said. Even bongo was telling me he had a similar problem. Works fine now.
