Santino Marella getting OWNED

Recently, Marella did an interview and called Cornette a "loser" and also challenged him to a cage match. Cornette responded with the following:

"I appreciate the offer but i would rather wait and have this match with some one who can actually draw money. I am long past the point in my career where i need to work with comedy JOB guys! isn't it funny that when i slapped him in the face 17 times in Louisville Ky. he was not too eager to fight then. but now safely hidden away in Canada at an AA meeting somewhere in Toronto protected by Jaques and Pierre, he suddenly wants a fight, But i am happy that i was able to make the Kid a name in the wrestling business since it doesn't look like he is going to do it for himself! Thanks.....but NO Thanks."

santinos got a lot of things going for him, it was the stupid "random fan" shit that would be the only reason for him not getting over.

santinos funny, he could be a real upper-card superstar with the right story line.

hell if CM punk could hold the most prestigous title in wrestling, santino can be a main-eventer...

You know TK, you might be right in some aspects....however CM kinda has the charisma AND the in ring talent. I love Santino, loads, but he isnt a great showman in the ring like CM Punk is.

I hope its a long time before Santino ever hits the main event, I like him where he is. I like him making me laugh at random points in the show. Not with the world title around or near his waist.

I agree to the above. In my opinion Santino has a gimmick now that will basicly make it hard for him to get over with any new gimmick. Im not saying he doesnt have any talent at all or charisma, he has some, but with the gimmick now, if he was to change it would be like with The Blue Meanie.

He could lose the paint, shed some pounds and change his gimmick but we will always remember him for being the funny fat man, as well as the funny fat man that got the piss beat out of him by JBL and thus caused WWE to give him a win over JBL as payback.

But for Santino, regardless of any change he makes, we will always remember how fond he is of 'utotally' belts. And as for being a main event guy...well he has to show that he has a basic moveset to use before he will be moving up. Right now he pretty much randomises what little moves he does, which while it is ok, you don't see many of the guys without a basic moveset that get pushed up.

Funny promos don't make you a potential Main Eventer if you can't deliver in the ring. What Santino seems to be best for at the moment is being the low-level heel that jobs to the returning babyface, i.e. Jericho and Mysterio, rather than anything else.

So, whilst he may be slightly higher on the foodchain than Domino, who's pure cannon fodder, because he gets mic time - but that's light years away from where Punk is in terms of his spot, let alone in-ring ability.
