WWE: SMACKDOWN
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
ALLSTATE ARENA
JUNE 17, 2004

Scene opens with Teddy Long, with Dawn Marie by his side, standing in his office. Teddy says that tonight he will finalize the card for The Great American Bash, and that Smackdown will prove why it is the best damn wrestling show in world. He says that tonight has dubbed this week's show as "Opportunity Knocks". He says that guys like Billy Gunn, Mark Jindrak, Hardcore Holly and Rey Mysterio all have opportunities to make a name for themselves. Teddy says that if Eric Bischoff thinks he will outsmart Teddy Long then he has another thing coming. Teddy says that within the hour he will make a special announcement that will change Smackdown forever. Teddy closes by saying that everyone will enjoy the show and they will remember this night.

The Smackdwon theme hits the PA and the pyro goes off as Michael Cole and Tazz welcome us to another edition of Smackdown. Camera pans out to show a packed house as the fans are on their feet anticipating a great evening. Cole and Tazz hype up the main event for tonight when John Cena defends his US Championship inside a steel cage against Hardcore Holly. Tazz says that Holly is more focused than he ever has been and mentions that Cena is a marked man with many enemies. Cole then mentions that Eddie Guererro will defend his WWE title against Rey Mysterio. Tazz says he can't wait for that one. Both men wonder just what announcement GM Teddy Long has as neither man knows what Long will say.

Paul Heyman's music hits and out walks Heyman with Miss Jackie by his side. The crowd showers the two with tremendous heat but Heyamn and Jackie are all smiles this evening. They get into the ring and Heyman gets a mic. Immediately, an "*******" chant breaks out but Heyman could care less. Heyman says that what happened last week......he himself cannot take the credit for. Heyman says that Miss Jackie orchestrated the whole thing. Jackie shakes her head yes and points to her brain saying that she is a genius. Paul agrees. Heyman says that Miss Jackie set up the 3D........because she wanted Rico and Haas to be vulnerable when the Dudley's wrestled them last week. Heyman says that Miss Jackie realized she was going knowhere with those two losers, and wanted to join a winning team. Naturally, she sought out Paul and told him she wanted him to run her career. Paul was more than happy to oblige. He says Miss Jackie is now his first female client, and Paul says that he will make her the #1 Diva in the WWE. Jackie agrees. Paul says that he would like to introduce the new.....WWE......Tag Team champions....the Dudley Boys.

Bubba and D'von come out to more tremendous heat. They get in the ring and shake Paul's hand, then both men hug Miss Jackie as she raises there arms in the air to a chorus of boos. Heyman claps and smiles while this is happening. Paul says that the Dudley's will be watching the three-way dance tonight to see what unfortunate souls get the pleasure of getting beaten to death by the Dudley's at The Great American Bash. Jackie pipes in and says that she hopes it will be Rico and Haas because she wants to see The Dudley's put them out of wrestling. Paul likes that idea too. Paul says that now he wants to introduce the last member of his stable......Renee Dupree.

The Dudley's, Miss Jackie and Paul all clap as Renee makes his way out to the same heat the others got. Renee gets into the ring and shakes everyone's hand, but kisses Miss Jackie's. She blushes and Renee then taunts the crowd. Paul says that he has an announcement to make concerning the match between RVD and Dupree.

"You look.....soooooo.....good to me." and out walks Rico and Haas to a nice pop from the crowd. Rico and Charlie look pissed and the Dudley's begin to taunt them by showing off the Tag Team titles. Rico has a mic. Rico says that up until a couple days ago, he and Charlie were at each others throats. He says that he blamed Charlie for what happened and vice versa. But then, they both realized that neither of them was to blame. So...Rico wants to know why Jackie did what she did? Because he and Haas were always nice to her and treated her like royalty. Jackie grabs the mic and says that both of them were holding her back. She is most beautiful Diva in the WWE and she was forced toplay second fiddle to both of them. She says that Rico used her to help his own career and that Charlie wanted to sleep with her....that was the only reason he treated her nice was just so he could **** her. Haas shakes his head "no" and Rico says that he never used her. Paul grabs the stick and tells the duo that Jackie is with the winners now....and she has somebody who will focus on making her career go to new heights. Paul says that Rico and Haas are nothing but a freak......and a geek. Charlie looks to storm the ring but Rico stops him. Rico says that they will win the match tonight and then they will have their revenge. Rico and Haas leave. Paul begins to try to speak but this time gets interrupted by Mr. Thursday Night.

RVD comes out to a huge ovation and stands on the stage. RVD says that the only reason he came out here was to find out what the big announcement was concerning his and Renee's match. Paul says that he spoke with GM Long and that Mr. Long has agreed to make the match between RVD and Dupree a two-out-of three falls match. Rob has no problem with that, but Paul isn't done. Paul says that the first fall is a regular match. But that the second fall is a street fight. And if it goes to a third fall.....then he and Dupree will finish it inside a steel cage. Rob looks a little worried but he tells Paul that he has never backed away from a challenge and that he will beat the "French Phenom" at the Great American Bash. Why?........Because he is Rob......Van....Dam (Crowd says it with him). Rob walks off as Paul has a wicked smile on his face.

Commercial Break.

In the back we see Rico and Haas in their dressing room. Charlie wants to know why Rico stopped him from charging the ring? Rico says that now is not the time to something stupid. If Rico and Charlie had gone to the ring, then all of Paul's minions would have beaten them down. Rico says that that is what they wanted. Rico says that they have to focus on the match tonight. They win the match, they get the Dudley's. Charlie tells Rico he is right and that he will get his head together.

Camera picks up Eddie Guererro walking into the back, as Josh Matthews approaches Eddie. He wants Eddie's thoughts about his match with Mysterio. Eddie says that he respects Rey but that the title is on the line and Eddie is not about to lose the title. He says that being WWE Champion means that you defend your title against the best. Rey is one of the best. Josh asks Eddie if that includes Booker? Eddie says that Booker T is the number one contender and that proves he is in that catagory. But....Eddie says that Rey will not beat him and at the Great American Bash....Booker T will not beat him. Eddie walks off and so does Josh. From a corner we see Booker. He heard every word Eddie said. Booker says that he will make sure that Eddie makes it to the Bash as the champion.

London comes off the turnbuckle, puts the sign under his legs, and rams his legs and the sign on the head of Sexay. The fans are going nuts and a "holy ****" chant breaks out. London hurt himself with that move as well and deosn't make a quick cover. He crawls over to Sexay and puts one arm over him. 1.....2........2.999999.......Sexay gets an arm up. After a few moments, Paul gets to his feet and grabs the Stop sign. Sexay gets to his feet also. Paul swings the sign aiming for Sexay's head, but Sexay ducks and dropkicks the sign right into Paul's face. Sexay get's his second wind and goes and grabs a chair. John Cena is in his dressing room when RVD walks in. Cena jumps up ready to defend himself but Rob tells him to chill. Both men shake hands and Rob leaves.

You see......Teddy has decided that he has had enough. For the last two weeks, John Cena has been out of control and Teddy is sick and tired of it. So......Teddy called Kurt and asked him to do Teddy a huge favor. Teddy says that he has asked Kurt to perform only one special task. And.......Kurt has accepted. Teddy says that Kurt Angles has but one mission...to rid Smackdown of the disease known as John Cena. Huge heat from the crowd as Cole and Tazz can't believe what they are hearing. Teddy grabs a mic and informs Cena that he tried to be nice to him, but that Cena got to big for his britches. Cena tells Teddy that nobody can get rid of him, so Kurt can try all he wants but he will fail. Teddy says that Kurt will begin his quest at GAB. Cena says he already has a match with Chavo, nut if Teddy puts him in a match with Kurt then he will just have to whoop two dumbasses in one night. Teddy smiles and says that Cena will meet Kurt and Chavo at the same time....because the US title will be decided in a triple threat match. Cena looks concerned as Teddy and Kurt smile. Cena walks off the stage.

Commercial Break.

Okay Chazz here it comes,

Hits:

• Oppertunity Knocks. Great way to start the show before it got rolling. If that happened on TV I know that people would stay tuned as it gives SD! a must see feel.

• Heymans Stable segment was very well put togeather. I like how you made Jackie the star of it. Having Haas/Rico and RVD come out added to it. However I dont know if it should have been the opener. Maybe you should have put a match there to give Oppertunity Knocks more meaning.

• Rico & Haas getting the number one contender spot. Good way to keep the feud going and gives the titles alot of legitimacey. The former champions getting the first shot.

• JBL/Taker is going well. I like how you used real life events in this one. Got JBL over for me.

• Teddy Longs heel favourtism was handled to a tee. I loved how you had him give Jindrak the win and then screw Gunn over.

• Teddy and Kurt trying to get rid of Cena. Like my Bisch/HBK but you handled it alot better. I was shocked that this was Teddys big announcement.

• Cena vs Holly in the Cage was a good match, gave something to both men. Could have done with some near escape spots. It was a good way to end Smackdown! though

• Picking back up on Sexay and Scotty thing. This will help Sexay along however I feel like he needs a name change.

• Teddys comments on Raw were very good. Didnt like the PPV Buyrate thing though as I dont think it helped Raw in anyway. But other then that really solid and I am loving where this is going. The Bisch shall respond.

Misses:

• Booker T/Eddie Gurrero. I just cant get into this feud. This week you did have Booker beat the crap out of Eddie but I just feel like it needs more time on the show. IMO it has taken a back seat to Teddy/Cena

• Sexay vs London, it was a good idea but I just didnt feel it. Seemed a bit rushed and I didnt like that London won because of Classic

• Rey/Eddie was something I felt there was no need for. Faces as best buddies just does cut it for me. They should be at one anothers throats unless they are tag team partners. They were too friendly

• I thought there would be more in ring action due to the start of the show. While there was chaos galore backstage I felt you could have done with one more good solid no interference wrestling match

Overall it was a solid show but it did lack in some places. Very segment based which is good but a good old wrestling match. I'd give it 7/10. It didnt set the world on fire but really there wasnt much wrong with it.

I will be honest with you. I am having a hard time getting the Booker/Eddie feud going. My intent was to get Booker over as a strong heel and I feel I did that. All I will say is that wait til next week.

I debated with myself with opening the show with Heyman's stable, but I decided to go with it because I wanted Paul to build up the heat for the Dudley's with Rico/Haas and for Renee and RVD. Renee and Rob will have a great segment next week to build up their match.

I figured writing in JBL's real life with his wrestling woes added more to him, and I am glad you liked it. I have some great plans for JBL and Taker.

I took your advice and worked in the Scotty/Sexay angle. This will continue to grow.

Teddy's heel favortism is what Smackdown needs, at least that is how I felt about it. Him calling on Angle to rid SD of Cena was done for two reasons: (1) to get Kurt back into the show and (2) to build Cena as a bad-boy face. I have been giving more attention to this feud over Booker/Eddie, and I didn't plan on it happening that way. I will get the attention back towards Eddie/Booker because it is my main event.

Of course the Raw jabs are just adding fuel to the fire between the shows.

Anyways, glad you liked it and I will admit that this one was more segment based. I feel I am putting together a pretty good ppv card, at least I hope I am. :D

It didnt help that you had such a short space of time to deal with Eddie/JBL and then get a new number one cotender. However I am looking foreward to the Eddie/Booker T match and I think it could make the feud a good one.

I liked the Heyman segment because it made his team stars. I felt that they were real heelswhen they were coming out. Jackie was, as I said before, the star of the show there.

JBL/Taker is great.

I do think it is a good idea to keep up on the Sexay/Scotty angle. Last week SD! lost something because you dropped that angle from the show. It helps to get Sexay over IMO.

It makes sense for Teddy to be a heel GM and to show favourtism to the heels. He was a heel manager and so why would he? Wrestling just doesnt have room for the faceGM like Steph was, it just doesnt look good. A heel GM gets the faces over because they have to battle a tyrant in order to get foreward.

Dont worry, the Bisch is going to unveil the PPV buyrates.

GAB is looking very good. The Cena/Angle/Chavo match should be wild. Dupree/RVD is going to be cool too, not sure about naming another Cage stip just two weeks after the one you had on this show though. Booker T/Eddie is going to be a really good match. I think their styles would mesh well and put on a hell of a Main Event.

Well here is my hits and misses.

Hits:
1. I like the idea of "opportunity knocks." Its a good way to showcase your other superstars of Smackdown.

2. I love this feud going on between RVD/Rico/Haas against Dudleyz/Heyman/Rene Dupree/Miss Jackie. This is something that I'am very interesting in finding out out it will end since Miss Jackie has gone to the opposite team.

Misses:
1. Rey Mysterio taking on Eddie for the WWE Title. There both faces and this match kinda seemed something the WWE would do in a house show.

2. I'm not a real big fan of Billy Gunn and this push he's been getting from you is something I dislike.

Anywho, I'll give your show a 7.2/10, good show overall, can't wait till next week to see what happens between this Bischoff/Teddy Rivalry. Sorry for not having more hits and misses, didn't really have enough time.

Thanks for the feedback Y2J. Glad you liked the show, and I'll be sure to check out your shows now that you are here. I have been reading Cena's and I read one show he posted for you, and I like both of them. Again...thanks for the feedback. :winkok:
